Chapter 3 100% Walkthrough: All Strawberries, Crystal Heart, B-Side Tape, General Tips

Notes, Tips & Tricks

• Chapter 3 contains a total of 25 strawberries. Strawberries don't count as collected until you land on solid ground. (On some screens, you need to land in a specific area.)
  
• Winged strawberries fly away upward if you dash. Don't dash until you're sure you can catch it! (One of the screens in this level - seen at 11:07 in the video - has a winged strawberry that can't be accessed until you dash and cause it to flee.)
  
• Levels in this game are riddled with secret areas. Look carefully for subtle clues that indicate the presence of a secret. (Some need to be opened up by dashing at them.)
  
• Changing screens recharges your dash ability, allowing you to dash indefinitely if done right. This trick is used near the beginning of the level to reach a strawberry (see 0:31).
  
• Yellowish-green diamonds recharge your stamina and give you an extra dash while still in the air. (These reappear a few seconds after being collected. Use this to your advantage.)
  
• You can pass through spikes from below without being harmed. (However, be careful not to fall back down onto them!)
  
• Some rooms have block switches. Touch all of the blue, circular switches in a single room to move a block that's obstructing your path.
  
• The wriggling filaments sticking out of various surfaces will become deadly black goop as soon as you move away, meaning you can't touch the same part of these surfaces a second time. Leave gaps if you will need to stand on/cling to the surface again.
  
• The second phase of this level (Huge Mess) has three branching paths that you must visit before you're able to grab the key and leave the area. Each one clears out a certain type of clutter (linens, books or boxes). You must talk to Mr. Oshiro each time you wish to enter a new path (they are blocked off by jelly blocks until you have done so). Each of the three paths contain clutter that is cleaned by completing a different path, so some of the screens may look different if you do the paths in a different order than they are done in this video. At the end of each path, dash downward onto the jelly blob to clean the clutter.
  
• The linens path (see 10:36 in the video) contains this level's crystal heart, but it can't be collected until after the linen clutter has been cleared away (12:04 in the video). Collect the crystal heart by dashing at it.
  
• There is an optional fourth path (see 13:13 in video) that contains an easter egg of the original web-based Celeste game. (After finding this, it becomes accessible from the main menu.)
  
• Screens with B-side tapes contain blue and pink platforms that switch on and off in time with the music. Active platforms are 100% solid; inactive ones can be passed through. Listen carefully to the music to time your jumps and dashes.
  
• In the final phase of the level, when Mr. Oshiro is chasing you, the lightning blast he emits indicates the path he's going to take across the screen. It's possible to bounce off of his head as he passes (this is useful for reaching one of the strawberries in this section - see 18:50 in video)
