How to beat terraria in 13 achievements SOLO! Step-by-step!

The simple no nonsesence guide to beating terraria in just 13 achievements! Solo!

In this guide I will walk you through how to beat terraria in the minimal necessary achievements in the latest possible order.

In terraria PC edition, the minimal achievements is 13. There are methods to skip the skeletron achievement "Boned" but due to controversy, we will not be adding that to this guide.

Here is the achievments we will be getting in there order:

Pre-Notes_1 - Stay cautious

There are many achievements you can just get by playing the game, some of these include:

• Mining ore's
  
• Collecting wood
  
• Being victim of an trap
  
• Stumbling into an mushroom biome
  
• Stumbling into an spider biome
  
• Wearing full set of armor
  
• Wearing full set of vanity
  
• Equipping grapple & mounts
  
• Going into bee hives

It's important to stay awake and be cautious of what your priorities are! Please make sure you read all the terraria achievements before going into this challenge! Please click THIS-LINK

Pre-Notes_2 - Helpfull Tips

All terraria achievements have triggers that activator them. Some things require you to do certain actions to have the achievements pop up. Many people will have questions about what you can and cant do so I will try to answer them in a list bellow:

Question: Can you use mounts?
Answer: Yes as long as there not in your mount slot.

Question: Can you use grapple's?
Answer: Yes as long as there not in your grapple slot.

Question: Can you mine hell stone?
Answer: No. It will give achievement: Ooo! Shiny!

Question: Can you loot chests?
Answer: Yes, all chests are fine except gold & biome chests.

Question: Can you mine a preexisting anvil?
Answer: No. When picked up it will grant achievement: Heavy Metal

Question: Can you mine living wood trees instead of cutting a tree down?
Answer: No. Having ANY type of wood in inventory will trigger achievement.

Question: Can I make hallowed armor?
Answer: Yes.

Question: Can I pick up hammer from wall of flesh?
Answer: No. Will grant achievement: Hammer Time!

Question: Can I use explosives to mine ore in pre-hardmode?
Answer: No. Picking up ore will grant achievement: Ooo! Shiny!

Question: Can you mine hive?
Answer: Yes, but be careful.

Question: Can you use a sundial to skip blood-moons/eclipses?
Answer: No. If an event happends quickly alt+f4. (May have to restart)

Question: What happens if king slime spawns?
Answer: Let him kill you.

Question: Can you die from Jungle Temple traps?
Answer: No. If you die from any trap, It will grant achievement: Watch Your Step!

For avoiding the achievement Lucky Break I suggest you try to find a Lucky Horseshoe. The easiest way to get one is by using gravity potions. BE EXTREMELY CAREFULL, go to high and you will get Into Orbit. Seed utilization will be very helpful here.

For a good early fishing pole try to find a Fiberglass Fishing Pole while in the jungle.

Lastly, I recommend you make your world crimson as the main weapons we will be using in this guide are crimson related.

No Hobo

The first achievement you will need is No Hobo. This achievement will be the core reason this challenge is possible.

Reasoning: The no hobo achievement is needed for three things, bug net, wrench, rockets.

Your first objective is to get the bug net for bait. Fishing crates will be your life during this challenge.
The best way to go about this is to make around 14 houses for npc's including room for the party girl.

Keep in mind that for the party girl to move in you will need 13 pre-existing NPC's. This is achievable without the need to extend achievements. The list of NPC's you will want is listed bellow:

• Tax Collector

Please note that the Stylist IS Possible to get but you will need to be VERY cautious and dig under the spider crypt. Keep in mind that you are risking the Jeepers Creepers achievement by doing so.

It's Getting Hot in Here

The second achievement you will earn.

Reasoning: To gain access to hell.

This achievement will be unavoidable. Even if you do manage to summon the wall, he will pull you right down. Furthermore, without a bridge, you will just burn to death.

Please keep note that there is a 2nd achievement called Rock Bottom that is earned by getting near the bottom of hell. When exploring the hell bases don't go too deep.

Still Hungry

The third achievement. This will be the last one of pre-hardmode.

Reasoning: To gain access to hardmode.

Now this will be one of the hardest bosses you will fight in this tutorial. The reasoning for this is that you will have to beat him with 2 of 3 armor pieces, 100 hp & no reforges.

It's also good to note that Endurance Potion, Rage Potion, Iron Skin Potions and other buff potions will play a key role here. Make sure you are stocked up.

