By Glimmer
Notice how terribly pink Japan is? How horribly misfit some nation's color are? Well never fear, for I am here to tell you how to change it my dear friend and within a space of a few minutes you can change any countries color to whatever you desire.

The simple way to do it.
WARNING: Changing the color of a country changes the checksum, and therefore renders you unable to play in servers unless everyone has the same files, therefore, all the countries would have to have the exact same color.

Changing your country's color is really not difficult, it's as easy as going into the game files and altering some numbers.

To start off, open your computer section from the windows option, you know the little circle at the bottom left corner of your screen. Then click on computer.

Once your there, just go to whatever has steam on it, usually whatever holds you memory like OS. When your in there go to program files or wherever else you keep steam.

Then click on steam, and go to steamapps. After that, click on common. After that, click on victoria 2. Once your there, go to common. When you are in common, go to countries.

So far at the top it should say Steam->steamapps->common->victoria 2->common->countries.

When your in the countries file, you'll see a big list of all the countries you can play as in the game. Click on the country you want to change the color of.

Once your in the countries file, you will see at the top color= and a sequence of three numbers. These numbers represent the values in Microsoft paint.

Open up Paint, and click on edit colors. You will notice Red, Green and Blue have numbers representing their values. Fiddle around until you have the color you want, and then change the numbers in the file to what you want.

The first number in the sequence is red, the second Green, and the third is blue. Then make sure to save the file, and change nothing else. After the file has been saved, close everything and start the game. You'll notice the country has changed colors, congratulations!

You don't have to use Microsoft Paint to change the color. You just open it, dabble with the color, and see what numbers mean what color. Then you enter it for the files in Victoria 2.
