Introduction
If you've seen my other songs, you know my mind goes strange places. (I probably shouldn't have bought it that lifetime bus pass.) Last night the kid asked if I was going to write a song cussing out the berry-gobblers I rant about sometimes... and this is the result. (No actual cursing involved.)
Gobble-uns!
(An original song by Sean Roberts aka Starknight_One aka starkn1ght)

You see them come into the town
Out from the wild, their food bar down
But do they eat the tasty stew?
That's not what they know how to do
They run straight to the berry fields
All shining with their full-grown yields
All berries stuffed into their gobs
Before they run back to their jobs

Now berries bright are tasty, true
But they don't fill you up like stew
Or eat a piece of yummy pie
And send your spirit to the sky
Farm-to-table is very nice
But please just take some good advice
One berry will keep you alive
It gives you time to learn to thrive

Listen well, my favorite sons:
Beware of all the gobble-uns!
They eat your berries, carrots too
Ignoring all the pies and stew
My child, it's sad, they're so asleep
Full-grown adults eating like sheep
So eat some pie, and don't be shunned
Don't turn into a gobble-un

Grab berry two and drop it down
Into the bowl that is around
Now pick it up, and eat the bowl
And get some Yum to save your soul
Now you have time to find some stew
A popcorn bowl, sauerkraut too
Raw food for Yum or in a pinch
I hope you don't think I'm a grinch...

When adults strip the berry fields
Kids will die without those yields
You should be eating properly
Things bigger than just berries
I've told you about pie and stew
Sauerkraut and popcorn too
Burritos, tacos, even bread
And mangoes with their skin so red

Listen well, my favorite sons:
Beware of all the gobble-uns!
They eat your berries, carrots too
Ignoring all the pies and stew
My child, it's sad, they're so asleep
Full-grown adults eating like sheep
So eat some pie, and don't be shunned
Don't turn into a gobble-un
Listen well, my children...
No-one likes a gobble-un!
Outro
Well, not a farming song this time, but a farming-related song. This is mainly because it makes me cringe to see an adult run into camp and eat an entire bush of berries when there's stew and pies around...

Noted.
I was a Gobble-un. Because the only thing I know is to take care berry bush and carrots, and that's the only thing I eat, even I'm a grown-up. i tried to learn more skills like using the wells or make basket and bowls. I always feel ashamed to eat pies, because I have done little to the community.
Thanks for the kind reminder, and I'm looking forward to more of your wonderful songs. Hopefully you will teach us the noobs more basic skills!

So long story short the gobble-un is a nice way of saying noobs? Did I run into you one life time? Cuz i had this conversation with an older woman many life times ago. She told me "be good or the berry monster will come and eat all the berries". My response was "so the noobz are coming?" Rite before she passed all the berry trees were wiped and she was said "the berry monster is here. I told you" or something like that

When I got old I cursed a gobble-un, and everytime I got a child I'd tell them to eat berries when they are old or young and to eat bread or pie when they are an adult

The tutorial actually does teach hunger mechanics, but doesn't tell you everything you can eat (mainly because there's so many). Many players don't seem to have the curiousity bump that makes me wonder (in this game) "Can I eat that? Let's check..." ;)

This is fantastic! I just came out of a game where I spent the whole time making pies, then went to go get thread to make backpacks, and everyone was panicing around the berry bushes yelling about famine because they were going dry. While there were tons of pies around. How to prevent? Maybe teach new kids not just about farming job, but about hunger mechanic?
