THIS GUIDE IS NOT QUITE DONE

Cadria Item Shop is in Simplified Chinese. That's a new way to write Chinese that the government of actual China (as opposed to Taiwan etc.) made up and forced everybody to learn for some reason.

UPDATE: The developers are now working on an official English translation, however, it has a few rough edges. I will include the official English translation next to my own when they differ.

Don't know Chinese? Me neither! But I'm a stubborn bastard and a hobby linguist and I can do all the hard work of figuring out what the devil is going on for you.

But that takes a long time to mess with because sometimes, automatic text-recognition doesn't work on a given screenshot, so I have to actually sit down and learn how to draw a very complicated Chinese character in order to look it up.

Also, I can't tell you the class title, name, or stats of a character I don't have yet. This guide will be updated over time if I keep playing this goofy game!

If you see the same thing referred to with multiple different names, chances are I couldn't find its ingame (Chinese) name so I guessed, and then later I found and translated the Chinese name, so I started using the new name and forgot to go back and fix the ones I wrote from before I found the name.

Got all that? Okay.

Thanks for reading! Have fun!

Yell at me if a specific part of the game is confusing so I can add it to the guide!
If you get stuck
Since the game is in Chinese, you might not know what the main quest line is asking you to do.

Fortunately, if the quest is asking you for a non-repeatable task and you've already done it, it will count as soon as you get the quest. So just do everything and you'll suddenly have the next five quests done out of nowhere:
  • Hire all available Heroes
  • Fully equip all of your Heroes (where possible)
  • Spend all of your Artisans' skill points
  • Craft every kind of item at least once each
  • Give a customer a good deal
  • Give a customer a bad deal
  • Suggest another item to a customer
  • Do a Craze
  • Complete all the quests sitting in your Town
  • Buy one of each kind of shop furniture
  • Upgrade one of each kind of shop furniture to the same level
  • Upgrade each of your processing machines
  • Upgrade your Town buildings (especially the Town Hall)
  • Unlock the latest Tavern map and run it at least once
  • Use the egg capsule raffle thingy in the furniture shop
  • Use a daily free spin
  • Join a guild
  • Expand your shop size

If it seems too daunting for you to do, then it's probably not what the quest is asking.

There are probably other tasks the stupid quest will ask that I haven't covered here. I don't think the main quest asks for mastering an item recipe, at least not until much later in the game.

Fixed Position
Normally, clicking on your shop's pieces will pop up a radial menu with more options and let you move the item around.

Turn this to the glowing green 开 to disable that so you can click your resource boxes without the stupid menu getting in the way.

Turn it back to 关 when you need to move things or upgrade shop parts.

Tavern
The Tavern (酒馆) is unlocked by the main story shortly before the Town is.

The Tavern allows Heroes to be sent out on Adventures (探险). To do this, select one of the open slots on the bottom, select an available Adventure, assign at least one Hero (and no more than three), and click the button on the right.

To use two Heroes, you must have at least one Lv. 5 Hero. To use three, you must have at least one Lv. 10 Hero. This does not require that high-level Hero to be the one to go on said Adventure.

Each kind of Adventure offers a specific crafting item unique only to this Adventure. This item will only be awarded if the Adventure is a success. When selecting Heroes, the bar on the top shows the total power needed to reach certain milestones:
  • Red: No chance
  • Yellow: 80% success
  • Green: 95% success
  • Rainbows: 100% success

Like crafting items, an Adventure takes a certain amount of time. In addition, all Heroes used will then be unavailable for any other combat task until the Adventure is completed + time is taken to rest.

The time taken to rest is equal to the time the Adventure took, but is doubled if the Hero is injured while on the Adventure. This means a Hero who goes on an Adventure is unavailable for either 2x or 3x the nominal time the Adventure takes.

Heroes can become injured even if the Adventure is a success. Injury is per-Hero - not all Heroes will necessarily be injured simultaneously just because one was. I do not know if the injury rate is related to whether the specific Hero is too low-power for the Adventure or not.

