Introducción

La Guerra Civil Española fue un conflicto bélico que ocurrió entre 1936 y 1939. Fue ocasionado tras un golpe de Estado del General Primo de Rivera, con la intención de tomar medidas tras la suspensión de la Constitución de 1876. Muchas de sus medidas no fueron muy recibidas, por lo que Primo de Rivera tuvo que dimitir tras este intento fallido.

Tras la dimisión de Primo de Rivera, en España surge la Segunda República en la que se aprueba una nueva Constitución, con el fin de estabilizar el país.
El 16 de febrero de 1936, se hacen unas elecciones en las que la izquierda obtiene poder frente a la derecha.
Todo esto ocasionó enfrentamientos entre estos dos bandos, provocando la muerte de un teniente de la izquierda como respuesta del líder del bando de la derecha.
Todo esto dio lugar al inicio de la Guerra Civil Española y con el alzamiento de un general español llamado Francisco Franco, quién con el apoyo de Alemania y Italia ganaría la guerra.

Instalación

A continuación voy a explicar paso a paso, como instalar este mod dentro de Call of Duty 2.

Paso 1

En primer lugar, tendremos que descargar el instalador del mod.
El instalador está a través de la página ModDB.
Aquí dejo a continuación el enlace:

Paso 2

Una vez hayamos descargado el instalador, deberemos ejecutarlo haciendo doble click sobre él.
Ya ejecutado, nos dirá el idioma para poder seguir el proceso de instalación. Elegimos nuestro idioma y procederemos a instalar el mod.
En unos segundos, nos saldrá una ventana en la que tendremos que pulsar en siguiente.
Después nos indicará en la siguiente ventana que pongamos un nombre del PC que estamos usando o si pertenecemos a una Organización. No escribáis nada y pulsar de nuevo en Siguiente.
Luego nos indicará donde queremos que se descarguen los archivos que necesitaremos, para poder incluirlos dentro de la carpeta Call of Duty 2.
Deberemos dejarlo así:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 2\
Por último, cuando ya hayamos hecho el paso anterior, lo siguiente será instalar el mod. Pulsamos en instalar y lo instalaremos.

La instalación no durará mucho. Si en el proceso de instalación os salta una alerta de que el editor es desconocido y si quieres que haga cambios en el equipo; le decís que si y de esta forma procederá a instalaros definitivamente todo el contenido.

Paso 3

Una vez se hayan instalado todos los archivos del mod, pulsaremos en el botón de Finalizar y saldremos de la ventana del instalador.
Ahora nos iremos a la dirección donde se instalaron los archivos:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 2\
Dentro de la carpeta de Call of Duty 2, veremos una carpeta con el nombre de mod1936sp.
Copiamos esa carpeta y la pegamos donde tengamos la carpeta de Call of Duty 2 en Steam.

Como último paso, lo que deberemos hacer es un acceso directo del archivo CoD2SP_s.
Sobre el acceso directo que hemos creado, pulsamos con el botón derecho del ratón y seleccionamos la opción de propiedades.
Dentro de propiedades, en la opción que pone Acceso Directo se verá este enlace:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty 2\CoD2SP_s.exe"
Después de las comillas, escribiremos esto:
+set fs_game mod1936sp

El resultado sería así:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty 2\CoD2SP_s.exe" +set fs_game mod1936sp

Cuando ya hayamos modificado el acceso directo, pulsamos en aplicar para que los cambios hayan hecho efecto y pulsamos en aceptar.

Y después de esto, solamente tendrás que hacer doble clic en el acceso directo y jugar directamente al mod.

Paso extra: sin acceso directo

Si algunos preferís ejecutar el mod sin la necesidad de crear un acceso directo, entonces seguir estos pasos:
- Lo primero que tenéis que hacer es ir a vuestra biblioteca. Una vez allí selecciona Call of Duty 2. Sobre el título pulsa el botón derecho del ratón y luego ve a propiedades.
- Una vez dentro, en la opción General veréis debajo una opción que pone Parámetros de lanzamiento. Allí deberéis escribir esto:
+set fs_game mod1936sp

Una vez escrito, cierra la ventana de propiedades. Ejecuta Call of Duty 2 y verás que en vez de ejecutarse el juego, se ejecutará el mod de la Guerra Civil Española.

