This list tries to give most of the important (advanced) basics which every player needs to know if you want to improve

There are tons of guides and tutorials out there without knowing - is it up to date? The NS2 Wiki Guides[ns2.live] are actively being worked on to give you the (advanced) basics that every player needs to know if they want to improve.

Of course it is still not covering every single thing, but it has already a lot of areas covered - and that not just by anyone.
A lot this material was done by the best ns2 players out there - some of them for example won the World Championship 2014


If you want to stand on top of the food chain - you need learn from the best and get even better than them.

Hint: Some of these tutorials are focusing on competitive play in ns2 (6vs6), but they are still extremely helpful for normal pub-play! The main difference is that mistakes will be more forgiven on a pubserver. Even though some of the tutorials "seem old", they've been checked and are still up to date (or have only subtle differences)

NS2 Movement Mechanics

The Movementmechanics are different from most games - since you can maintain speed or gain speed by strafing.

If you do not know how to strafe / counterstrafe or master the backwardsjump then you have quite the disadvantage while fighting experienced players. This is the Secret to how 4k Hiveskill players stay alive and do not slow down.

Added up they're quite long, but as far as I remember they're totally legit. Maybe a few things are wrong because they changed since 2014 (numbers, costs, values, etc). But all in all it is still useable and very useful. It even goes quite in-depths sometimes (from a pub point of view) ! And let's acknowledge they're well-made :3

Then I'd rather add a general info that you can find several streamers on twitch, that are willing to anwser questions. With a note that they should check if their skilltier is at least 6, so they know the information is at least reliable...