GATHERRING BAIT:
The best way to get bait is to use the flare & flower boot method. In this method you can get 100's of bait items in a very short time period. If you are unsure how to do this, Terraria Help made a video on it as posted bellow:

Items you will need for this will be:

• Flaregun + Flare (Loot the Flaregun from granite chests! They will not grant: I Am Loot!)
  
• Flowerboots
  
• Bug net

HOW TO MAKE ARMOR WITHOUT AN ANVIL:
Now don't loose your pants! You will have access to an anvil. Anvil's can be found in abandoned underground houses. Simply mark it on your map and be sure to make safe access to it. (DO NOT MINE IT, mining it will give the achievement: Heavy Metal)

HOW TO GET MODIFIERS WITHOUT THE GOBLIN:
As everyone knows, the goblin tinkerer can reforge your weapons, tools, and accessories. However, because he requires an achievement; Goblin Punter you will not have access to him.

However, just by crafting an item you have an 75% chance of getting an random modifier and a 30% chance of a dropped item to have an modifier. By using this, you can get nice modifiers on your items. This will come in crucial in a later step.

RECOMMENDED SETUP:

• Jungle Shirt (6 Defense)
  
• Jungle Pants (6 Defense)
  
• Boomstick + Musket Ball
  
• Good potions
  
• Hermes Boots + Aglet

Make sure to have a solid hell bridge made and to have the demon drop the doll into the lava rather then you doing it (Unless you rather get the Like a Boss achievement sooner then later)

It's Hard!

This achievement comes after killing the wall of flesh.

Reasoning: To make your achievement list that much more #Filler

This achievement is unavoidable. Congrats on killing the wall of flesh!

Like a Boss & Buckets of Bolts

First achievement of hardmode!

Reasoning: World progression.

Now I want to first start off with the fact that you CAN skip Like a Boss without breaking an alter, however it's very cryptic. For the sake of this guide I'm leaving it out.

Now because the mechanics wont spawn randomly without breaking your first alter, you will have to go and make summoning items. This being said, you can either farm skeletons in the caverns or get access to the dungeon. In the sense of this guide I will choose to kill skeletons in the caverns.

Fighting the mechanics are the same as you would before, however, due to the 100hp, can be difficult but not impossible. Your first boss should be destroyer as he's the easiest.

Using an elevated platform, make "Spacers" on the floor to help avoid the lasers. It is also helpful to make campfires for greater health regen.

NEW RECOMMENDED CLASS SETUP:

• Adamantite Breastplate (16 Defence)
  
• Titanium Mask (23 Defence)
  
• Dart Pistol + Ichor Darts
  
• Ranger Emblem
  
• Frozen Turtle Shell
  
• Moon charm
  
• Good modifiers
  
• Good buff potions

MAKING BETTER ARMOR:
Using fishing, you can open crates to reveal hardmode tier bars. I suggest you use Adamantite as it grants more defense. Since you cannot wear a full set anyways, set bonus is non relevant.

Using the pre-placed anvil, craft a Mythril or Orichalcum anvil. Do not be alarmed, this anvil DOES NOT give you Heavy Metal achievement.

HOW TO SKIP "Like a Boss" TILL LATER (Extreme users section):
I decided to add this because the solution is fairly simple.

You will have to use seed utilization to find an world where a demon alter has spawned on sand or in the ocean. The seed 182249106, corruption, small, yields two alters in right ocean. Three on medium.

When it comes to hardmode, simply mine the sand under the alter (3+ blocks under it) and it will simply break granting you access to the natural boss spawning.

Boned

Killing Skeletron

Reasoning: The need for wiring.

At this point in the guide, the rest of the bosses will require wiring & teleporters as we have reached the peak of what 100hp can do.

For skeletron it will be very simple as your gear is way above this point in progression. I recommend making a sky platform like usual and buff if you feel you need to.

The Great Southern Plantkill

Killing plantera.

Reasoning: World progression.

At this point in the guide you should have the mechanic and the steampunker. You will want to purchase:

• wire
  
• wrench (2 colors)
  
• buttons (2)
  
• wire (200~)
  
• Teleporters (2)
  
• Craft a 1second timer.

It's also very crucial you find minimal 4 heart statues as they will make the bosses to come much easier.

SETUP:
There is a very simple setup that will get you a plantera kill first try. The first step you will want to take is finding the plantera bulb.

Just to the left or right of the bulb you will want to build a teleporter corridor. I will give an visual example bellow: (Click to enlarge)

What this design allows you to do is shoot your dart postal towards the middle where plantera will be trying to chase you. When she gets close enough (Appears on your screen) simply teleport to the otherside and repeat. Keep in mind crystal darts bounce around and can be very helpful for this layout.