Nota: Recuerda que al hacer esto, no podrás jugar Call of Duty 2 ya que solo se lanzará el mod. Si quieres jugar Call of Duty 2, solamente debes ir de nuevo a Parámetros de lanzamiento y eliminar lo que escribiste.

Problemas conocidos

- Si al ejecutar el acceso directo les aparece un mensaje de error llamado: "Failed to find Steam", eso es porque el mod no se puede ejecutar debido a que le falta un archivo.
Para ello debemos hacer lo siguiente:
Deberemos ir al Disco Local (C) y después a Archivos de Programa (x86) donde tengamos instalado el Steam.
Dentro de la carpeta Steam, tenemos que copiar un archivo llamado Steam.dll
Cuando lo hayamos copiado, lo pegaremos en la carpeta de Call of Duty 2.
Después de que hayamos copiado este archivo, ya podrán jugar al mod de manera que ya no les salga ese mensaje de error.

- Si les aparece una ventana con este mensaje: "El programa no puede iniciarse porque falta mss32.dll en el equipo. Intente reinstalar el programa para corregir este problema.", es porque al juego le falta ese archivo para poder ejecutarse.
Para ello podéis acceder a través de Google y descargarlo manualmente.

- En la misión "¡Sangre y ... frío!", al matar al comisario, si se llega a la puerta aparecerá el mensaje "Misión Fallida. Te han descubierto". Algunas personas han sufrido este extraño error, pero gracias a un usuario hay una solución para esto.
Lo que tendréis que hacer será reiniciar el PC. Luego una vez reiniciado, cuando volváis a entrar al mod, seleccionar la misión en el apartado "Selección de misión". No pulséis en continuar partida porque de lo contrario el error seguirá estando ahí. Una vez hecho esto, no deberíais tener ningún problema para superar esta misión.

- En el mod, puede pasar que las texturas no se carguen bien. Para arreglar este problema deberéis ir a opciones, gráficos y cambiar la opción de DirectX 9 a 7 (Gracias a Tonibum por esta solución).

Introduction

The Spanish Civil War was a war that occurred between 1936 and 1939. It was caused by a coup d'état by General Primo de Rivera, with the intention of taking action after the suspension of the 1876 Constitution. Many of its measures were not very received, so Primo de Rivera had to resign after this failed attempt.

After the resignation of Primo de Rivera, in Spain the Second Republic arises in which a new Constitution is approved, in order to stabilize the country.
On February 16, 1936, elections are held in which the left gains power against the right.
All this caused clashes between these two sides, causing the death of a lieutenant on the left in response to the leader of the right wing.
All this led to the start of the Spanish Civil War and the rise of a Spanish general named Francisco Franco, who with the support of Germany and Italy would win the war.

Installation

Next I will explain step by step how to install this mod inside Call of Duty 2.

Note:
Before you start with the first step, you have to make sure that Call of Duty 2 is in English, because if you have it in German, for example, you will get errors with German NPC models.
It's a very strange mistake, but thanks to a user telling me about it, so for those of you who have the game in that language, make sure it's 100% in English.
As for the other languages, I don't know if this type of error will also appear or any other, but just in case, follow the same instructions that I am giving.

Step 1

First of all, we will have to download the mod installer.
The installer is through the ModDB page.

Step 2

Once we have downloaded the installer, we must execute it by double clicking on it.
Once executed, it will tell us the language to be able to follow the installation process. We choose our language and we will proceed to install the mod.
In a few seconds, we will get a window in which we will have to click on next.
Then you will indicate in the next window that we put a name of the PC that we are using or if we belong to an Organization. Do not write anything and press Next again.
Then it will indicate where we want the files that we will need to be downloaded, in order to include them in the Call of Duty 2 folder.
We should leave it like this:
C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Activision \ Call of Duty 2 \
Finally, when we have already done the previous step, the following will install the mod. Click on install and install it.