Upon performing enough Adventures in an area, the Boss becomes available. When the Boss is available, only a single Adventure may be performed there in an attempt to defeat the boss. Until that Adventure completes, the other free slots must choose a different Adventure.

Defeating a Boss awards 3 Capsule Tokens and advances the Adventure to the next level, to a maximum of V (5). After defeating the 5th Boss of an Adventure, it will stay Rank V permanently.

Work Orders & Faction Orders
Work Order
Work Orders (商铺订单 Shop Order) become available with the Market, which is obtained with a Lv. 5 Town Hall.

First, click on the board at the top of the Tavern (pictured) to see a list of possible patrons. Each of the nine Patrons has three preferred items and will only appear when you have crafted enough of each item for them to know you can supply them.

Unlocked Patrons will occasionally appear in the Shop with a [!] overhead. Click them and click the green button in the bottom-right to accept their Work Order. They will they move to the Tavern and stand next to the board. (If you have more than one Patron at once, they will all stand side by side.)

Once you have accepted a Work Order, you must craft the specific items requested of the Patron and give them to them. They will only accept each item in bulk - i.e. if they ask for six of a specific bow, you must turn in all six of that bow at once. Be sure to make space in your inventory to hold all of these!

Turning in one of the three item sets requested will advance you one stage in the Work Order. This adds one of the items on the bottom bar to your reward and raises the Gold received.
  • Stage 1 reward is usually a Blue-quality item
  • Stage 2 reward is usually a shop-upgrading resource
  • Stage 3 reward is usually 20 Diamonds

Each Patron has a relationship value that increases or drops depending on how well that Patron's Work Orders are fulfilled. I'm not sure how this affects their requests, but presumably they will ask for more advanced items and reward more Gold with higher values.

Faction Order
Faction Orders (势力订单 Faction Order) become available with a Lv. 9 Town Hall.

Town - General
Basics
The Town (城镇) is unlocked after completing enough of the main quest line. Its button is in the bottom left when in the regular shop view (pictured).

With the exception of the bottom-left group of "resource" buildings, which allow the purchase of basic crafting resources such as Copper, all Town buildings can be upgraded with Gold or Diamonds.

None of your other buildings can be a higher level than the Town Hall (城镇大厅).

Upgrading and investing
Spending money on a building is called Investing.
  • For the resource buildings, Investing causes an immediate gain of a resource such as Copper, basically purchasing crafting materials.
  • For the other buildings, Investing triggers a buff that strengthens with building level.

(See Town Buildings for a list of buffs, as they are unique per building.)

Investing costs more the higher the level of the building is, and Investing five times in a building will upgrade it to the next level.

None of your other buildings can be a higher level than the Town Hall (城镇大厅).. If you continue to Invest at this point, they will stay at the same level, take the money, and trigger the investment effect. The game warns you (in Chinese) when you attempt to Invest in a building that can't level up further.

As buildings in the Town are upgraded...
  • Craftsmen become unlocked or gain higher max level
  • Heroes become unlocked or gain higher max level
  • The building's investment buff becomes stronger

(Upgrading the Town Hall is the primary way to unlock new buildings outright.)

Resource-gathering buildings show no level, which implies they can't be directly upgraded. I don't quite understand what the upgrade criteria is for them at this time.

Overview Window
While in the Town view, the topmost button on the left is the Overview icon (pictured).

Clicking this will produce a window showing the tree of what buildings are needed at what levels for other buildings. On the right is a quick button to jump to the Town Hall, and four unlockable features to be discussed later (see Town Hall under Buildings).

Click and drag up and down on the left side to see which buildings lead to which other buildings (... except it seems that they are all obtained by leveling the Town Hall..?)

None of your other buildings can be a higher level than the Town Hall (城镇大厅).

SImply upgrade the one directly above the desired building in the list until the new one shows up. Buildings that have an English number in them most likely require the Town Hall to be that number in level.

Clicking on any building you already have will quickly jump to that building.

