Quick Achievement Guide

An achievement guide that helps you get 100% in achievements without resorting to Google!

Introduction

Hello! The achievements in Episode II might look easy, but sometimes they're not. For instance, the "I Love Tails" achievement isn't a commonly unlocked one. Some of the achievements need dedication to unlock.

Hopefully with this guide, you won't have to look up Google or search like I did. I'm compiling all my recent searches for how to finish both the easy and the troublesome achievements. I'm assuming that you know what is your Tag Actions button - and if you don't, please find it in the settings! I will refer to it as the combo button.

The Adventure Begins

Clear SYLVANIA CASTLE ZONE, Act 1.

This achievement is the first you'll get, you can't miss it. When you start a new game, you end up at Sylvania Castle Zone Act 1. Just finish this act, and the achievement is yours.

I'm not sure why SEGA places this kind of achievement in their games.

Rolling Combo!

Activate the Rolling Combo with Sonic and Tails.

When you play Sylvania Castle Zone Act 3, you'll eventually meet a dead end, with a monitor floating right before it that shows Sonic and Tails curling up into one huge ball. When you see that monitor, press your combo button on the ground, and the duo will do the Rolling Combo, giving you this achievement. You can't miss it, just like the last one.

All Stages Cleared!

Defeat the final foe and watch the ending.

Just defeat the final boss of the game, and watch the ending. Credits to Zephyrkul for noting that you can skip the credits.

All Chaos Emeralds Found!

Collect all seven Chaos Emeralds.

Chaos Emeralds can only be found when beating special stages. To access them, you need to finish any act with 50 rings (as long as that act doesn't show an Emerald on the act selection screen), and jump into the big ring that will appear after the goal post.

To beat a special stage, you must collect the required amount of rings before the end of each of its three sections. If you miss the ring requirement and you're close to a section's end gate (you'll see a checkerboard area before it), pause the game and press the Retry button to try again at no cost. If you don't Retry, you will have to go back to a regular act and end it with 50 rings again.

Metal Sonic Falls

Defeat Metal Sonic in SKY FORTRESS ZONE, Act 1.

At the end of Sky Fortress Zone Act 1, Metal Sonic will appear in his ship and launch cannonballs at you. If you jump and hit these cannonballs eight times (three on mobile), you'll defeat him and get the achievement.

A Golden Wave

Defeat all bosses as Super Sonic.

Beat all the bosses as Super Sonic. Easier said than done. Make sure you have all seven Chaos Emeralds. To turn into Super Sonic, press the Super Sonic button after collecting 50 rings.

Sylvania Castle Zone Boss
Collect ALL the rings, as there are only 50. Without transforming, fight the boss as you would normally until the boss's tentacles stab its "stem," then transform into Super Sonic. Hit Eggman once he reveals himself. Do not get hit before transforming - you'll drop only 32 rings, less than required for the transformation.

White Park Zone Boss
Collect all the rings you can see. When you are chasing Metal Sonic, transform as soon as you get 50 rings and attack him. Make sure to collect the rings on the tracks and avoid falling off.

Oil Desert Zone Boss
Collect all the rings before beginning the fight. Avoid the scrap mech's attacks and the falling blocks at all costs. Stay clear of spike and bomb blocks. Once you make it to the surface, count the mech's jumps. After the third jump, move Sonic to the left to avoid the mech crushing you, then turn around and do a rolling combo on its leg. Immediately transform and hit Eggman to beat him.

Sky Fortress Zone Boss
Collect all the rings at the start, then transform immediately. Keep stocking on rings and hitting Metal Sonic.

Death Egg mk.II Zone Act 1
Leave this one for last. In case the achievement didn't unlock, do this. Grab rings before the first Eggman and Metal Sonic fight, then grab more before the Metal Sonic race. Super Sonic's speed should allow you to outrace Metal Sonic without using the rolling combo.

Death Egg mk.II Zone Boss
After the first spring, jump so you can grab a shield, but don't jump too far or else you'll get hit by spikes. Explore to find more rings. Eventually when you find the boss, you'll have more than 50 rings, along with the shield. Be sure to stay calm and transform after Eggman "shuffles" the place a third time. Combo roll his shield, then go Super Sonic and attack in time. Good luck!

Ring Collector

Beat Special Stage 1 after collecting every ring.

This is not easy. It's easier to earn it in multiplayer, especially local co-op, but still doable in single player.

Either way, you need to boost - it allows you to collect rings further than normal. Hold the combo or Super Sonic button to boost. If you're playing multiplayer, in the second section after Sonic flies of the edge of the half pipe, put Tails in the middle until the end, where the two of you must be on the sides of the pipe to grab the rings. In the third section, Tails should be on the right while Sonic in the middle, then turn left, and then jump in the middle to collect the ten ring. You can stop boosting at the special rings gate if you can collect them. Coordinate with your buddy at all times. You must get:

*80 rings at the first section
*215 rings at the second section
*314 rings when completing the stage.

Once you have 314 rings, congratulations! The achievement is yours.

Endurance Race

Clear all stages without returning to the world map.

Dedicate an hour or two for this. You must play every act from Sylvania Castle Zone Act 1 to the Death Egg mk.II Boss without seeing the map, just like in the classic games. To do that, press the Super Sonic button when the game prompts you to "Play the next act" after you beat a level. If you get into a special stage through a ring, then this prompt will appear after you clear or fail the special stage.

Proof of Speed

Clear SYLVANIA CASTLE ZONE, Act 1 in one minute or less.

It's doable even without Super Sonic, but transforming will make it easier. When you start, enter a rolling combo, then at the part where you have to homing attack left to the spring, exit the rolling combo and do the homing attack, and keep running. At the second body of water, jump when you see the third line of rings to go the faster route (and get the red ring if you haven't). When you're up in the sky after a half pipe, homing attack the bubble chain and get on higher ground, then jump and enter a copter combo to go above. Get the speed power up there and run to the goal post.

I Love Tails

Play as Tails 50 times.

This is an achievement only done via multiplayer mode, but you can do it on your own and without being online.

In the configuration tool of the game, set the buttons for player two to the numpad section of your keyboard, or a different gamepad, basically anything that doesn't interfere with your normal control scheme. Remember 2P's start button. Open "Multiplayer" then "Local Co-op". Now its a matter of selecting any act (a short special stage is preferred), and choosing to play as Tails with PLAYER 1 IN SCORE MODE. If you avoid the spring in special stage 5, it's possible to fail and only have around 5 seconds per attempt (or to be exact, 4:99 seconds with boosting), saving you a lot of time. Also, remember that after every fail you must see the "saving" screen. This will tell you that the run you just did counted towards the achievement.

Do this 50 times and the achievement is unlocked.

Tag Partner

Upload a multiplayer score or time.

Make sure you're online. Play either local or online co-op in any stage, then go to the leaderboards and pick multiplayer mode for the stage. Your score will be automatically uploaded, earning you this achievement.

All Red Star Rings Found!

Collect all Red Star Rings.

There is one Red Ring in each act except the boss acts. Refer to this guide to find them.

for i love tails achievement, i did not see saving screen anymore after i played the stage for once(it happens with every stage even normal stages), does anyone know whats wrong:(?

For Golden Wave the final boss is indeed easier with the shield but you make it even easier. Transform to super sonic every time after you regain control, quickly dash back to the boss and revert back to normal sonic. You'll lose a few rings while in super form but there are enough rings to keep the ring count above 50.

The final boss the get the golden wave achievement is HARD! Making sure you don't lose your shield before you get the final hit is near impossible with all the shock platforms you have to avoid. Do that boss last, do not listen to this old guide telling you to do the previous one last.
