But yeah, I still like these series a lot, so don't mind my usual grumping.
And yesss, Bennett is love and live!

I like the Charlotte's Universe in general, however, this mesh-up of different and somehow contradictory ideas, in my opinion, is killing some part of its charm. Like, the author was thinking about one thing then shrugged and, like, "Nah, I'll change it half-way".
And that's why we have abrupted Uberia line and the fact that in the first game Felix is Charlotte's plush toy, and during the end of the last episode it's vaguely stated that the toy in her room is actually the gift from Felix to Scarlette.

The idea of the first game is that Charlotte has schizophrenia, Umbrella man is her actual biological father, and all residents of the House are her illusions. Felix here is her plush rabbit toy - you can find him in Charlotte's room. That's why Oracle were calling him rabbit in the bad end.
The second game is... well... hard to describe. It seems etherane half-abandoned the idea of "all this is schizophrenia" and added some real sci-fi elements making that some elements from the first game (pythias, Oracle and aliens) are no longer illusions. And, I think, she kinda mixed the idea of "real dystopian world, real dystopian school and real bulling" with "metaphorical dystopian world, metaphorical dystopian school with metaphorical bulling". Because of that this game looks more deep and bizarre - sometimes it works good, but if you dig deeper into canon, then it's kinda half-baked.

Yeah, I agree. Episodes 1 and 2 are more theme-related, as well as 2.5 and 3. I think the main reason here is that all these games reflect a part of author herself (I think she stated something like that somewhere - as I remember, in authors comments after you finish the last episode and are teleported to the backstage room), and the development of all chapters took a very long time, so the ideas changed as well.

I really enjoy your opinions on the games, it makes me think more deeply about it too. It's like...to me, episodes 1 and 2 are very much connected story and theme wise. I would almost say the same of 2.5 and 3, more so than 1 or 2 compared to 3, you know? Oddly enough, playing that version of Charlotte in Delirium at least made me a little more prepared for Q84's behavior in episode 3.

I did miss the sci-fi elements too; Bennett was one of my favorite characters and I'd be happy to play a prequel or whatever it would be called just about his experiences in Uberia. I would love that! I also find it strange how Felix is referred to as an alien in the first two episodes, but by the third, he is simply known as a clone. How does Huxley fit into all this? Or Aiden. All those characters were so interesting and have so much potential. But yeah, I'll always love the worlds and characters of this series, despite how it all might have ended up.

One particular thing that bugged me in the last episode is the emphasis on Charles, his psychological problems, the sister-tulpa and all that shinanigans of The True Realm, especially the fact that the whole Charlotte's World was created from his fantasies and phobias after his death . It just feels... so out of context for me. Yes, the developer kinda made it canon-friendly, however, for me Charles storyline in general looks like it has been made specifically for the last episode and it somehow ruins the whole sci-fi and dystopian magic of the series' world.
For example, if it's Charles' fantasies and nightmares world then why there're aliens from Uberia in the first place? I haven't seen anything in The True Realm arc which points to the connection between these aliens and Charles.

That's why I really, REALLY like the second episode and have very mixed feelings about the last one.

I'm glad you like it! :steamhappy:
You do make a good point! I know what you mean about the final episode, it subverted certain expectations of mine as well. It's interesting because it makes you wonder if that was the original overarching plan all along or if the course of the story evolved/changed during development of the games; I've been meaning to re-play episodes 1 & 2 again to analyze more as well.

Nice! Thanks for putting the info from The Book of Truth into one place!
I kinda like the last episode of Hello Charlotte and dislike it at the same time. Mostly because Childhood's End ruined more than half of ideas from previous 2 parts like the info from The Book of Truth. When I analyze the first two games of Hello Charlotte series I can't stop thinking that the original idea and origin of Charlotte, The House and its residents were waaaay different from what we've got in Childhood's End.
Yes, Childhood's End is a good game but it messed up the original course of the idea behind all of it which sucks. Especially I'm hugely dissapointed by how the whole Felix and Uberia's aliens plotline was changed and cut off.