Building Quests
Some buildings will enter a quest state when upgraded to a particular level. When this occurs, the building becomes unusable until the Quest is completed.

Completing the Quest will give an immediate reward and restore the normal function of the building.

Quests that require combat will usually have more than one character slot. All such slots must be filled - characters are automatically selected for any slots left empty, so please choose the exact ones you want to use.

I am not sure if combat Quests take up characters / stop them from going on Expeditions.

    Faction War
Faction War (势力战争) is unlocked with a Lv. 12 Town Hall. You can access it by clicking General [Uriel? Cyril?] (守军将领 酉瑞尔) in the Tavern.

During a Faction War, the player must help one of the game's three Factions against an unknown invading army. A new War starts every... I don't know, probably every month? When the War changes I'll put down the time.

Each ongoing War alternates between two Phases:
    • Supply Phase (筹备阶段 Preparation Phase)
    • Combat Phase (战斗阶段)

There is no hard time limit for these - they continue until a goal is reached by the collaboration of all players.

    Supply Phase
During this phase, players must supply specific items to the war effort. This will earn Contribution to the Faction itself (same as Faction Orders), as well as an apparently separate Supply Contribution that persists only for the current War.

Items given to the Faction War will return 100% of experience, but only 54% of purchase price. (The percentage might be variable; look for a number in the topright of the window.)

Supplying more items during the Supply Phase will make the consequent Combat Phase easier.

    Combat Phase
During Combat Phase, Heroes are sent to help fight the good fight. The player may choose any of three levels of difficulty.

In addition to earning Contribution for the Faction itself (same as Faction Orders), an apparently separate Combat Contribution is earned that persists only for the current War.
    Other Game Mechanics
    Quality
Every time you produce an item, it rolls for what quality it is. The qualities are:

    • Green: Excellent (优艮)
    • Blue: Exquisite (精致)
    • Purple: ??
    • Orange: ??
    • Red: ??

    Decor
Decor (装饰点数) is a measure of how pretty your shop is (or rather how much gaudy crap is crammed into it.) This is more than merely cosmetic; a higher Decor increases the chances of producing higher-quality items.

In fact, it is impossible to produce items of a given quality level (excluding recipe mastery) unless your shop reaches a certain Decor milestone. It is, apparently, never possible to produce Red items from Decor score.

Mastering an item recipe will cause you to always produce Green or, for lower-tier recipes, Blue with every try. This changes the rate of receiving a higher quality.

    For normal items
    • 40 Decor: Green 5%
    • 200 Decor: Blue 2%, Green 5.5060%
    • 1000 Decor: ??
    • 5000 Decor: ??

    Craze
Partway through the game, you will begin generating Flyers and unlock Crazes through the icon of Fina in the topright corner (pictured). Her dialogue balloon shows how many Flyers you have.

Selling enough items will fill up what we will call the Craze Bar. When the Craze Bar is full, you can consume 1 Flyer to start a Craze with the following benefits:
    • Doubles how many Heroes can stand in your shop at once
    • Vastly increases how quickly Heroes move and how fast they replace each other after you make them a deal
    • Vastly increases the price of all of your items

I thought that it also made item production faster, but I may have merely had an Investment buff active that I forgot about as my second Craze did not speed up item production at all.

The Craze lasts a short amount of time, which can be extended by leveling up the Market.

Clicking Fina's button with no Flyers (or, if you have at least 1, clicking and then clicking the magnifying icon in the topright) will open a menu with further information I've translated below.

The "target sales" for a Craze begins at 800 (I think), and can only increase in multiples of 100. I don't know what the exact formula is at this time.

The green tab next to "Statistics" displays the top players in terms of high Craze scores.

    Characters / Overview
There are two kinds of "character" in Cadria Item Shop:
    • 19 Artisans (工匠), whose skill values add up to determine what items you can craft and how fast
    • 42 Heroes (英模), who you send on Expeditions and otherwise fight with

    Artisans

Every Artisan takes up one slot. To purchase a new slot, you must either pay Diamonds, or wait until you reach a certain level to pay Gold.

