How to fight like a madman.
This guide contains all the party members names and has potential spoilers about story.

Got stuck on a monster and wonder why you do no damage to it, or why certain things hit harder than others?
This is because of it's, lets call it, class affinity. Magical, physical, nuetral enemy affinities are killer to fight against. The magical affinty means you do nearly no damage with magical attacks, and vice versa with physical. Nuetral just means beat the hell out of that guy anyway you see fit. if you notice at the beginning of the game the sandmans with the super SUCC mouths take no damage from physical attacks, taking a whopping 10 dmg when you first encounter them. They basically look at your attacks the same way you look at yourself at night when you realize the game and you have something in common, *cough* SEMISOFT *cough*

Most enemies and bosses in the game will have an affinty. This means you need to adjust your fighting style in order to deal with them. No senseless button mashing, attack spamming for you young man. In order to be most effective, match the weakness of the monster to your attack. Seems easy right.

Some monster's will be very tough to fight early on in the game due to the fact that you do not have their weakness in the party and are forced to fight them in a rather unpleasent way. E.G. certain monsters will be weak against magic damage, but your only form of magic damage available is it's strength so you wont hurt it as much as you would like. Say a back row enemy with Water resistance, and magic resistance. You will be forced to attack it with a ranged physical attack, and depending on your str stat if it is high or not you will not do damage. Now do not make my mistake and rush only one stat on each person. I rushed INT on my archer to help the grimoire damage, but realized that magic resistance enemies dont care about how much magic power you have unless you have overcapped magic damaged and have a legendary weapon. Level your stats wisely because you can not undo what has been done.

Once you find out what the weaknesses are, kill the enemy with it. Adjust your line up to counter their main damage with a weakness. Say an enemy is weak against SLASH that means SLASH does more damage to it and takes less PHYSICAL damage from it. My main strategy is to have the enemies weakness in my front row and guard 24/7 so that my back row can deal all the damage they want without having to worry about physical attacks.

These bad boys are your party members, you will obtain all 6 I believe roughly half way through the game. Finn is the main character and is Slash, Kael is Slash, Eris is Impact, Azzam is Impact, Aria is pierce and Scartia is Pierce. Please note that this is physical attribute and determines the damage they deal and take from PHYSICAL attacks. If your STR stat is low but you have amazing INT and MAG attack you should spam grimoire as much as you can even if the enemy is strong against magic and weak against physical damage. I have noticed that, especially with Aria, spamming "S" grimoire spells against enemies do more damage than normal physical attacks, since Grimioires have a multiplier to them.
Once you determine your best method of attack, you need to keep your teammates alive. Sometimes pure raw damage is the best form of Crowd Control. Sometimes keeping the enemy under status ailments is better since certain enemies can heal, one shot you, or just have very high defence. Next is the Status Ailments
Status Ailments
AAAHHH I HATE STATUS AILMENTS

I noticed that the tutorial guides do not have a status ailment section, feel free to correct me if I am wrong about anything in here.

These are your Stat status ailments.
PLEASE NOTE ALL STATUS AILMENTS ARE APPLIED FOR ROUGHLY 2 TURNS

Buffs, Grmiores, and Debuffs will look as follows. Buff, Grimore element, debuff emblem

Basically all your party members inflict status ailments (SA) with grimores, the grimores that actually do damage have an insanely low rate of inflicting SA, but the ones that only inflict SA have a base rate of 20, 40, 60% respectively per class advancement. This is their chance to hit.
STR is your physical damage
INT is your grimoire adventures of Billy and Mandy damage and Grmiore damage
VIT is an oddball one. Vitality as a level up stat is your BASE HP and PHYS DEF but as a SA it is only DEF that gets affected. The base HP remains the same.
AGI is your chance to dodge, hit rate, and very minor phys stat increase.
LUK is well... only good if you can land perfect hits. DO not level this past 15 unless you are required to for a grmiore. You will eventually do a side quest that levels LUK by 10 points on ALL characters.

