Step One
Open your Command Prompt and type: cd "C:\users\(Your User Name)\documents.
Then a new line should appear.
Type: rmdir "MY PICTURES"
Now type EXIT to close the prompt.

(If it prompts "The system cannot find the file specified" then just skip on to the next step.)

If this does not work, try running Command Prompt as Administrator.
Step Two
Now open your Documents Folder.
Create a New Folder and name it My Pictures.
Now you can move any picture you want to the new folder and use it for a billboard!

Hey, I know I"m late to the party, but for those of you reading this with difficulty removing the directory from the Documents file (you follow instructions, still doesn't let you create "MY PICTURES" in the documents folder), try running Command Prompt as Admin!

search bar>cmd> *RIGHT CLICK COMMAND PROMPT* Run as administrator

This worked when I had Win 7. I've upgraded to 10 now it doesn't. It won't delete anything from the command prompt. I try to create a "My Pictures" folder in documents and it says it already exists. I look in my documents folder and I cannot find a "My Pictures" folder.

I simply

created A "My Pictures" folder within "Documents"

Right click on Documents and choose Properties...
In "General untick read only - apply to subfolders...
In Security add the user Everyone

Do the exact same to the My Pictures Folder

And it works fine

Again, this was due to Atari's... faulty assumption on there always being a directory named "My Pictures" in the Documents library folder. Incidentally, after I wrote that comment, MonotoneTim was streaming RCT3 (for the first time) and on his end, it was looking for the path "D:\Documents\My Pictures", which was apparently enough to confuse him for a bit because he didn't think D:\Documents existed. There is a way to check, ingame, where exactly RCT3's looking for the pictures - when the prompt for picking a picture comes up, it will indicate a path in the top-left corner of it. Make sure that path exists, and you're golden.

That's odd though when I originally wrote the guide it was intended for only windows 8, but someone pointed out that this also works on Vista. Sorry, I didn't intend to cause any confusion.

The instructions are slightly inaccurate, the actual location that RCT3 will check is inside wherever your "Documents" library folder is defined. It will then default to the "My Pictures" folder inside that library folder. This is due to a (faulty) assumption by Atari that the "My Pictures" library folder would always be in that location [Windows Vista changed the default folder to be "Pictures" instead of "My Pictures", which screwed it up for it and later editions]. (For reference, the folder on my computer is "F:\Documents\My Pictures" because I relocated the Documents folder to my F: instead of my OS partition).
