Capítulo 1: Agencia de investigación de Pierce, Boston

Boston 1924, Edward Pierce, veterano de la Primera Guerra Mundial, ahoga sus recuerdos en alcohol y somníferos. Ahora trabaja como detective privado, pero le cuesta encontrar un caso que le despierte de su letargo. Pierce debe encontrar un caso nuevo pronto o se arriesga a perder la licencia.

Boston, 1924.
Edward Pierce, veteran of the First World War, drowns his memories in liquor and sleeping pills. He is now a private detective who has trouble finding a case able to life him from his torpor. Pierce must find a new case quickly, or risk losing his license.

Capítulo 2: Puerto de Darkwater

Pierce toma el caso Hawkins. La artista maldita ha sido acusada de provocar el incendio que mató a su familia, incluida ella. La única pista es una perturbadora pintura que le dejó a su padre. Pierce took the Hawkins case. The cursed artist is accused of having caused the fire that killed her and her family. As the only clue, she left her father a disturbing painting. On the shipping label, an address: a warehouse set on the docks of the island of Darkwater. The place seems to be the starting point for Pierce’s investigation.

Capítulo 3: La Mansión Hawkins

Pierce consigue entrar en el almacén. En el lugar, supuestamente abandonado, hay sorpresas: signos de ocupación reciente y una pintura parcialmente quemada. Su búsqueda se ve interrumpida por el agente Bradley, pero Pierce logra convencerlo para que se una a la investigación. El agente de policía acepta llevar al detective a la mansión de los Hawkins.

Pierce managed to get into the warehouse. The place, thought to be abandoned, revealed some surprises: signs of recent occupation as well as a partly charred painting. Interrupted in his searching by Officer Bradley, Pierce convinced him to join his investigation. The police officer is willing to drive the detective to the Hawkins mansion.

Capítulo 4: Túneles Subterraneos

En el interior de la mansión de los Hawkins, el lugar del incendio desvela sus secretos. Pierce y el agente Bradley registran el lugar en busca de pruebas tras los pasos de un superviviente. Un hombre encapuchado se cuela en el estudio de Sarah Hawkins para robar un cuadro, pero el detective y el agente de policía comienzan a perseguirlo. Lo siguen hasta el despacho de Charles Hawkins, donde descubren un pasadizo secreto. Pierce y Bradley entran en el túnel subterráneo de la mansión.

Inside the Hawkins mansion, the scene of the fire revealed its secrets. Pierce and Officer Bradley, now on the trail of a survivor, had undertaken to search the place, looking for proof. When a hooded man leaped into Sarah Hawkins’ workshop to seal a painting, detective and police officer set off after him. By following him to the office of Charles Hawkins, they discovered a secret passage. Pierce and Bradley enter the tunnel under the mansion.

Capítulo 5: Instituto Riverside

Pierce y el agente Bradley siguen al intruso hasta el punto de encuentro secreto de una secta en las profundidades de una red de grutas subterráneas bajo la mansión Hawkins. Allí, presencian una extraña ceremonia liderada por el supuestamente difunto Charles Hawkins. Bradley trata de arrestarlo, pero Hawkins, cuyo cuerpo presenta varias mutaciones, destripa brutalmente al agente. Pierce and Officer Bradley followed the intruder to the secret meeting place of a cult set in a network of underground caves right under the Hawkins Manor. They witnessed a strange ceremony led by a Charles Hawkins, very much alive. Bradley tried to arrest him, but Hawkins, whose body displayed various mutation, disemboweled the police officer. As he tried to escape from him, Pierce found himself prisoner of a rockfall. Rushed to the Riverside Institute, he is in a critical state.

Capítulo 6: Mansión Hawkins

Pierce despierta en un manicomio situado en el sótano del instituto Riverside. Allí conoce a la doctora Colden, una amiga de Bradley, que lo ayuda a escapar. Mientras deambula por los pasillos de las instalaciones dirigidas por el doctor Fuller, Pierce logra hablar con un tal Francis Sanders. Antes de morir ante los ojos del detective acusa a Sarah Hawkins de ser la causa de su tormento.Pierce consigue salir del edificio maldito junto con Bradley y Colden. Los compañeros de desventuras deciden utilizar la mansión de los Hawkins como escondite.