For the womboest of combos inflinct an enemy with VIT DOWN, affect yourself with STR UP. This is damage in its purest form. VIT DOWN means the enemies takes more phys damage, STR UP means you do more PHYS damage. If you do this and land an Arcana ability it will most likely half hit the boss you are fighting, at the very least piss it off.

The REAL status ailments are as followed
  • Silence
  • Fear
  • Paralyze
  • CONFUSE AAHHH
  • blind ew
  • DrAiNO - Billy Mays here
  • Reflect- watch out
  • HP Regen
  • Focus- AKA useless
  • POISON POISON POISE UGHN

-Silence means that unit is unable to cast skills. Which means its essentially useless since magic damage is the scariest thing I have ever seen since I have seen Eris get angry. If Eris is affected by this cure her immediately or swap her out immediately, her phys attack damage is as useful as a glass of water on a grease fire. MAY NOT AFFECT SOME BOSSES OR ALL BOSSES

-Fear. The Status Ailment of edginess. Sounds scary but not really. All it does it make it unable to cast basic physical attacks. You may still use Grimoires. However if you have Fear and Silence on a unit it can not act, but it can still use ITEMS to save the day as long as it is an ally. MAY NOT AFFECT SOME BOSSES OR ALL BOSSES

-Paralyze, the second scariest thing in the game, status wise. This bad boy means that unit can not act at all, AT ALL, that units turn is immediately skipped and you can not use that unit if it is an ally. However if you cure the allies status ailments they will get their turn back NEXT ROUND, they will still be skipped on that turn. MAY NOT AFFECT SOME BOSSES OR ALL BOSSES

CONFUSION is by FAR the scariest thing in the game. This status ailment on enemies makes them attack each outher, basic stuff right. However if an ally is affected by this beast of an ailment then they will sometimes ignore your command action and either A.) Basic attack an ally with hardly any damage mitigations, B.) Ignore your command action and basic attack the enemy or C.) Follow your command if you get lucky. You may swap this unit out for an unafflicted ally to avoid the confusion until it wears off, or cure its status ailments. MAY NOT AFFECT SOME BOSSES OR ALL BOSSES

-Blind can be nasty if used right. Useless in many situations. Lowers hit rate and chance to evade attacks. AGI DOWN and BLIND can be a nasty combo meaning you cant hit or evade for a while. Fear is better since they cant basic attack at all. MAY NOT AFFECT SOME BOSSES OR ALL BOSSES

Drain- This ability is weird I am not sure how it works. It applies Drain buff which means you essentially get a "Life Steal" effect on your physical attacks, but the rate at which it is applied is something I do not know if its worth to waste a turn to cast or not. Just use an A Bloodstone (All unit healing potion)

Reflect- This can be DEADLY if the ENEMY uses it. This status applies a buff which allows them to return damage afflicted. They still take all the damage recieved but they also return most or all of it back. I have instakilled my Eris because of this. The enemy will apply Reflect BEFORE your attacks land meaning you wont know if it applies reflect until it is too late. However on ally reflect is still the same but is useless because the damage reflected wont be much. Either your unit wastes a turn to attack to cast it, or the unit deals maybe a bonus 1000 dmg. I am curious to see if reflect is possible on enemy arcana abilities.

-HP Regen. Self explanatory. How much the hp regen is I have no clue item wise. Eris has an HP Regen skill but it sucks early game and is not valuable compared to healing items late game.

-Focus. Increases chance to hit, mainly a counter to blind I assume. Never used it, never had it used against me.

-Poison is top tier next to confusion in terms of potentional. Some end game bosses can be poisoned as well. This is pure raw damage. If you get affected by it, SWAP OUT NOW, or else YOU WILL DIE in 3 turns. If this is percentage based on base HP, or based on a stat I have no clue. All I know is, this sucker HURTS. End game bosses took roughly 12,000 damage per turn in poison damage alone. My units took roughly 900 damage per turn at lvl 80, but then again I only have 4000-8000 hp on my units. MAY NOT AFFECT SOME BOSSES OR ALL BOSSES

Please note that MAY NOT AFFECT SOME BOSSES OR ALL BOSSES means that certain bosses can be hit with that status ailment or may be RESIST to it. I do not know for sure if when RESIST appears it is immune or if it can still be applied.
Arcana Abilities- A.K.A. Tac Nukes
These suckers are what we call, "Fun and Interactive" in the MOBA community, but you normies may call it,"I DID HOW MUCH DAMAGE?"

