How To Get This Game Out Of Your Head

[SPOILERS] Chances are, if you have any emotion in your life whatsoever, this game may have placed what seems like a whole in you. Here’s how to fix it.

Good Ending

The first thing you may want to do is get the good ending (it’s a really long process, so if you want you may simply go to the next step, there’s a special save file that gives you it anyway.) To get this ending, you have to first make a save file at the first poem. Then play the entire game up to Sayori’s confession, and your choice to either love her or friendzone her. If you get to Act 2, you’ve gone to far. However, in this playthrough, you want to focus ENTIRELY on Yuri. Support her in every argument, say that you would walk home with her, write poems for her, etc. Also, always share your poem with Sayori last, and with Yuri first. Natsuki and Monika don’t really matter just yet. Once you hit the confession decision, revert back to the first poem. I suggest making a save first so that you can do a little bit more skipping as this process is tedious all hell. Although you might not want to do this if you want all of the story that the vanilla mode gets you. Anyway, this time you do exactly the same but focusing on Natsuki. Finally, after getting back to the confession, go back and focus entirely on Sayori. Write poems for her, share with her first, etc. Unfortunately, the vanilla game actually has no way to actually save Sayori — but don’t worry, we’ll deal with that later. Once you find Sayori…poor Sayori…you need to finish the game. Your decisions don’t really matter that much here on out, but I suggest becoming great friends with Yuri in Act 2. I’ll warn you ahead of time though that she kills herself too. Don’t worry, later we’ll help her too. Great, now Act 2 is over, time for Act 3. Yada yada yada delete Monika and all that ♥♥♥♥. Now you get to Act 4. On a normal playthrough, new Sayori will be taken over by Monika and a bunch of ♥♥♥♥ happens. However, with the path I just got you to take, you now unlock the good ending. Some people apparently find good closure with this, but I guess it’s different for everybody. Sayori will thank you for becoming friends with everybody and the credits will roll like they normally do but with less deletion of characters. Congratgulations, you have “won” the game. Now it’s time for…Act 5?

Happy Ending

Congratgulations, now that you have beaten the game, it’s time to move on. DDLC will actually stop you from modifying the game until you’ve unlocked the good ending so… do that. Or get the easy peasy cheat file. If you have gotten to this point, you may feel that the good ending isn’t as “good” as it is implied, and you are still left with so many questions. “What happened to Natsuki? What if I was able to save Sayori? Is there a way I can save her?” Welp, now you can. I want to make it clear that I did not make this mod, and I do not wish to take any credit for it. Here is a link to the Discord of it, it has all of the links to everything. The link I generated will take you to the place to get the save file. Once you download it, open it with WinRAR or whatever else you use to open .zip files, and copy the folder within and paste it into the game files. This will make sure that you 100% have the correct ending ready and all that. If it asks if you want to reset your save, say no. Don’t be scared if you accidentally click yes, though, as you can just paste again and try again. Now download the .rpa file from the releases thing in the Discord. It will download a simple file named “script.” Make sure that if you were to open it, it would use Notepad, but don’t actually open it (it becomes laggy, that’s all.) Now locate the original scripts.rpa file in the DDLC files and replace it with the new one. Start up the game again. You may have to sit through Act 4 again but that’s only because the mod loads up directly after the credits. Click New Game, and you will enter Act 5. By the way, if the mod worked, Monika should not appear in the title screen. Anyway, Act 5 starts most of itself off just doing Act 1 all over again. Feel free to skip, nothing is really different until the confession. Just do whatever you want regarding poems, although focusing on Sayori might be nice. Anyway, at the confession stage, confess your love for Sayori. Now here is where things start to change. When it gives you the option, scream. Sayori will come back. You will drag her to your room and indirectly tell her that if she were to commit suicide, so would you and CONGRATGULATIONS! The next day, don’t worry too much, she’s okay. The same sequence of events will repeat until you bust down the door and find… no Sayori? Annyyywayyyy time to enjoy that scene. Don’t worry when she is deleted and all that, Act 4 was proof that the characters once deleted are still okay. Just imagine that she’s living her life well forever. It’s only to allow progression to Acts 6-8. Here are just some basic pointers for the future. When Yuri is about to kill herself, choose the option to cut yourself. Talk her out of suicide and all will be okay. Feel free to skip all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ before that, it’s just Act 2 again. For Act 7, I strongly suggest that you ignore that Skip button, as this act tells a long story of Natsuki. It uses none of the previous acts, as it is now a whole new timeline entirely. Act 8 is pretty linear, just go along with it. And congratgulations, you have just saved everybody. You can now continue on with your normal life without feeling the potential mental scars you may have contracted.

Addendum. You also have to play through the game at least once before attempting to achieve the "Good Ending." To "fix" the game there is a flag file that is stored in DDLC "game" folder called "firstrun" that you have to delete. Once "firstrun" is deleted you can do the play throughs for each character to get the "Good Ending."

I did achieve the good ending after all, but it involved me actually quitting, starting a new game an then loading the save file for writing the first poem for the next two character play throughs. You seem to need to collect all of the characters' cut scenes. Deleting Monika's file from the characters folder has to be done after Monika pauses her dialogue after you finish writing her a poem in the void.

That said, easter eggs certainly sound interesting.
