Introduction
So, you want to change your avatar to somthing new, but Maxwell's brothers don't really appeal to you. So you want to make a custom avatar. This tutorial is what you opened, and it will tell you everything you need to make a new avatar. I assume you kind of know how to use the object editor, but aren't that good with it. I also reccomend that you start with somthing simple, like my buisness man. So let us begin.
Humanoid Tuturorial
To start, click on yourself. The "Use Notepad" menu will appear. Click on the "Pick Avatar" button.

A screen like this will appear. Click on "New."

Then a screen like this will appear.

Drag ALL of Maxwell's parts EXCEPT for the legs and torso to the trash.

Then click on the stamps button, which looks like a stamp (duh). Then, click on the notepad button and type in a humanoid. I use "Buisness Man" for this example.

A screen like this should appear. Select a part. I start with the head.

Then a ghostly head will be floating. Click where the head should go, or drag the head there. The end result should look like this.

Continue on with the rest of the body. Somtimes, a part will not go where it is supposed to be. Simply drag it close to where you want it to go, and then click the second arrow button (the first one will undo what you last did) and select the part you wish to move. Then, use the arrows to nudge it into place.

The legs are the hardest part, in my opinion. Oftentimes, Maxwell's leg (the one I told you not to delete, remember?) is larger then the new leg.

So, click on Maxwell's leg in the second arrow menu, and use the minus button to make it smaller.

Finally, name the avatar at the top, and click the arrow at the top left corner. (It will ask you if you want to save. You probobly do.)

Then, you will have to select the avatar you just made. Simply click the arrows at the bottom untill you see it, and click on it. Then click the check mark. Now we're done! Or are we?

Most likely, the arms and legs will go crazy when you walk. To fix it, go back to the select avatar screen, and scroll to the avatar you just made. Then, click on the Maxwells-Head-and-Banana button. There now should be many green boxes everywhere. Now, drag the messed-up arms and legs onto the right boxes, and position them using the arrows.

Now, you are (hopefully) done! Fine-tune it some more if you must.
Quadruped Tutorial
Now we have a nice Humanoid, but some people (like myself) would like an animal with four legs, like a pig, or a horse. For this example, we will use a unicorn.

Make a new avatar. Then, Reposition all of Maxwell's parts into the shape of the quadruped.

Now we can add some stamps. I start with the body.

Maxwell's Head is too fat, so we delete it. This, however, reset's the head's position. So turn on the green boxes, and drag the one for the head where it should go.

Many animals have Multi-Piece legs. Don't worry about them, just piece the legs together.

After a while, you should be done. I now have a Unicorn to play as.
Bipedal Animals
Just as proof that it's possible, here is a picture of a Jabberwock avatar.

A little tip for quadrupedal avatars: Turn the torso 90 degrees, that'll make clohes, backpacks and stuff appear on your quadruped's back instead of ther butt. Don't forget to turn the head and limbs back to normal though.

So, I'm trying to make an avatar, but the hair on the head is long and it goes above the body. So I move it back, and the head is floating. And I can't make it look right.
