Welcome!
Welcome everyone to my discussion! Before we start I'd like to say thanks for everyone who reads and shares their opinion on the two titles.

This guide will be simply divided into their own categories;
Weapons and gadgets
Classes
Level and map design
Multiplayer/online choices
Leveling and game progression
And other notes worth saying

Lets begin!
Weapons and gadgets
Weapons
While both games, and like most other games, follow the same generic gun categories, Assault Rifles>Sub machine guns> Light machine guns> Sniper rifles> Launchers> Melee.
And in these categories hold almost the game weapons just look different, she all behave and act the same way, so there's almost been no progression in game meta, no one uses AR, and its SMG and LMG rush while snipers keep your back, well, that's in my experience. The only real difference is the TTK (Time To Kill) but I'll get more into the Classes category.

With all these weapons, there also comes its attachments, they often give people the upper edge in scenarios while also holding them down in other occasions, these attachments, such as Laser sight, Rapid fire, long barrel EG. This also goes for scopes and opticals, just like Black Ops 3, in Black Ops 4, they're obtained through a leveling system with weapons. In both titles, they both have the same progression through both games, you have to earn kills and assist with that weapon in order to level it up, this also unlocks new attachments and scopes for these weapons, however, something I've noticed in the new title, BO4, snipers are OP once you unlock high caliber, this does increased dmg, essentially making it a 1 shot kill waist above. I know you're thinking Black Ops 3 has the exact same sniper except you don't need the attachment, wrong, in BO4, if you don't have this attachment on, your sniper wont one tap enemies anymore, this has a huge throw back when dealing with a sniper that has stim on them and they have high caliber while you don't. Long story short, you're not gonna win. This however doesn't just limit itself to snipers, AR and SMG deal and incredibly increased dmg gain once HC has been applied, making it hard to get kills and level that weapon up against others who have already got them equipped.

All in all, unless you're pushing yourself, Black Ops 4 is a hard game to enjoy, generally I want to relax while playing, but BO4 just isn't that type of game, it feels so much slower then BO3, and thats not in a good way, BO3 is fast paced, but I still relax, while BO4, you're just constantly holding a single angle waiting for some kid to run out of heals. The way they execute deaths and weapons don't feel right, its not satisfying getting a kill.

GADGETS AND SCORESTREAKS
I'm not going to go on too much about the scorestreaks, since there is little to no difference between the two games, UAV, CUAV, hell storm, ECT.

However the gadgets have gotten a drastic change. BO3, you progressively unlock new gadgets, Sticky Grenades, Spawn-me-here-thingy, thomahawk, those weird shock-sticks, however, in BO4, every class has its own starter gadget, this can range from hand held/lowrange UAV's, to land mines, and as you level up you can replace the class gadgets for thomahawks, trophy systems (Now no longer a score streak) and also those dreaded shock-sticks. Its gone for a different style on how classe's are built and playstyles and performed. But the standard "only allowed 10 items because even 1 more nade is WAY too much for a soldier to carry" crap. But that doesn't bother me, it keeps the game from being a complete cluster f**k. Another section you can chose from is the "Gear" area, this allows you to add items to make you heal faster, to adding armor, and even getting specialist weapons and scorestreaks faster. Not a huge list, but does change how people play, making them more aggressive to strategizing more.
Classes
Just like BO3, BO4 contains cool looking classes with their own special unique specialist weaponry or gadget, I'm not going into each class individually, only explaining the difference between what the classes do in each game.
In BO3, just like everything else, you have to reach a certain level to have access to these classes and once you've chosen a class, you're locked in until next round. Each class has 2 different choices, but yet both going off the same idea, someone who uses a flame thrower also has an OP instant-activated stun for everyone in a certain proximity, but in BO4, all classes are unlocked from start, and you are able to change classes are any point through the game to counter or get the upper hand, making a changing meta always a good choice.

Every class in BO3 and 4 and viable choices, cutting off flank routes, supply extra dmg and ammo, and activating a mini UAV for your team. And people for some reason think each class has different health and speed, nothing except equipment is changed per class you choose, so that has no game effect.

However, after playing a fair bit on both games, having the ability to change classes whenever you want is a much better choice then it being restricted before the game even starts, so my vote is in BO4 favor for that area.
Level and map design
Both games have some amazing and iconic map designs, nothing beats a "xXsniper430Xx no-sc0pe only" battle on nuketown, however, BO3 doesn't have as many amazing maps as BO4 for ONE reason, Black Ops 4 refreshed and revived some old memories for us older cod fans, it re-introduced some classic maps from older cod games that hit a soft spot in all our hearts, revisiting shooting range from Black Ops 1 felt amazing. However, as the problems discussed in the weapons and equipment category, is also why I couldn't get fully engaged even in the nostalgia of that map, it didn't feel like I was reliving the memories like the developers were hoping for, it felt more like a chinese ripoff that they added their own spin to.

