How to do good in TTT!

This is a guide aimed to help you become good at the Trouble in Terrorist Town mode in Garry's Mod.

The Basics

Trouble in Terrorist Town is a gamemode in Garry's Mod. In this gamemode, everybody is a terrorist. After the round preperation time is over, players will be randomly split into up to 3 groups. The Traitors, The Detectives, and The Innocents. 1 in 4 players will be a terrorist and 1 in 8 players will be a detective, the rest will be innocents. The goal for the Traitors is to kill all of the innocent traitors and detectives. Since they are outnumbered it is required that they use stealth. The goal for the Innocents is to kill all of the traitors. The goal for the detectives are to help the innocents determine who the traitors are buy using there tools to help them find out information about others. Pushing F1 in game will bring up a basic guide on how to play.

Being an Innocent

Reasons to Kill

When your an Innocent you cannot just run around shooting people. This is called RDMing (Random DeathMatching), most servers will punish you for this. Before you shoot someone, you need to have valid evidence that they are a traitor.
Here is some valid evidence you can use against traitors.

• You are the last two alive.
  
• You saw them shoot someone else who wasn't a T (Traitor).
  
• You saw them kill someone else who wasn't a T.
  
• They are in Traitor-only areas.
  
• They have a Traitor-only weapon. (This is kind of iffy because they could have picked it up from a dead traitor but they shouldn't really do that.)
  
• You saw them carrying a dead body around (wait there's more!), AND they hung it by a rope somewhere.

If someone is pointing a Deagle directly aimed down their sights at your head, you can run away, or shoot them. You could get in trouble for RDMing but you can say your excuse was that he pointed a gun at your head because people wont usually do this unless they are a T.
Don't trust anybody and if someone is following you, try to escape them and hide, it is not a valid reason to kill someone.

Using your skills

If you see someone in a room of dead bodies and you search the body to see that they were killed by a gun that the person is holding, you should probably kill him BUT you may have been wrong and will get accused of RDMing depending on the situation.
If someone is sneaking around while others are huddled in a big group they could be the T.
If someone calls a KOS (Kill On Sight) on someone, kill the person immediately and if they aren't a T you won't get in trouble because the other person called the KOS and they'll get in trouble instead.

Common Sense

Do not sit in big groups of other people, keep a little bit of distance and if they ask why your far away and accuse you of being a T, say "I don't want to be Jihaded." and they will probably put some space between themselves too.
Detectives are your best friends, if you find a dead body, search it and click 'Call Detective' if they have DNA traces on them, the detective can use these to track players down on the map.

Being a Detective

Things you should know

As a detective, you will probably be a high-value target for Traitors because you are the one that can track them down and find evidence against them (Blow their cover) the easiest. This means that you shouldn't really wander off by yourself and watch your back.
Pushing 'C' will bring up a menu where you can buy different items that do different things.
It's rare to be a detective, so do your best not to die if you enjoy being one.

Tips

If your called to a body, go to it, and if it's not a Traitors body and still had DNA on it, take out your DNA scanner and click on the body. You will then be able to track the person who killed them via a small "DNA" icon placed at there current position updating every 30 seconds.
If you find C4, quickly open the store menu and buy a defuser, then defuse the bomb. This is the only way to safely defuse the bomb.

Being a Traitor

And now, for the part you've all been waiting for, how to be a Traitor.

Goals

Kill Everyone thats not a traitor.

Tips

Do not act any differently then you do when your aren't a traitor, this could give you away. When you with someone else, even if they are a fellow T, say "I'm with (name) if I die" so that they wont be as likely to expect you to be.
Don't laugh and give yourself away.
Like the Detectives, you also have a store menu. Press 'C' to open it. In here includes several different items that all do different things.
Use stealth.
If you get into trouble, use your mic and try to talk your way out of it.
Be convincing!
Aim for the head.
If someone is following you, lure them into a secluded area, then hide around the corner and when they walk in, either stab them with a knife or just shoot the crap out of them.
Hide your dead bodies! Pull out the magneto stick, right click once on it, then bring it somewhere and throw it down or use left mouse to hang them by a string. You can also buy a flare gun to burn the bodies so the detectives can never find it.
If someone says to KOS you because they saw you kill someone, then you need to shut that person up immediately but you can't really do anything else other then try to be more stealthy because if someone sees you, they will probably shoot you.
An example of hiding a dead body under a bridge where it probably wont be found again. (Or at least searchable!)
