Everything you need to start with.
This is the starting ethics, civics, and traits you will need for this build.

1-You will need to be fanatic materialist and your second one is up to you.
2-Next for civics you need life seeded for the gaia world and corporate Dominion for the extra energy.
3-For traits you wanna go thrifty, intelligent, and natural engineers or you could also go traditonal but I'd say the extra reserach is better.

4-You wanna try to get every science lab as soon as possible.

4a- if you don't get every lab go for something life this. And also make sure to change your living standards to Academic privilege for extra research.

5-If you do get every lab your research should be set but you need to rush robots so you can give them power drills so they will make all your minerals for you.

6-For your planet you want to get mineral tiles as soon as possible and save minerals for a trading hub so you can take off every pop on power plants and swap them to minerals. You could also put down another lab and use one of your power plant pops onto it. You should also try to get a governor with intellectual for and extra 10% for all research tiles. It should look something like this.

7- lastly off is the robots and tradition tree. For traditions you rush for faith in science and then go for harmony. You also want to have two science ships at the end of discovery so you can assist research on your planet for even more tile buffs. Also for perks grab Technological Ascendency and then save for Voidborne.

8-Now for your robots you want to rush their modification point and give them power drills and build enough to fill up all your mining networks. Then you can just chill and rush through research and make sure if you get any more upgrades for labs grab them no matter what for even more research.

9-If any ai is near by you may need to grab one more system and turn it into a defense system so they can't reach your homeworld.

Also this guide will most likely be useless when the new update and expansion comes out.

Generally i will go for Growth speed modifiers in the research tree and build gene clinics on all my planets, using the health care campaign edict aswell as the Nutritional Plentitude policy if i can afford them. Whilst also using the encourage planetary growth decision.

Your guide is nice but i don't agree with your Government,Civics and traits.

For my tall empire i use the following.

Government:
Dictorial
Fanatic Xenophobe (for +20% pop growth and Starbase spam)
Materialist (for robots and +5% research speed)

Civics:
Post Apocalyptic (for 70% tomb world hability and +60% habability for all other worlds for colonisation spam)
Technocracy (Self Explanatory)

Traits:
Rapid Breeders (For pop spam to get research labs as fast and as much as possible)
Adaptive (To spam colonies even better and so pops don't get angry about habability)
Weak (won't be invading early game, gives a free trait slot)
Sedentary (also for a free trait slot, will get rid of later for extra pop growth from immigration)

@ApexPredatorOfDataVisualisation, I think you just gave me a perfect title for the guide.

@What's My Life, this is more like a sit back and relax build and it does get you super far ahead in research but it doesn't work in multiplayer because people aren't as dumb as ai. The only problem with this build would be getting the minerals but that's why you only stay in one system for 50 years max then you expand as fast as possible.
