Introduction:
Welcome to my guide about increase FPS in PAYDAY: The Heist.
On this guide we gonna see how to have a better game performance in exchange of worst looking.

You will need PAYDAY Bundle Modder Tool and BLT to apply some mods from this guide

Click here to download Bundle Modder[bitbucket.org]
Click Here to download PAYDAY: The Heist BLT [modworkshop.net]

Note: The mods and configs from this guide were tested on 2 PCs:
one with a Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core CPU E5500 @2.80GHz and a AMD Radeon HD 5450. had a result of a stable 30/101 FPS depending the heist.

and other with a Intel® Celeron® G1610 @2.60GHz with a integrated GPU. had a result of 30/117 FPS.
Basics: Resolution & Graphic Quality
We gonna start with the most basic step:
change resolution and set minimum graphics quality:

with this options we gain at least 15-30 fps.
[Configs] Modded Renderer_Settings files
The custom renderer_settings files are a advanced way to make the game worst looking but with better performance.

Important
with both configs the game will have "640 480" resolution, DO NOT change it in game. do it in the renderer_settings file.
Recommended resolutions: 640 480, 800 600, 1024 600 (Windowed)

Preview
Note: with this configs the shadows will move depending on your camera rotation and your position.

Config 1 (low): this doesn't affect much in graphic quality with a good optimization.
Result: 60 - 96 fps (from 37 - 44)

Config 2 (Potato): This affects a lot the graphic quality and gives a really good optimization.
Result: 60 - 114 fps (from 37 - 44)

How To Install
press windows key + r and write: %localappdata%/payday/
Remember make a security copy of your renderer_settings.xml file!

Move the modded Renderer_Settings.xml file into PAYDAY folder from your local appdata and replace the file.

[CONFIG/BLT MOD]: Fix Mouse Lag
Non-Modded Method
To fix the mouse lag all we have to do is go to our game folder
("steam/steamapps/common/payday the heist/"): and open the file Context.xml with WordPad or any Text Editor.
and set "fps" to 59 or 30 and "multithreaded" to false.

Modded Method
if the non-modded method was not enough then to fix the mouse lag we need limit the game's fps.
to do this we gonna download my mod to do it.
It's limited to 30 fps by default. But you can change it to 60/120/300 if you want. (if your pc is a potato with a mirror and 2 cables I highly recommend use 30)

Click Here To Download The FPS Limiter[bitbucket.org]

How To Install:
To run this mod we need PAYDAY: The Heist BLT. Check "Introduction" to download it.
Step 1: move the folder "FPS_Limiter" into BLT's "mods" folder

How To Config:
to change the fps limit is very easy, all you have to do is open setup.lua with any text editor and set "30" to another value:
[MOD/Bundle] No Shadows Mod
And this is the final section from this guide, where we gonna see how disable the shadows from the game to fix the shadow bug from the custom renderer_settings files and gain 5-15 fps
To install this mod we need PAYDAY Bundle Modder. Check "Introduction" to download it.

Click Here To Download: No Shadows Mod[bitbucket.org]

Probably never do this myself, but that might have a real big impact on input lag. reaction time. Reminds me of the old days. People dropping resolutions and what not to get an edge. Looks like you put some effort into it.