The installation will not last long. If in the installation process you get an alert that the editor is unknown and you want to make changes to the computer; he decides that yes and in this way he will proceed to permanently install all the content.

Step 3

Once all the mod files have been installed, click on the Finish button and we will exit the installer window.
Now we will go to the address where the files were installed:
C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Activision \ Call of Duty 2 \
Inside the Call of Duty 2 folder, we will see a folder with the name of mod1936sp_eng.
We copy that folder and paste it where we have the Call of Duty 2 folder on Steam.

As a last step, what we should do is a shortcut of the CoD2SP_s file.
On the shortcut that we have created, we click with the right mouse button and select the properties option.
Within properties, in the option that puts Shortcut you will see this link:
"C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Call of Duty 2 \ CoD2SP_s.exe"
After the quotes, we will write this:
+ set fs_game mod1936sp_eng

The result would be like this:
"C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Call of Duty 2 \ CoD2SP_s.exe" + set fs_game mod1936sp_eng

When we have already modified the shortcut, click on apply so that the changes have taken effect and click on accept.

And after this, you will only have to double click on the shortcut and play directly to the mod.

Extra step: no shortcut

If some of you prefer to run the mod without the need to create a shortcut, then follow these steps:
- The first thing you have to do is go to your library. Once there, select Call of Duty 2. Right-click on the title and then go to properties.
- Once inside, in the General option you will see below an option that says Launch Parameters. There you must write this:
+ set fs_game mod1936sp_eng

Once written, close the properties window. Run Call of Duty 2 and you will see that instead of running the game, the Spanish Civil War mod will run.

Note: Remember that by doing this you will not be able to play Call of Duty 2 as it will only launch the mod. If you want to play Call of Duty 2, just go back to Launch Options and delete what you typed.

Known issues

- If you get an error message called "Failed to find Steam" when running the shortcut, that's because the mod can't be run due to a missing file.
To do this we must do the following:
We must go to the Local Disk (C) and then to Program Files (x86) where we have Steam installed.
Inside the Steam folder, we have to copy a file called Steam.dll
When we have copied it, we will paste it into the Call of Duty 2 folder.
After we have copied this file, you will be able to play the mod so that you no longer get that error message.

- If a window appears with this message: "The program can't start because mss32.dll is missing from your computer. Please try reinstalling the program to correct this problem.", it's because the game is missing that file in order to run.
To do this you can access through Google and download it manually.

- In the mission "Blood and... cold!", when you kill the commisar, if you reach the door, the message "Mission Failed. You have been discovered" will appear. Some people have suffered from this strange bug, but thanks to a user there is a solution for this.
What you will have to do is restart the PC. Then once restarted, when you re-enter the mod, select the mission in the "Mission Selection" section. Do not click on continue game because otherwise the bug will still be there. Once this is done, you should have no problem getting through this mission.

- In the mod, it may happen that the textures do not load correctly. To solve this problem you must go to options, graphics and change the option from DirectX 9 to 7 (Thanks to Tonibum for this solution).

Este error se debe al hecho de que has crackeado el juego. Como veo que no lo tienes en tu biblioteca, entonces está claro que esa es la raíz del problema.

Eso o solo copiar la carpeta del mod. Tanto una como otra valen. No te preocupes que de esto se habló mucho en todos estos años y parece que o una de dos, o no saben leer o me están vacilando. Más claro no lo puedo poner.
Yo ya digo desde aquí que la próxima persona que me vuelva a decir sobre que el paso 3 no le funciona, que se lo vuelva a leer todas las veces que hagan falta. Así hasta que se dé cuenta de que el paso es tan sencillo de lo que ellos creen.

Desconozco si ya hablaron de esto, pero si esta guía no funciona para alguien, solo copien todos los archivos que se instalaron con el mod (la carpeta, el ejecutable y el icono) y peguen en la carpeta de COD2 de Steam, creen el acceso directo del ejecutable y añadan la línea "+set fs_game mod1936sp" al final de las comillas en el apartado de Destino.
