Introduction
HandyMan can be a real pain, especially in 1999 mode and that's why I want to share this tactic that I've developed. I will go over all things necessary to beat him. This means I will cover weapons, vigors, gear and most importantly the tactic. I hope this guide will be usefull to anyone reading it. Please leave your feedback and thoughts.

Weapons
When fighting Handymen there are often different launchers and weapons laying around, but which to take?
Here I will guide you through the ones that worked best for me.

Primary:

Triple R Machine Gun
Probably the most common gun in the whole game made by The Founders. You will definitely want to have one of these with upgraded extended clip. Once you send crows on the handyman he will be stunned and you will then want to shoot his heart until you empty your whole clip.

Repeater
This is a modified version of the gun described above but note that it has less rounds, however it also hes less recoil and deals a bit more damage. Which of these you'll pick is entierly up to you.

Secondary:

Pig Volley Gun
This gun can often be pulled out of tears along with a box with two or three more of them. They have a lot of ammo, shoot fast and reload rather quickly. The same gun modified by the Vox populi is called Hail Fire.

Optional:

Barnstormer RPG
This is a very heavy weapon but it doesn't have a lot of ammo and reloads slowly. If you use it make sure there are Vollery guns around that you will swap after your ammo runs out.

Vigors
Here is the vigor combo I recommend for fighting Handymen. Under each is a small tactic description.

Murder of Crows

This vigor is most effective against handymen, it will result in a stun effect which will stop him from moving or attacking for a few seconds. Make sure you have full salts before you go into combat and use this very frequently. Don't worry, Elizabeth will throw you salts at least once and that will be enough.

Undertow

You will use the vigor to swipe away any heavy hitters before the handyman comes (like firemen).
Find a position near the edge of the street, pull them in and knock them off. As soon as you see the handyman switch to Murder of Crows
Gear
This is the most important part of my guide. This gear can be found throughout the game at random locations, but there is certain probability it will be at some places.
The gear you will want to equip is as follows:

HAT: SHELTERED LIFE Grants you brief invulnerability while getting med kits and food. This is great because where there are handymen there are also tears to med kits but it's hard to get them while being thrown around the level. This should make it easier and will potentially give your shield more time to recover.

SHIRT: WINTER SHIELD Jumping on or off a skyline (also works with sky hooks) will freeze your health and shiled making you invulnerable for about 5 seconds. Since on all levels with handymen there are skylines this is the most helpful gear. Jump on and off, shoot him from the ground and when your shield goes off jump to the skyline again and repeat.

PANTS: ANGRY STOMPERS It is known that when fighting a handyman you will probably be low on health. This gear will make you deal twice the damage at those times.

BOOTS:

FIT AS A FIDDLE In case you die, when revived you will have maximum health. This is very useful.

HANDYMAN NEMESIS This can only be acquired after completing the Industrial Revolution DLC. It make you deal 50% more damage to handymen. This is similar to Angry Stompers but it works all the time, not just when you are low on health.
Tactic
You are probably here because you got stuck on 1999 mode and can't get pass a HandyMan so I will keep this short and simple. I will also assume you have equipped the same or similar weapons/vigors/gear as I suggested.

note: Things don't always go as planned so before the fight look at where the guns and tears are placed.

Before the HandyMan comes:
Make sure you have max health and salts, you'll need them. Also kill the last enemies with some gun that you will immediately swap with the guns you will use to fight the HandyMan.

During the fight:
Set Murder of Crows as your primary vigor and stun him, while he is stunned get to a place where the skyline is closest to the ground. Jump on it and back down about 8m away from the HandyMan, Winter Shield will make you invulnerable so stun him with the vigor and shoot you secondary weapon at him (the Volley Gun). Keep stunning him as long as you don't need to reload, once you do jump on the skyline and reload, then press c to turn around and jump back where you were previously. Repeat this tactic untill you run out of your secondary ammo. When your Volley Gun is empty switch to your primary weapon (machine gun or repeater), stun him with the vigor (be careful that you have some left to do this) and while he is stunned shoot his heart. Keep shooting and stunning so he doesn't move or jump at you. At this point he is practically dead.

After the fight:
Congratulations, you've done it!
Feel free to reward yourself, it's time to go eat a pineapple from the garbage.

The last few handymans are really easy just use Charge+Aid for invulnerablility with the Anti-Handyman boots (50% more damage) and Brittle-Skinned pants (double damage against charged at targets) and unload a clip of the Triple R Machinegun or shotgun and boom - he dead. Just reapply the invulnerability when it wears off (wait until he charges up his next attack) while shooting.

This is a great guide. One additional point: buy the Murder of Crows Boost/Aid (I can't remember which is which) that doubles the length of the stun, as soon as you can. The longer the handyman is stunned, the more time you have to shoot him, deal with other mobs, or heal and shield up. Now, please do a guide for Lady Comstock. That b**ch kicks my arse every time I go up against her.

You forgot to mention the Return to Sender vigor, wich can create a shield against any kind of damage. So, just use it and relax while he can't damage you.
