Part Ranking Graphs - PC Building Sim (V1.8.6)
By Dustbag
The In-game Part Ranking chart is slightly misleading. The actual 3D Mark performance rank of some cards are lower than they appear in the chart. Here are some helpful charts with more accurate numbers.

These numbers are based upon real in-game benchmarks and the tables by TheLordOfWarr, Sorian, Wow! Actual and Microft506, so kudos to them!

More charts to come! Feedback much appreciated!

Part Ranking - Graphics Cards
  • This is the Part Ranking chart for SLI/CrossFire cards alongside single cards.
  • The chart here is rearranged according to actual performance numbers.
  • SLI/CrossFire configurations and costs are marked for ease of use.
The SLI/CFX notation denotes 2 cards of the same type in SLI or CrossFire configuration.
Performance/Cost - Graphics Cards
  • This is the Performance/Cost chart for all GPU configurations.
  • The chart here is rearranged according to actual performance numbers.
  • SLI/CrossFire configurations are marked for ease of use.
  • The higher the value, the better cost-benefit you're getting!

Part Ranking - Processors
  • This is the Part Ranking chart for all CPUs.
  • The chart here is rearranged according to actual performance numbers.
  • This does not take into account RAM configurations. This is only performance values of the CPUs.
  • RAM setup is 2x 2133 MHz.

RAM - Is it worth it?
  • This is the RAM improvement upgrade cost comparison.
  • Graphics card, motherboard*, harddisk, power supply and cooler does not affect the performance.
  • *Threadripper has 4 memory channels, all others have 2 memory channels

It's slightly more complicated to evaluate RAM performance increase, as it varies with RAM Speed, RAM channels and CPU. But I hope this will be helpful to some of you.

RAM used is the cheapest RAM of the select frequency:
  • 2133 MHz = $ 20
  • 2400 MHz = $ 40
  • 2666 MHz = $ 45
  • 2800 MHz = $ 50
  • 3000 MHz = $ 55
  • 3200 MHz = $ 60
  • 3400 MHz = $ 116
  • 3600 MHz = $ 120
  • 3733 MHz = $ 130
  • 3866 MHz = $ 136
  • 4000 MHz = $ 80
  • 4133 MHz = $ 160
  • 4266 MHz = $ 180
  • 4400 MHz = $ 220
  • 4500 MHz = $ 252
  • 4600 MHz = $ 280
  • 4700 MHz = $ 370
  • 4800 MHz = $ 430

How to use this chart:
Select your starting RAM speed and then look for the best upgrade for your money.

You can use this chart to figure out whether its more worth it to upgrade from one stick to a second stick of RAM or upgrade to faster RAM.
Both cases shown in this chart gives the same performance increase. Less cost is better.

Hello Dustbag.i have a question. can you make a guide about the costs ranking?

Hey there, this is totally awesome! Thanks!
Is there any way to get some sort of .doc. or sheet for this so I can make use of a search function? Because at the moment it's very time consuming finding for example the graphic card you are looking for. (Sry for my bad english, I hope you know what I mean)
