Order of Gnaw's Cravings
These are the categories for the first 8 rounds. Mumsy (shown in the picture) will indicate which of the one is the Gnaw's craving for the round.

Round 1 - Always Snack
Round 2 - Vegetable or Bread
Round 3 - Meat or Fish or Soup
Round 4 - Dessert (and rewards a Sapphire Medallion which you could use to unlock the park)
Round 5 - Vegetable or Snack or Soup
Round 6 - Meat or Fish or Bread
Round 7 - Always Pasta
Round 8 - Cheese or Dessert

You should be quite flexible with your meals starting from round 7 onwards...
Common Starter Dishes
These are the common starter dishes if you want to gather as much coins as possible on your first meal. All of the recipes mentioned below are easy to prepare and has 10 coin rewards. Enough to get you going for the next couple of recipes. Their ingredients are already available all around the map.

For Cookpot
All ingredients are not that far from the base. You can eventually finish the meal in under a minute by using the sign cards and the extra wood on base for fuel.
#12 Stone Soup: 1 stone, 1 berry, 1 foliage

For Oven
Potatoes are available on elder's place. Mushrooms are all around the forest area.
#14 Roasted Veggies: 2 potato, 1 mushroom OR 1 potato, 2 mushroom

For Grill
Roasted Veggies as well.
Or can flex to the recipe below if playing Wes as you're more capable of playing around with expenses.
#11 Meat Skewers: 2 meat, 1 twig
How to win the Gorge?
Now, this method may take you 8-10 recipes to finish the game. So if you're looking for a guide for finishing the mode in under 7 meals for the achievement, there are more guides dedicated for that.

I can assure you that this method will actually win you the game without requiring luck provided that you have a full team and you do your jobs well. I suggest finishing the game mode first before you start experimenting/learning other recipes. Goodluck!

Round 1 - Snack Round
  1. Start gathering ingredients - gather 1 stone at Billy's area, 1 foliage at park's entrance and 1 berry on bushes.
  2. Coordinate with your harvester to provide more wood for upcoming meals, and have your farmer to plant 3 blue seeds (wheat) and 1 oblong seed (carrots).
  3. Buy a cookpot.
  4. Make Stone Soup. (1 stone, 1 foliage, 1 berry)
Round 2 - Vegetable or Bread
IF VEGETABLE: You're lucky.

1. Ask your gatherer to pick up 3 potatoes at Elder's place. (southeast area past the woods)
2. Buy salt rack at Billy if this is the case. Install it as soon as possible.
3. Cook Potato Soup once ingredients are there - 3 potatoes at cookpot.

IF BREAD:

1. Coordinate with your farmer to provide you 3 flours asap.
2. Buy and set up an Oven.
3. Cook Bread 'cause you have no other choice - 3 flours at the oven.

Round 3 - Fish, Meat or Soup
IF MEAT:
If Oven is available
  1. Buy trap from Billy and catch one rabbit.
  2. Cook Meat Pie - 1 meat scrap, 1 flour, 1 vegetable.
If not: Cook Meatballs instead on cookpot - 1 meat scrap, 2 vegetables.

IF FISH:
If Oven is available
  1. Buy ROD from Billy and catch one 1 fish. Leave the rod near the pond.
  2. Cook Fish Pie - 1 fish, 1 flour, 1 vegetable (use carrot since its already planted)
If not: Cook Fish Stew on cookpot - 1 fish + (2 more fish or 2 vegetables)

IF SOUP:
Cook Stone Soup on cookpot - 1 stone, 1 foliage, 1 berry is the cheapest recipe for it.

Immediately buy and install a SALT RACK if you haven't already. You need to have silver plates as soon as possible for your fifth recipe.

Round 4 - Dessert Round

1. Coordinate with your farmer to prepare 1 carrot and 2 flour. Help him/her if needed.
2. Cook Carrot Cake at Oven - 1 carrot, 2 flour
3. Have your harvester watch out for salt on this round because you'll need a silver bowl for next round.

Round 5 - Snack, Vegetable or Soup
Luckily, we have a recipe that's categorized on all 3 so it doesn't matter what the craving is.
  1. Proceed to buy gate key and open the park gate.
  2. Buy 2 packs of spiky seeds and 1 pack of seed pods.
  3. Tell farmer to open 1 spiky seed pack only and plant/fertilize them as they'll be used for next meal.
  4. Ask updates about your salt and plate. Once the harvester starts running to get key, proceed with the preparation. Otherwise, check supplies (esp flour and spices).
  5. Cook Tomato Soup on cookpot - 3 tomatoes and serve it on SILVER BOWL.
By this time, your gatherer should be monitoring the salt in for silverwares and big pot/casserole.

Round 6 - Meat, Fish or Bread
IF MEAT: You have several options between recipes #55,57,58,62,64 on oven and #52,60,61 on grill. But I'll recommend #64 (Meat Wellington) for this one.
  1. Buy one Slaughter Tool from Billy using one Red Mark that you got from last meal.
  2. Slaughter a beefalo for 2 meats.
  3. Cook a Meat Wellington in Oven - 1 meat, 1 spice, 1 flour and 1 mushroom/garlic...
    OR 2 meat, 1 flour, 1 mushroom/garlic/spice
  4. Serve using SILVER PLATE. 1 favor, 1 red mark, 5 coins.

