Tips and Tricks for new players of RE6 (updated v2)
By Mr. Revan
This guide will help users on two awesome things on RE6 (+ some other small tips):

1) The Field Medic Skill[/b] - Gives the solo player the ability to get infinite health tablets from his AI partner :D

2) The Quick-Shot Move[/b] - Teaches players how to use it on the game, which helps them save ammo and items throughtout the campaign. This certain move wasn't directly taught to the players on RE6, but knowing such move can be really handy in-game.

***Plus some small extra tips found below*** :D

"The Never Die Trick" (works only on solo)

---> You guys probably already know about skill settings right? The one where you buy and equip skills before you begin a new chapter in the campaign. There's this one specific skill that can really be handy especially when your playing Solo (meaning, with just an AI partner). That's the "Field Medic" skill.

---> Here's a description for the skill: "Allows your partner to give you a few health tablets when you're rescued.
(Single player only)"
. Using this skill on solo, everytime you get incapacitated on the game, your partner AI will inject you with 1x health tab to bring you up again, rather than just punching your chest to revive you. Take note that just recieving a punch in the chest as a revive, will still render you with a warning/critical life sign, meaning with another hit from an enemy your dead for real. On the other hand, recieving a tablet as a revive gives you 1 life block, which results you to become incapacitated if you got hit again.

---> Got it? You can't die with that skill in the game. I tried it on the console and it really worked like a charm. (Equip Field Medic Skill -> Get incapacitated -> AI Partner revives you with health tablet -> Get incapacitated again -> AI Partner revives you with health tablet again -> rinse and repeat) BTW, in this game your AI partner doesn't run out of ammo, nor health tablets to revive you with. Just remember to always call out for him when you get incapacitated so he can get to you before you get hit again while lying down.

---> Awesome isn't it? Infinite health tablets from your AI partner, kinda like God-Mode in some way :D (You can try it out if you like, It worked like a charm on the console, so I'm sure its the same on the PC Version)

"The Left-Click + Right-Click combo, or more commonly known as, QUICK-SHOTS"

---> As far as my experience on Resident Evil 6, the game never directly teaches you this cool move unless your actually paying attention on the hints and tips that comes out during loading screens.

---> What is the Quick-Shot? A quick-shot is made by pressing both Left-Click + Right-Click at the same time on the game. Your character will do a stylish position and do a single bullet fire on the nearest enemy (like an auto-aim). Doing so, the nearest enemy that got hit will most of the time be stunned, or kinda like staggered, giving you the opportunity to do an action-melee-move (the one that pops out as an action button on your screen when you can do a cool melee attack on an enemy).

---> It's a pretty handy ability on the game. Got surrounded by zombies? Low on ammo? Do a quick-shot (a 100% accurate single-bullet hit to any nearest enemy, stunning/staggering him), run towards him while he's stunned, do a melee, voila! Save ammo, do more damage. Just do a finishing move of stomping him on the head when he's still alive. Do note that the action-melee-move also helps when your surrounded. Kinda knocks out the other nearest zombies on the target that you just punched/kicked.

---> Just remember that each melee move you do drains your stamina. That's the white long bar below your health bar. Each quick-shot done also drains one-bar, so use it wisely. I just like using this all the time 'cause it helps me conserve ammo.

---> Also, if your stamina gets drained (using your last stamina bar), it goes red and you won't be able to use any quick-shot move 'nor do any proper melee attacks at the moment. You have to wait it to fill up the whole stamina bar to regain your strenght, which might take a while. So don't go out punching everyone now :P

How to "pause" the game (in Single-Player or Offline-Mode)
---> As you may have notice, clicking on "ESC" will bring up their handy-dandy cellphones giving you options to change skills and game setttings. Sadly, enemies still try to kill you even if your just adjusting some options on the cellphone menu.

