Void Pack - Part A
If you would like me to remove your mod please contact me and I'll remove it as soon as possible!
Thank you for making Torchlight II a better gaming experience!
Have you confirmed that your Map Overlay setting is set to max?
i.e. all the way to the Right on the setting bar?
I thought I was having the same issue/bug as you for quite a few days until I realised that it was due to this setting being too low, and me being unable to actually see the map changes.
Hopefully this helps :)
This can happen if you toggled the map visibility off in vanilla and switched to the mod, or you can even break the map while having this mod installed:
Press the "Automap" key until there is no map. Press the "Map Visiblity" key. That's it, the map is gone, forever. For some reason, the "Map Visiblity" key sets AUTOMAP_VISIBLE to 0 in this case, but it never sets it to 1.
Personally I wouldn't use this mod, because a centered map plus the "Map Visibility" key is enough for me (that way it's just like in Diablo II), but it is part of Torchlight II Essentials, so I can't really avoid it. I'm actually surprised that I'm the only one complaining about this; the "Map Visibility" key sure is an unknown art?
Sorry for the wall of text! Just wanted to let you know, in detail, that there is a problem with this mod.
This mod introduces a bug; it breaks the "Map Visibility" key, which can break the map completely.
In vanilla TL2 you can switch the map layout (top right, centered, left, right, no map) by pressing the "Automap" key and you can toggle the map visibility by pressing the "Map Visibility" key (which many people don't seem to know exists...).
Technical foreword: The map layout corresponds to the "AUTOMAP" setting in "settings.txt", while map visibility corresponds to the "AUTOMAP_VISIBLE" setting. You can view the current game setting by going in the option menu and hitting "Apply"; this will write the "settings.txt".
When having this mod installed, the "Map Visibility" key doesn't toggle the map visibility, and it's even worse: Whenever AUTOMAP_VISIBLE is set to 0, you have no ingame way whatsoever to re-enable the map again! The only way to re-enable it is either to run the game without the mod, toggling the map visible, or by manually setting "AUTOMAP_VISIBLE :1".
If you ask me, it should have been part of the vanilla game already.
