The AI can't revive you if they walk into your line of fire and die. If both of them die and your shot kills you in the process, then yes - you do lose any points earned in the mission.
As stated in the article, this is not the fastest way to level, an easy way while AFK. I don't know about you, but I find going back to a Tier1 soldier after running around on Inferno is pretty awful. This way the other soldiers can level up overnight.
Honestly, simply playing level 2 (Firebase Clyde) over and over is the most hassle-free way of getting XP and credits. Even then, there are far better ways to level up, but you can just sort of autopilot through Firebase Clyde because it's so easy, which is why I like to use that level.
The only way ant-hill scumming on level 1 is effective is when you rubberband/paper-weight the fire key/trigger and then AFK while your character automatically fires at it, allowing you to do more productive things with your time.