Early on your Arcana Abilites (AA) aren't too usefull but still do way more damage than anything else you have. Finn's AA is front row attack only. Aria's AA is a Column only. Eris is a team heal, nearly full hp heal, and stat boost of 20, 40 and 60% on all stats for several turns per class advancement. Azzam is a single target smash. and Kaels is a single target stab My Dear Scatia is a single target stab as well, but I can not apply the screenshot because I do not have it.
Sometimes trash mobs have low health and high damage so go ahead and use an Arcana ability from Finn or Aria to ensure party safety. Save the single target ones for bosses. Using them without buffing your team and debuffing the enemy is unwise as you will waste huge damage. Use Eris Arcana to ensure the easiest damage and PERFECT hit chance up on AA. In other words, Stat UP yourself and STAT DOWN the enemy. You just may end up doing 4x damage if you crit an AA.
Each AA's damage is based on STR or INT. I am not sure what the formular for damage is. I believe it is.. (Stat x Power/100)[(Status Ailments)]
Getting pefect is a 100% crit hit. So get that crit on an AA and boss fights will be a thing of the past. Bosses are still very tough but if you get to land a perfect, boosted, AA you can tip the scales in your favor very easily.
Legendary Five
King Sorajund- Strong magic attacks, can't hurt him with normal physical attacks. AA still works. Resist to poison, immune to fear and silence. I believe it casts earth magic attacks in a row and column. Adjust party accordingly. Very hard hitter

Queen Trulioore- Octopus of death and status ailments. Has an ALL team hit, confusion, silence, fear skill, Does not do too much damage, 500 to me. Resist to magic, weak to slash. Can be poisoned, can not be silenced or feared I believe. Basic attacks dont do much damage to you.

Light Flurdiaanum- The White Death. Will one hit anyone with less than 7000 hp with its Single target Light Skill, has a row attack Light skill. I forget if it has status ailments. Has a skill called magma eruption. Does roughly 2000 dmg to me and reduces VIT 60% to you.

King Bird Cage Head Boy- AHH HE'S SO BIG. BIG GUY. This guy is bigger than the big mac. Does % base damage with his one ability to everyone. Damage recieved by this skill will be PURPLE. NO EYED, HEADLESS, BIRD CAGED PURPLE PEOPLE BEATER. Does INSANE damage. His other ability essentially one shots. It does 15000 damage on average, magic attack. I believe it has no SA at all, can be poisoned. Resist Fear.

Ant Queen- Fat bottomed ants make my hp bar go down. NUETRAL boss, with resistance to impact and fire. Beat it anyway you see fit. Has an ability, ROW attack, POISON BITE. this HURTS. 4500 dmg to finn and was red dmg, 3800 to kael and was white dmg. Basic attacks do decent damage. It also has an ability SILENCING BITE. watch out because this boss and the queen of octopusie are by far one of the most annoying ones in the game.
OSTIA IS AMAZING
Arena farm. Come here for the best farm in the game and to obtain insane material farm and exp farm. Team Wipe does NOT result in game over so feel free to try out line ups and tactics in here. End game there are 20 challenges and is the funnest area in the game. You start off with 4 challenges each decently challeneged and the 4th one is one of the hardest current level fights in the game. Easy Material, Danaar, and exp farm. The other 15 challenges will open once you progress and the last 5 are available after clearing legendary five side quest. The last 5 offer Stat UP ++ (3 point stat boost potion, not material) for beating the boss. Easy Stat farm for end game content. You may overcap stats past 99 with potions.

Hello I have a question:
What is the current level cap in the game? As in, when can you NOT gain xp and level up towards end game?