---> To literally "pause" the game, go to Options>>Keyboard Bindings. As you scroll down the key-bindings, you will find the PAUSE which is binded to the Pause key, which I doubt most keyboards have. Just change the binding to any key you desire, and voila! You can now pause the game! :D

---> Hopefully this helps out those who are complaining who can't pause the game :)

***Note this only works for "Offline-Mode". Thanks to 'Azure' and 'Dracix' for confirming this.
"Some small extra tips"
---> When eating Health Tablets on Co-Op, try being at the side of your partner, or just be near him. Eating a tablet beside your partner also gives him 1 health bar in the process. So 1 tablet for the benefit of two right? :D

---> When playing with an AI or in offline mode, remember these 2 important facts:

  • Your partner AI never dies. No matter how hard the AI hits him, he won't go incapacitated 'nor get his life depleted. They only die on certain rare scenarios when there's like a chase scene and he gets stuck along the way, he dies like that :P
  • He doesn't run out of ammo. So you can let him handle most of the fights if need be. This isn't like RE5 anymore where you also have to worry on which ammo or weapon your AI friend is using.

---> There are 2 things to note when mixing herbs to form tablets:
  • Green Herb + Green Herb = 3 Health Tablets
  • Green Herb + 3 "Mixed" Green Herbs (the one above) = 6 Health Tablets
  • Green Herb + Red Herb = 6 Health Tablets

---> When you run out of stamina (regenerating red bar, which kinda takes long), eating a health tablet will restore it quickly with around 2 stamina bars from what I remember. This method helps when you want to use your melee moves in a desperate situation.
Just a little hidden "6" I found on one of the zombie's head :P

Also a note here for No Hope players, as more difficulty increases, the AI is more dumber UNLESS there's an AGENT HUNT that they suddenly becomes smart because Hunters will go straight for you, heighten the AI to protect you. HOWEVER, without AH then you MUST use V + W ( Arrow UP ) : MOVE IN to let them know they must attack. DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT spam this multiple time, press 1 time is enough unless you move a bit distance then you have to command again to let them know they must attack !

@Rukyaa You have to be within a certain distance of a target for it to aim automatically. It has a couple other uses not mentioned here. Following it up with a slide into the stunned target will setup for a hard stun that allow the player to perform a devastating melee attack. You can also quick shot with a fast weapon like the pistol and then switch to a power weapon or a precision weapon such as a magnum or sniper. As soon as the animation finishes, you'll pull out the weapon and be centered on the stunned target. At that point you can simply shoot with the power weapon, or get an easy head shot since the stun animation is generally the same and always leaves your aim centered in the same place on the target.

There's actually more to the Field Medic skill. On PC, there are extra keybinds to change your current skill set which can happen at any time. Even if you go down. Switch to the field medic skill when you go down, call for your bot to get you back up, and switch back. Simple

For myself , the quick shot is S**t . When i press L-trigger (AMI) + R-trigger (Fire) on my XB360 gamepad , the toon just shoot a bullet in front of him/her , not targetting any monster . So using quick shot is just a loss of ammo to me

You can see this trick(both variants) on this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rU8JLpmIgrk&feature=player_detailpage#t=270s from 4:30(I tied this time to link) to 6:00

2)If you have more than 1 weapon - You press "Scroll Down" and after "Scroll Up"(as fast as you can)(better if you have 2 weapons at all, because you can make double press a "fast weapon change button"(I use "E" button, because I forgot which button the game uses in standard controls) or double "Scroll Down" besides " "Scroll Down" and after "Scroll Up" ") and snipe again without slow reload of snipe bullet animation=)
(Need some skill at first time(at "2)" need more skill than "1)", but "2)" variant works faster(If you have a great skill), because you can use it immediately after the shot of sniper rifle compared to "1)" variant, where you need to wait until you see the "reload of snipe bullet" animation)

I wrote it in two posts because I crossed the limit of symbols))

I have 1 more trick, which help you with slow sniper rifles. When you look at sniper scope then shoot, and after that you see slow reload of bullet of sniper rifle. I have 2 methodes to make it faster:
1)If you don't have another weapon(in "Siege" mode(until you find 1 more weapon(like RPG)), for example) - You snipe("Right Mouse Click") and shoot("Left Mouse Click"), and after(don't release "Aim" button, and wait for "reload snipe bullet" animation) press "Change shoulder" button("Capslock" as standard), and snipe and shoot again, and again press "Change shoulder" button("Capslock"), and snipe and shoot, again and again...
