For the obsessive-compulsive completionists...
Let's just skip the intro and cut to the actual content; I'm sure you all would rather keep playing the game than read through walls of text.

Currently, therer's no way to really tell if you've killed an ace or not in-game, but for the majority of the time each ace drops a unique weapon. Unfortunately, normal skirmish ace drops end up being identical weapon as some of the story mission ace drops. There's 10 of those overlapping identical drops and I'll list them separately so it's a 50/50 chance to try and hit the ace you missed (If you're unsure, it's probably better to try the skirmish map first as they are easier to complete usually). Bottom line is, if you cannot find a corresponding weapon in your equipment tab, chances are you missed that particular ace.

Latest update Nov. 6, 2018 - includes maps for all dlcs that have Ace weapons up to the expert skirmish pack.

In-game weapon list and how to obtain them
This is a list of all weapons that you need to obtain to complete the Excellence in Armament medal and the Arms Racer achievement for each class. It does not include any reward weapons from DLCs currently as they don't count towards medal / achievement.

Infirmary Rank 1 to Rank 5 weapons correspond to the order of weapons listed under the Mission Rewards tab. In other words, Rank 1 will only ever possibly give you the 1st weapon listed under the Mission Rewards for each class, and Rank 5 will only ever possibly give you the 5th weapon listed etc., with the exception of lancer mortars.

Enemy Ace Drops:

  • VB GW 2B, 4B, 7B(e)

Infirmary Rank 5 is not automatically unlocked. The criteria to unlock Rank 5 is to achievement 80% completion rate on all the following maps (verification needed):
2-1, 4-1, 4-3, 6-1, 9, 11, 13, 14, 15-1, 17-1, Squad E Assemble

Completion is factored by the following 5 conditions -
  • Obtain A Rank
  • Killing leader units (the ones with the gold CP emblem that breaks upon their deaths)
  • Killing tank units (including gatling guns and heavy AT guns)
  • No deaths
  • No KOs / evacuations
A few words at the end...
If you're looking for all weapon completion and are still missing weapons after killing all aces, then you're either missing boss kill drops (Vulcan / Crymaria / Nikola / Chiara) or Gallian/Federation rewards from killing leader units etc. I believe the actual weapons rewarded are random (later chapter boss kills reward correspond to infirmary rank 5 weapons and it's the only way to get the rank 5 weapons if you don't have infirmary rank 5 unlocked yet). You can obtain the reward weapons more easily by trying your luck at the infirmary and keep saving / loading until you get the ones you're missing.

in case anyone was wondering, the screenshots were actually saved from a Chinese guide, so credit goes to user "lzlzmc" for the initial Chinese guide and "psnine" for the source. I mostly just did the translation / editing and corrected the changes on the VB MT 1~3B(e) weapon series; the names were changed to VB PL 1~3B(e) in our release version and correspond to lancer weapon drops.

Also, this is the full list of aces and drops currently in-game that are relevant towards earning medals / achievements. If a map's not shown on here, it doesn't have an ace.

Hope this helps,

- ukie

Are the DLCs Ace Weapons such as those from Expert Skirmishes needed for the Platinum All Weapons Obtained Achievement and Decoration?
I assume not.

"You can get 5 different type of weapons (rifle, machine gun, lance, sniper rifle, grenadier mortar) and the tier of the royal weapons you get depends on the rank of your R&D upgrades for that weapon type:
- R&D tier 1~3 = Rank 1 (Renfield R1, Robinson M91R, Lancaar M1R, LF Wasp No.1R, Hartman MS1R)
- R&D tier 4~5 = Rank 2 (Gallian-X1R, MAJ-X M1R, Lancaar M1R, Brondel M101XR, Sanders M3R)
- R&D tier 6~7 = Rank 3 (Gallian-A10R, Rising M9A1R, M2EQ-5R, LF-ASR No.1R, Ellias MA4R)
- R&D tier 8~9 = Rank 4 (Gallian-X20R, MAJ-X M30R, M2EQ-5R, Gut R, Sanders M8R)
- R&D tier 10~14 = Rank 5 (Renfield R11, Robinson M101R, SB9-7R, LF Wasp No.11R, Hartman MS10R)
For example, if you develop a tier 4 R&D machine gun, you will get rank 2 royal machine guns (MAJ-X M1R) while if you have tier 6 R&D sniper rifles, you will get rank 3 royal sniper rifles (LF-ASR No.1R).

(sry can not edit and was at the limit anyway; the example got me the final tier 5 unlocked in the infarmary, cause anything else was already present (usually do a-ranks + ace + no losses...17a was my *yeah* first time crappy win :>)

IMO, the unlock conditions were reduced to:
- A-Rank (1)
- leader or ace (1) <- not sure
- KO'ed regular unit (1) or leader unit (2) weapons

Out of a pool of 4 weapons possible, this would come pretty close - and huge difference: you can re-farm the same chapter in VC4 to unlock the additional rewards; while it was locked to your one-time-save-game-reward-shuffle in VC1 (and unchangeable afterwards). But you had to redo a NG+ anway..

(farming achievements gotten so much easier now *whistle* and savescumming does still seem to work thx@Zermerus)

First off - awesome guide, helps me a lot to get those missing pieces (and your maps are awesome)
Arms achievement | Infirmary unlocks:
While I tend to agree with the "80% amount of rewards" - theory (rank doesn't matter, I still got rank 4 weapons on 15a, cause I did not upgrade the precision tier of rifles/smg) the unlock-condition are simplified compared to VC1, cause they now can be post-farmed on the same map!

My humble theory (and thanks to the final NG save I still had):
- mission 17a got me 2 tier 5 rewards (smg+mortar) with an A-rank & ace killed (and just checked: all star/leaders as well) but (!) cause I wanted to get over with that mission, I revived claude later on after the 5th or 6th try
- replayed the mission yesterday and after 13 or so tries to get no losses after the init-assault, I was later on awarded with 2 additional weapons

Ah well too bad. No ASR 11R for me.
Thanks for the guide anyway, it has been an awesome help to find those missing weapons. :)

Hey Huillam,
Thanks so much for point that out, I had a typo - it IS LF Wasp No. 11R, I stand corrected.
Huillam Nov 1, 2018 @ 6:35pm
I checked the japanese wiki and there's no ASR 11R. There's a LFワスプ No.11R which has to be the wasp (and I got a bunch of Wasp 11R so far).
According to some chinese forums it is a translation issue and there's not ASR 11R (altough I'd like to be wrong as I love that rifle).
Huillam Nov 1, 2018 @ 5:08pm
Was anyone able to get the LF-ASR No.11R from the infirmary?
I spent half an hour save scumming without success and translating some japanese site told me this "LF-ASR No.11R can only be obtained through the main line task reward" with the main line task reward being I imagine the reward for completing the various objectives through missions.
