Scourge of Armagon on Quakespasm... ON STEAM!

This quick little guide will help you setup Quake Mission Pack 1: Scourge of Armagon with Quakespasm, whilst registering your playtime on Steam.

Notes

This guide was heavily inspired by the How I Play Quake in the Current Year guide. It will show you how to run the Mission Pack on Steam using Quakespasm, all while recording your game time, as well as getting the soundtrack working too!

The Rundown

1. Install Quake, install Quake Mission Pack 1, then download the mission pack soundtrack.[www.quaddicted.com]

2. In your quake/hipnotic folder, create a folder called 'music', then extract the soundtrack files into that.

3. Download Quakespasm[sourceforge.net]

4. Extract all the Quakespasm contents into your Quake folder. (override license.txt)

5. Instead of deleting winquake.exe, go to Quake Mission Pack 1: Scourge of Armagon in your Steam library, and open launch options. You can effectively change the Steam launcher to run Quakespasm by writing in the location of your Quakespasm.exe in quotation marks, followed by %Command%. Afterwards, put in -hipnotic, and optionally -fitz before it, if you want the game demo to play. When all is done, your launch options should look something like this: "E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Quake\quakespasm.exe" %Command% -fitz -hipnotic

If done correctly, you should be running Scourge of Armagon without a hunch! Any other quirks like keybindings can most likely be solved in the in-game menus. Good luck, Ranger!

I typed "-hipnotic" (without the quotes, ofc) and it doesn't work. Neither for Scourge nor "-rogue" for Dissolution. Idk what's going on.
