Report Leifnarr's death to his family is a miscellaneous bugged quest, so it cannot be completed. There are 2 possible solutions:

What to do to actually complet the mission

You must talk to Grosta, Leifnarr's wife, before finding his dead body, so mission is activated before that happens.

If it is too late, type after pressing "ª" (to open console) SetStage E3EA5 30 , it is important that you press spacebar between E3EA5 and 30. This "cheat" will make you able to talk Grosta about her husband death, it does not complete the mission. It fix the bug completely!

Hello Silverwater, it is without the point in between, but make sure to type "E3EA5", not "E3A5". That may be the reason it's not working for you

Is the command promt SetStage.E3A5 or SetStage E3A5 because I'm seeing complient script not found? Worst case scenario, the last update murdered whatever stability the bugged quest had. F U TODD!!!