IF FISH: Check coins if you can buy a Large Grill and a fishing rod (if not yet available).
  1. Cook Bagel'Nfish in large grill - 1 flour, 1 fish, 1 spice, 1 milk (buy from Mumsy using one recipe)
  2. Serve using SILVER PLATE. 1 Favor, 7 coins.
IF BREAD: Buy Large Grill
  1. Buy one Slaughter Tool from Billy using one Red Mark that you got from last meal.
  2. Slaughter a beefalo for 2 meats.
  3. Cook Shooter Sandwich on large grill - 1 meat, 1 spice, 1 flour and 1 mushroom/garlic...
    OR 2 meat, 1 flour, 1 mushroom/garlic/spice
  4. Serve using SILVER PLATE. 1 favor, 1 red mark, 1 sapphire medallion, 2 coins.
Round 7 - Pasta
It is expected that all 3 vaults are opened on this round, otherwise go buy a large cookpot at merm on memorial park if it's taking too long. You need to rush this one if your last meal was fish so that your milk in hand will not spoil.

1. Cook Fettucine in Cookpot - 1 flour, 1 garlic, 2 milk.
2. Serve using SILVER PLATE. 1 favor, 1 red mark, 3 coins

Round 8 - Cheese or Dessert
If things above are all followed well, it is expected that you still have 1 RED MARK that you can spend to buy milk from Mumsy.
  1. Cook Cheesecake in Oven - 2 milk, 1 flour, 1 berry
  2. Serve using SILVER PLATE. 1 favor, 1 red mark, 3 coins

--You should have 3 favors by now for the Key. If not...--
Round 9 - Soup or Cheese
If SOUP: Cook Onion Soup in Large Cookpot - 2 onion, 1 milk, 1 flour and serve with silver bowl.
If CHEESE: You can either do the same recipe as last round OR...
Cook Pizza in Oven - 1 meat scrap, 1 milk, 1 flour and 1 tomato if you want to finish the game without repeating recipes.

AND THERE YOU HAVE IT! Congrats on your escape.
Time to play once again and discover all recipes this time.
Easy Cooking Technique
Now this is the technique I use. Shown here is the spreadsheet I made which groups up recipes based on the category of dish and the cooking station required.

You can have this open on one tab (Right click the picture and open in new tab) together with this recipe page[forums.kleientertainment.com] and have these 2 as your reference while cooking.

So how does this method work?
Once you know from Mumsy what the craving is, the spreadsheet can provide help knowing which recipes are your options to do next considering which cooking stations and resources you already have. The numbers in the sheet corresponds to the number of the recipes on klei's page.

For example: you have a cookpot and the craving is fish, then you have recipes #5 and #40 as your options. You can then check on the recipe page which food you'll cook.

ALSO...
Each craving category has 3 rows and this is why I made so:
  • 1st row - 3 minimum ingredients. All ingredients are found outside park.
  • 2nd row - 3 minimum ingredients. Some ingredients are accessible after park is open.
  • 3rd row - Strictly 4 ingredients.
Still thinking if I should split row 3 so that recipes requiring ingredients from park are separate.

Take note!
Always keep this in mind when deciding which recipe to make if you plan to actually finish the game mode.
  • Recipes #24-45 provides RED MARK if snackrificed with silver plate.
  • Recipes #46-65 provides GNAW'S FAVOR if snackrificed with silver plate.
  • Recipes #66-69 provides GNAW'S FAVOR if snackrificed with or without silver plate.

Although using the recipe book in-game is always an option, it's does not actually help discover all recipes since it only shows discovered ones.
Important Notes and Tips
For those who are new to the art of cooking
  • You can/should use the vegetable signs for your first round of fuel. No need to bother your gatherer for your first round of meal.
  • There are 4 levels of fire. I usually raise it to level 4 if on cookpot and oven, and 3 on grill (especially if bread). Steam animation will pop up if your food is ready.
  • Adding salt to your food adds more time on your timer once the meal is snackrificed.
Additional Tips
  • Best Character as a Flexible Chef will probably be Wes due to his Haggler ability, providing him with various store discounts. More budget = more options and flexibility with your recipes. (Especially for the ones aiming for the "all recipe" achievement)
  • Remember to set up a SALT RACK as soon as possible in order to access the safes early on. Take note that there are 3 safes. The one near the grinder is commonly left unnoticed.

  • I've read that there's a bug where steam won't show when cooking but the food burns anyways. This doesn't seem like the case for me. It's either I placed the wrong ingredients or cooked the cooked at the wrong cooking station.

    And lastly...
  • Coordinate with your teammates especially if you're planning to make your own set of dishes different from the cliche ones found on various gorge guides.

Disclaimer
The sense of this guide is to provide help to players who are having a hard time figuring out how to cook on this new game mode. I hope this helps out.
Share it with your struggling friends as well.

I'm not an expert cook myself so please let me know if you have any other information or corrections on this guide.

As I have mentioned above, this is quite an ADVANCED guide. If you're quite new to the game mode, I suggest reading up Raenboe's guide linked below.

Last time I was Chef Boy Logro after reading this guide I became Gordon Ramsey. 10/10 would turn fish sauce to lamb sauce.

Nice guide. I like the idea behind the spreadsheet, it's quicker than having to use the in-game tabs of the recipe book. It actually gave me an idea on how to handle my main problem when cooking - multitasking and thinking about multiple dishes at the same time.

However, the ingredients section is wrong, trader names are messed up, wrong traders are indicated (Mumsy doesn't sell slaughtering tools etc.) and stuff like that.