Just like evERY COD GAME TO F**KING EXIST THE SPAWNS ARE PILES OF F**KING SH*T, the amount of times I've had an enemy spawn behind, in the spot I spawned no less then 15 seconds ago and kill me, it really annoys me. And its not limited to just BO4, BO3, 2, and MM2 all had that same problem, understandable for MM2 because its a well aged game, but BO2 and above had some sort of thing out for me, I would always spawn, wait around my spawn for a bit, maybe catch someone trying to sneak a few spawn kills on me, but instead of someone coming from behind, I'd be rudely killed by some guy who had just popped into existence merely 0.2 seconds ago.

All in all, there's not too much to say about the maps on both games, I like some and I don't like some, however, I'd like the server to take into account for the active players on it, and make it a lower chance to play on smaller maps with a higher player count, and visa versa for smaller player counts. Every map has its strong points, often controlled by AR, SMG, and shotguns, and they're lengthier areas in which its owned by a singular soul who destroys everyones a**holes before they even exist on the battlefield. In this factor, **most** cod titles share the same map strats and properties.
Multiplayer/online choices
Both titles feature identical choices when it comes to game modes, all the standard BO title gamemodes, Gun Game, death match, FFA, CTF, hard point, EG, and HARD CORE, its just some stupidly sweaty category in which most weapons are 1 tap, its realistically every except you have next to no health, I mean, stub your toe and you're on critical health.

However there is one major difference between the 2 games, and yeah, I know you know that we all know what the knowledge of this difference is, BATTLE F**KING ROYALE I mean, every other game is leaching from this category of game, just a few years ago, following the success of Overwatch, everything was Class based shooters, now its Battle Royale. And this is when I get really critical on the new release. Everything to do with BO4 does not make it feel like a cod game, it feels different, and now having the game devs fall back onto a money grab gamemode like BR, kinda makes me wonder if BO will still be able to continue on.

I guess between the 2 games, there isn't a huge lot to talk about except for the share of generic gamemodes.
Leveling and game progression
In here, we are not just going to limit this to leveling and what not, we're also going to talk about the games loot system, yeah, its a lowkey P2W (Pay to Win).

Okay, following the exact leveling as BO3, BO4 has a very down to earth, basic leveling system, get kills, wins, and complete task, and that's extreme basics on how to level up. However, that's basic information, with every level you unlock, you gain another item, this can be scorestreak, weapon, equipment, or perks, in BO3, you'll also be given an unlock token, this unlocks an item until you've prestige, then the item is locked and you have to get to that level again to use it, however, a prestige gives you the chance to unlock that item for ever. But in BO4, once you've reached the stage of that item, you get it, no need to save up unlock tokens or anything.

In BO3, there is a item shop known as "The Black Market" Here, you can't jump in and buy weapons or loot only able to get through the Black Market, but here it gives you the chance to unbox crates and hopefully get those items, this is where I said BO3 is P2W, there are some serious OP weapons that can be found, and they often are bloody hard to get, you can gain the credits needed to get loot boxes by either paying real money, or grind up games and buy them that way, either way is good. How ever, by just standard leveling and progression, you can get some good weapons that aren't black market exclusive, but they're often a high tier weapon that you don't unlock until you are a higher level.

At this stage, the Black Market for BO4 does exist, however its just a leveling tool atm, it follows the same progression as the fortnite season pass tier, you play games and gain higher tiers, a fully available Black Market will be opened later, and I will update my guide once I know more about it.
And other notes worth saying
Just all in all, the general feel between both games are completely different, yeah one has jetpacks and the other doesn't, but that's not to say the that's what makes the game different, weapons, play styles, the sound, almost everything feels completely different between the 2 titles.

In my opinion, Black Ops 3 is by far the better game, I enjoy playing it, while BO4 feels as if it is painful to play, kills are more then often ripped away from you because some kid just decides to heal himself and hide and not face their opponents on a like man, and the server is always dominated by the sweatiest of people, those tryhard hard die hard cod fans who often get diamond on some category of weapon before their first prestige. I just can't find myself to playing enough of BO4 to get fully into the game, it just doens't feel nice.
Thanks everyone!!
For coming here and reading my own thoughts of the two titles, yes I understand not everyone has the same thoughts of these two games, and feel free to tell me your opinions of them in the comments, and if there is anything I missed or should cover, also feel free to tell me, I'll come back and update this post once I know what the BO4 Black Market is going to be like.

Have a great day everyone!

I'd throw my hat in the ring for Zombies, where Blops4 has quality zombies drawing aspects from the previous WWII zombies, Blops3 has probably the best zombies experience, with the most maps out of any Treyarch Cod installment thus far (A whopping 14 individual maps) and the weapons feel chunkier, having a really satisfying headshot noise, and a Ray Gun that softly shakes the screen when fired. I still have a lot of fun playing Blops 3 Zombies, even when my friends chastise me for prestiging. Alternatively Blops4 Zombies brings like I said, the WWII aspects into the game which have been updated to a point where the entire game doesn't just depend on luck and skill, but also the loadout you've set, and has the option to add computer players to your solo game. While it's a really refreshing zombies experience, the ability to bend nearly the entire mode to your whim seems to lessen the challenge a bit. Also Blops4 isn't available on Steam which is why I prefer Blops3 more
