How to win battles with little or no troops on your side

Try having a silenced sniper rifle and at least 5 magazines , having an assault rifle in the third weapon slot can be useful too just around 4-3 mags necessary, then fill the remaining space with healing items and a grenade just in case, Getting a silenced weapon and nice camouflage can be really useful as long as you keep your distance,still you should have a decent amount of armor too, if aiming with sniper rifles its hard try slowing down your mouse speed, it gets really easier that way.
Dont let the enemy go around you take them out as they get closer or try to go sideways of your position, go for headshots if you are low on ammo,also dont go too far from the starting point as you might have to go back to get more ammo for your weapons,just keep an eye on it.
If you have troops try setting them on an aera with lots of cover or the top of a hill , having the high ground can be useful for them, they will attract most of the enemys attention and you can flank them and take them out one by one without anyone noticing
With this tactic it might take you some time to win the battle by yourself but eventually you'll make it, this tactic is also useful for when capturing/defending towns when you might be low on troops and the enemy has enough to spare,

it was just that easy to get to that level so fast, id be doing 95% of the work during battles employing that strategy, the game has changed a lot now so its more difficult but still possible
