Regardless, lots of help so I'm not trying to complete and wipe out EVER SINGLE ENEMY on the map to find that one ace I might be missing or, as it appears, 2 or 3.

- R&D tier 1~3 = Rank 1 (Renfield R1, Robinson M91R, Lancaar M1R, LF Wasp No.1R, Hartman MS1R)
- R&D tier 4~5 = Rank 2 (Gallian-X1R, MAJ-X M1R, Lancaar M1R, Brondel M101XR, Sanders M3R)
- R&D tier 6~7 = Rank 3 (Gallian-A10R, Rising M9A1R, M2EQ-5R, LF-ASR No.1R, Ellias MA4R)
- R&D tier 8~9 = Rank 4 (Gallian-X20R, MAJ-X M30R, M2EQ-5R, Gut R, Sanders M8R)
- R&D tier 10~14 = Rank 5 (Renfield R11, Robinson M101R, SB9-7R, LF Wasp No.11R, Hartman MS10R)
For example, if you develop a tier 4 R&D machine gun, you will get rank 2 royal machine guns (MAJ-X M1R) while if you have tier 6 R&D sniper rifles, you will get rank 3 royal sniper rifles (LF-ASR No.1R).

Out of a pool of 4 weapons possible, this would come pretty close - and huge difference: you can re-farm the same chapter in VC4 to unlock the additional rewards; while it was locked to your one-time-save-game-reward-shuffle in VC1 (and unchangeable afterwards). But you had to redo a NG+ anway..

Arms achievement | Infirmary unlocks:
While I tend to agree with the "80% amount of rewards" - theory (rank doesn't matter, I still got rank 4 weapons on 15a, cause I did not upgrade the precision tier of rifles/smg) the unlock-condition are simplified compared to VC1, cause they now can be post-farmed on the same map!
My humble theory (and thanks to the final NG save I still had):
- mission 17a got me 2 tier 5 rewards (smg+mortar) with an A-rank & ace killed (and just checked: all star/leaders as well) but (!) cause I wanted to get over with that mission, I revived claude later on after the 5th or 6th try
- replayed the mission yesterday and after 13 or so tries to get no losses after the init-assault, I was later on awarded with 2 additional weapons
