==THE AUTHOR OF THIS MOD IS HAVOC, I AM MERELY POSTING IT HERE.==

The game has a notorious LOD problem where pedestrian LOD is always set to the lowest models when on Ultra, and only seems to work on Low. Even then, the models only pop in when close to you, which can be jarring. I've come across an anonymous modder on 4ch who made a patch for the .exe that forces pedestrian models to always display the highest quality models, and I'm here to share that. Below are the directions:

1. Download PPF-o-Matic[www.romhacking.net] and Yakuza 0 LOD Mod[community.pcgamingwiki.com] and extract their contents somewhere convenient.
2. Open PPF-o-Matic.
3. Click 'Load CD-Image File'.
4. Set 'Files of type' as 'All Files'.
5. Choose Yakuza0.exe (<path-to-game>\media\).
6. Click 'Load PPF-File' and select yakuza0-lodmod-b#.ppf.
7. Click 'Apply PPF-File'.
!8! While the author reccomends to set "Geometry Quality" to "High" (since the hex editing seems to affect that particular setting), I haven't noticed any difference between "High" and "Ultra" aside from a performance loss in the former.

A few things to take note of. This may break a few things on later versions of the game, additionally, it may also significantly impact performance. More info about the patch itself can be found in this thread:

I hope you people might find this helpful, and enjoy!

Hello Nexxus, sorry for the late reply. Probably not, since this patcher was made to address issues that the game had at launch, which I believe have been fixed since.

Does this work with Update 4?

Thanks for the response, another steam user already helped me out. For anyone else curious you can use x64dbg and a HexEditor.

You might wanna ask Havoc that, he's probably using a hex editor.