Pierce woke up in an asylum, installed in the cellars of the Riverside Institute. He met Dr Colden, a female friend of Bradley, who helped him to escape. Wandering through the corridors of this place where Dr Fuller reigns supreme, Pierce was able to talk to a man called Francis Sanders. Before dying in full view of the detective, he accused Sarah Hawkins of being the cause of his torments. Pierce finally left the accursed building, accompanied by Bradley and Colden. The companions in misfortune decide to use the Hawkins mansion as a hideout.

Capítulo 7: La Librería Sin Nombre

Pierce despierta en un manicomio situado en el sótano del instituto Riverside. Allí conoce a la doctora Colden, una amiga de Bradley, que lo ayuda a escapar.

In The Nameless Bookstore, Pierce traced the trail of an attempted burglary. He discovered that Charles Hawkins was behind the attempt. Pierce opened the bookseller’s safe to find what the latter and Sarah Hawkins had hidden there. A book covered in human skin, lied inside, irresistibly attracted the detective. When he opened it, his mind was projected into another body.

Capítulo 9: Instituto Riverside

El libro proyecta a Pierce en el cuerpo de la doctora Colden. El detective, impotente, es testigo de la investigación de la amiga de Bradley. La doctora sospecha de los experimentos de Fuller. Se cuela en su consulta y descubre que el director del Instituto Riverside oculta información sobre Sarah Hawkins y, probablemente, su cuerpo, pero Fuller la sorprende con las manos en la masa. Pierce debe rescatarla antes de que sea demasiado tarde.

The book projected Pierce into the body of Dr Colden. The detective watched, helplessly, as Bradley’s friend carried out her inquiry. Confronted with the experiments of Fuller, she got into his office discovered that the director of the Riverside Institute was hiding information on, if not the body of, Sarah Hawkins. But she was discovered by Fuller. Pierce must save her before it’s too late.

Capítulo 10: Comisaría de Darkwater

Con la ayuda de Algernon Drake, Pierce encuentra un amuleto que podría proteger a Sarah Hawkins contra las fuerzas del mal que la codician. With the help of Algernon Drake, Pierce has obtained an amulet that is supposed to protect Sarah Hawkins against the evil powers that covet her. The painter told him of her desire to track and kill the Dimensional Shambler in order to atone for her sins. Before Pierce could stop her, he was arrested by the police.

Capítulo 11: Comisaría de Darkwater

Sarah Hawkins, con la ayuda de Algernon Drake, logra expulsar al vagabundo dimensional de una vez por todas tras una ardua batalla. Sin embargo, su periplo le cuesta la poca cordura que le quedaba y sucumbe a la llamada del Mito.

Sarah Hawkins, together with Algernon Drake, Managed to permanently drive the Dimensional Shambler back, at the end of a fierce battle. However, this feat of strength cost her what was left of her self-awareness: she has succumbed to the call of the Myth.

Capítulo 12: Comisaría de Darkwater

Pierce puede conocer los inquietantes descubrimientos de Cat a través de sus ojos. Mientras buscaba al asesino de un policía, un grupo de isleños comenzó a perseguirla y atacarla. Pierce aún no sabe si ha sobrevivido.

Pierce saw Cat's worrying discoveries through her eyes. While she was searching for the murderer of a cop, she was attacked by some of the island inhabitants. Pierce has yet to find if she did make it.

Capítulo 13: Base Ballenera Abandonada

Pierce atraviesa los muelles, donde viejos amigos y caras nuevas encuentran su final. Los esclavos del Leviatán registran la zona en busca de una víctima. Tras abrirse paso a la fuerza y descubrir la verdad sobre el origen de la secta y sus fundadores, Pierce llega por fin a la base ballenera. Espera poder alcanzar a Sarah Hawkins antes de que cometa un grave error.

Pierce crossed the docks, where olf acquaintances and new faces met their end. All over the place, Leviathan's slaves were wandering in search for a victim. After fighting his way through, and after discovering the truth about the origin of the cult and its founders, Pierce finally reached the whaling station. He hopes to catch Sarah Hawkins before she does something bad.

Capítulo 14: Gruta Costera

Pierce conoce al Leviatán por fin, en carne y hueso. La monstruosa criatura lo somete a una serie de desafíos. Tras superarlos, afirma que el detective está preparado para afrontar su destino. Pierce vuela la base ballenera y, tras un último enfrentamiento con el Leviatán, pierde el conocimiento.

Pierce finally met Leviathan, in flesh and blood. The monstruous creature submitted him to a series of ordeals, at the end of which he decided that the detective was ready to face the destiny. Pierce blew up the whaling station and, after a final confontation with Leviathan, he passed out.