After wards, mine your heart statues as they will be needed later on.

Lihzahrdian Idol

Achievment from defeating the golem.

Reasoning: World progression.

Now the golem can be very tricky because of how your world generates. But with some civil engineering we can make even the hardest of bosses seem easy. It's recommended you have good modifiers and speed accessories.

If you have managed to save the Like a Boss achievement then this is where you will be getting the achievement. There is currently no method to summon the golem without placing the summoning item in your inventory.

For this fight I have made a simple design that will allow you to rarely get hit. Just like the last build you will want to have the following items:

• wire
  
• wrench (2 colors)
  
• buttons (6)
  
• wire (200~)
  
• Teleporters (12)
  
• 1second timmer.

Be sure to have mined your heart statues as they will come in great use this fight. For the arena here is a visual image:

The objective here is to run left at all times. You will be able to outrun the fireballs, fists, and the lasers. Using the rocket launcher aim left (Or right) and let the grenades do all the work.

NEW RECOMMENDED CLASS SETUP:

• Hallowed Mask (24 Defense)
  
• Dart Pistol + Ichor Darts
  
• Grenade Launcher
  
• Ranger Emblem

• Good buff potions

Be sure to mine the heart statues after the fight for the next battle.

Obsessive Devotion

Achievement for defeating the Ancient Cultist.

Reasoning: World progression.

The cults are a very rng boss. As many know, when the Ancient Cultist divides, Attacking a duplicate results in the summoning of the Wyvern-like Phantasm Dragon. This dragon deals massive damage and can easily throw off your boss battle due to loosing so much hp. However it is still recoverable with the help oh heart statues. Miss twice and.. well good luck!

Since the Ancient Cultist is very slow and sometimes stop to summon, it's very easy to defeat him. Utilizing this, I went ahead and made a simple arena that can give you the greatest chance of defeating him as visualized bellow: (Click to enlarge)

The whole point of this arena is very similar to the plantera one in that you want to drag him the the middle and use the teleporters to give space between y'all. Since the cultist is known for stopping, use the pads for healing purposes.

• Possessed Hatchet
  
• Ranger Emblem

• Good buff potions

Star Destroyer

Achievement gained from destroying all four pillars.

Reasoning: Access to moon lord.

The celestial towers are pretty self explanatory, Just embrace the fact you are going to be dieing allot. I recommend that you kill the stardust pillar first so you can craft the Stardust Dragon. Just keep in mind that if you choose to craft this item you will have to do the event twice for the Celestial Sigil.

Making a house with a bed (grabbed from hell fortress) next to the towers will make this event MUCH faster. As when you die, you need to walk all the way back to just die agian.

After defeating all four towers, moon lord will spawn. Let him kill you. DO NOT waste any of the fragments on crafting unless you wish to do the celestial event over again.

Champion of Terraria

Achievement for defeating moon lord.

Reasoning: Beating the game!

Now this is probably where you stop and think to yourself, there is no way in hell I'm good enough to kill moon lord with 100hp, 2 of 3 armor, no nurse, minimal good reforges, and barely good weapons but you are WRONG! Moonlords is ironically the easiest boss you will have defeated in this whole guide.

If you did not know, the reason we wanted the party girl NPC is for one thing. Rockets. Rockets are able to kill the moonlord in 4-8~ seconds and can be your one way ticket to victory.

Now this requires a whole lot of setup and if done wrongly can empty your tylenol bottle pretty quickly. I want to thank a good you-tuber for creating the base setup we will be modifying; MappyGaming. Here is his original video on basics of what we will be using:

In this design he uses a correnated set of rockets to blow up at the correct time the moon lord spawns in. Using the bases of his original design I have created something that will better fit out needs. Its also important to note that the mana generator he used isn't possible due to our lack of a hammer.

It's important to note that becouse the nebula arcanum requires 30 mana to use, you will have to get at least one accessorie that has the modifier "Arcane". Furthermore, when spamming the nebula arcanum into the top chamber you may have to use greater mana potions. Because we don't have access to the goblin, we cant make the mana flower.

Because of this, we to have to have them on a hotbar next to your arcanum so you can quickly switch between them as shown bellow:


When the gizmo fire's, his heart will still have some hp left. Use the switch to go down a floor then pop the next set of rockets. While doing so be firing downward using the arcanum. This will allow you do deal enough damage to kill the moon lord.

If for some reason he fails to die, make a 3r'd stage of rockets giving you a guarantee victory.
