Achievement Guide

A guide explaining how to get every achievement in Minit. Spoilers will be listed below. Please enjoy the game for yourself before jumping right into a guide, as you will have multiple opportunities to get the achievements.

Introduction

I encourage everyone to play the game, explore, and have all the fun you can before referencing this guide. Minit is a wonderful experience that I had a hell of a time advancing in. Learning the ropes was a challenging, yet rewarding, experience. Don't ruin that for yourself.

If you notice any mistakes or errors, comment below and I will fix them. This also applies to if you have any easier ways to getting these achievements.

All images used in this guide are from the steam achievements themselves.

I have not touched this game for a long time. Due to this, I am incapable of answering specific questions in the comments. Eventually, I plan on returning to my Minit guides so I may fix any grammar errors I made.

Easy / For Completing The Game

This section consists of achievements you absolutely have to get to complete the game. For example, you can easily skip the island and still complete the game, so achievements like that are under the Simple / Out Of Your Way section. I simply add these here for the sake of adding all the achievements, but I listed no description under them as simply beating the game at it's bare minimum should get all of these for you.

Simple / Out of Your Way

Due to the simplicity of these achievements and the straightforward descriptions of them, only for some of them will I explain what you have to do.

BEST FRIEND
BRING A GIFT TO THE DOG

• This one can be done without the teleporters activated as a friend of mine can confirm, but to save yourself the grief (or if you find yourself unable to do this) you can simply pick up the bone in the graveyard above the Hotel, go through the Hotel teleporter and take yourself back to your original home. Handing the bone to your dog will unlock this achievement and give you an extra heart.

DOG WASHER
WATER THE DOG

• For this one, you have to use your Watering Can. Simply just water your dog and he'll be all fresh and clean. The only thing you gain from doing this is the achievement and an arguably cute animation from the dog.

LISTENER
LISTEN TO THE OLD PERSON

• Pretty straightforward. Just go up to the old turtle by the lighthouse and wait until he finished his explanation. On a Normal Run, while you still have a decent amount of time, you should still hastle on over to him as quick as possible. On a Second Run you'll need the Fast Shoes to make it to him on time. Unless you're looking for treasure on your Second Run you can just get this achievement during your first fun.

GHOST HUNTER
TALK TO MARY

• Go up two areas from the Hotel and you'll find a creepy exteriored house. Go up or down a few floors until you see a quote from Mary. Stay there for a little while and then leave to greet Mary the ghost outside. Feel free to use the tips from the ghosts scattered around the game now!

TOURIST
VISIT THE ISLAND

• After helping the lost stranger, which is required for completing the game, he'll return to his boat. On a Normal Run, in the area above your original home, there will be a tree that has the wood at the top. Chop it down and you'll get the Boatwood. On your Second Run, this tree will be located next to the house where you get the camera. After getting the wood, return it to the stranger and next time you regenerate the boat will be ready to set sail on. During a Second Run, make sure you have Fast Boots when running over before the ride or you'll die before you reach land.

TRAVELER
USE A TELEVATOR

• Once you reach the island, you'll be required to do some simple puzzles to set up and use the televators. Doing this will get you the achievement.

WORLD TRAVELER
USE ALL TELEVATORS

• The televators are linked to your original home, the Hotel, the island home, and a back area of the Sneaker Hut. After you get off the island and have the televators set up, just manually walk to these places and activate the teleporters by walking onto them. Now you can get around much quicker!

PUNCTUAL
FIND AN ITEM, COIN, OR HEART WITH LESS THAN 1 SECOND LEFT

• You may or may not just happen to get this while playing normally, but if you found yourself not getting this achievement even after everything, like I, you can just start a new game. Grab the Sword, walk towards the Watering Can, and wait until the timer reaches 1. Once it does just grab the can at the last second and you'll get this achievement.

CONNOISSEUR
PLAY SOME REAL MUSIC

• The hater in the bar isn't satisfied with the current music. Try changing the song on the jukebox until he enjoys it.

HI MY NAME IS MARY
COMPLETE THE GAME WITH 100% OF THE ITEMS, COINS, AND HEARTS

• Below you can find a link to my other guide which explains how to find all the things listed above. The HI MY NAME IS MARY achievement is what you will unlock if you 100% the game and then complete it by beating the boss. By doing this you will not only get the achievement, but Mary Mode. If you already completed the game but 100%ed it later on, you can always go back and fight the boss again. (Note that while I do not specifically list the puzzles on my other guide, the explanations for how to solve them are somewhat scattered throughout the guide due to certain coins or items being unlocked by completing the puzzles.)

ANOTHER MINIT
COMPLETE SECOND RUN

• After beating your first run, you will unlock the Second Run option. Just start a New Game + and complete it. Some puzzles will be more difficult, you'll have less time, and a weaker weapon.

PACIFIST, SORT OF
COMPLETE THE GAME WITHOUT KILLING ANY SNAKES

• I didn't get this on my first run (whoops) but if you're going for the MINIMALIST achievement, that run could be a good chance to complete this. If you don't want to worry about working on that achievement, you could try out the Second Run for something kind of new or replay the game to get this. As the description states, just don't kill any snakes throughout that entire run.

MINIMALIST
COMPLETE THE GAME IN 25 RUNS OR LESS

• What they ask of you may be pretty straightforward, but for less experienced players it may be a difficult challenge. Though, from personal experience, it isn't as scary as it sounds. I may add someone else's video later, or my own personal strategy (I took 18 runs- that includes some silly mistakes along with mistake deaths during the boss). The only items and abilities required are your sword, the watering can, the camera, coffee, the flashlight, the lighthouse key, sword throwing, tree cutting, and the flippers. So, for now, consider this achievement description a work in progress. I still recommend trying this challenge for yourself before scrambling for a guide.
  
• Apparently you can also get this achievement through playing Mary's Mode. To unlock Mary's mode, you must 100% the game and then kill the boss. In Mary's mode you aren't limited with time, and the only thing that factors into your runs is how many times you die (since you're still held back by limited health). Technically this could be seen as taking the easy way out, so it's up to you whether or not you want to do this.

This was an AWESOME achievement guide! I see a lot of people complaining about it not going into great detail and not walking you through every step of the way, but they're not realizing that you should only be viewing this guide after you've already been through the game and know at least like 90% of the map layout. This guide allowed me to 100% the achievements in only just a couple of hours after beating the game for the first time.

You should to write guides as if your audience is brand new to the game and knows nothing about it. There aren't any grammar issues that I have seen, but you don't make your explanations detailed enough. Also, I understand that you don't want to give all the answers away and make the player experience it for themselves, but there are people that just don't care about that at all, and this guide would be frustrating to them. People come here for answers, instead it just gives vague and obscure hints. A lot of the explanations are explained as if they know several details like locations and items. You don't even give explanations for some achievements. I know the achievements objectives are really simple, but like I said you need to give an explanation for each achievement assuming they haven't read anything else in your guide and that they know nothing of the game. The guide could be better, of course everything could be though.

Something worth noting, I got the Mary achievement without really 100% completing the game. I just did everything I could in the first run minus the pacifist achievement. I got everything else though, except for 1 heart, doing the second run, and the minimalist achievement. Just thought for anyone reading this would care to know!