    • ...
    • Lv. 15: #8 for 40,000 Gold

There are three qualities of Artisan, represented by their hammer:

    • A wooden hammer signifies a novice (晋通) Artisan, who gains 5 skill points per level and has 2 skills to choose from
    • A silver hammer signifies a skilled (巧手) Artisan, who gains 7 skill points per level and has 2 skills to choose from
    • A golden hammer signifies a Grandmaster (大师) Artisan, who gains 9 skill points per level and has 3 skills to choose from
All of the skills available to your Artisan will start at the same value as their skill points per level - i.e. a novice has two skills at 5, a skilled Artisan has 2 skills at 7, and a Grandmaster has 3 skills at 9.

All of your Artisans who share a skill will pool them together to determine the final value. For instance, two Artisans with 5 in the same skill will add together to 10. This total is further increased by Investment buffs.

Every item in the game has a requirement in at least one crafting skill. If you don't meet that skill requirement, you can't craft that item.

The crafting skills and their self-professed affected item categories are:
    锻造
    Forging
    护甲 Armor
    Armorsmithing
    武器 Arms
    Weaponsmithing
    木工
    Woodworking
    制皮

    炼金
    Alchemy
    符文
    Rune Lore
    附魔
    Enchanting
    镶嵌
    Gem Setting

    Heroes
Unlike Artisans, Heroes do not have formally identified ranks or qualities, though it is possible that later-acquired Heroes may be stronger than earlier ones. (I haven't determined yet.)

Heroes belong to one of six classes:
    • 战士 Warrior
    • 骑士 Knight
    • 黑魔导 Black Mage
    • 白魔导 White Mage
    • 刺客 Assassin
    • 游侠 Ranger

You begin the game with Sean and Kurara, respectively a Warrior and a Black Mage.

Heroes have a power level that corresponds to their base level as well as the power added by their equipment. A newly-acquired Hero has a maximum level of 5, which is increased by leveling up the building associated with them (see Town - Buildings.)

Heroes have the following equipment slots (I can't find a canon name for any):
    • Weapon
    • Body
    • Head
    • Arm
    • Leg
    • Worn Accessory (e.g. ring)
    • Held Accessory (e.g. potion)
    • [unlockable slot I don't have on anybody yet]

A Hero may have a different set of allowed and preferred items for each slot. A green item is optimal, a yellow item has a slightly increased break chance, and a red item has a severely increased break chance. These aptitudes have no effect on the item's power level. Any item not listed for a character cannot be equipped.

Maybe they thought "Chinese" was used as a slur? I'll try renaming the guide.

Steam succombed to insanity. I had to click to un-blur your "offensive" content. What does steam consider offensive? Your main pic for your guide on translating from CHN to ENG is the US Flag over the english flag

    Have you:
    1) unlocked the recipe for armour
    2) hired the artisan by clicking the artisan button on the left hand side of main screen (above heroes button)
-there will be lots of squares where the portraits of artisans go, you click under their portrait to hire them. Hope this helps

I'm level 4, and I can't hire the armorer and I have the slot for the table btw. I have customers require armors, but I can't build because I don't have the armorer. I'm stuck, help

Hey FibS, your guide is super helpful. I know Chinese but sometimes I just breeze through all the dialogue and completely miss the tutorials. Just want to let you know I appreciate the guide and offer my knowledge in Chinese if you need the help!

The developers are currently working on an English translation for the game.

However, the official translation has... some issues. That said, I will include the official English translation next to my translation, when they differ.

    Main Quest.
Then you build 2 of these leather containers and get 1000 gold.
The following quest was unfortunately already over with me when finishing something or someone (building or heroes) on Level 5 upgrade reward 55 diamonds. Unfortunately some unified quest will be fulfilled in my quest quest what on level 2 then improve on level 3 each quest 1000 gold more quest, each with 1100 gold.

Another pair of main quest then I am in the storage upgrade Main Quest.:steamfacepalm:

Cemetery Adventure. In the tavern you get red crystals as raw material.
