ArmA: How to join an Puplic Server

This short and quick tutorial will guide you how to join puplic or even private Servers after gamespy got shut down.

As you know, somewhere in the middle of 2014, gamespy stopped supporting games like arma1-2 and more games and it got
shut down. (google it if you wanna read more about gamespy)
So after that it was not anymore possible to see any servers on the Arma multiplayer list (or on other games where gamespy was supporting).

So now you questioning, are they any server left? how can I join them?

The answering is Yes. There are some Arma 1 Server's left.

Okay, but how can I join them? It's pretty simple. You only need the game for it. (and the latest version 1.18)
follow the steps, and you will be good.

1. Start Arma (Doesn't matter if Gold Edition, Combat Operation or Armed Assault. But it need to be on 1.18 - Steam Versions will always be automaticly on 1.18)

2. Go to the "Multiplayer" selection. (It may take some time to load, so don't wonder. The reason for this is GS.)

3. You should now see an empty Server-list. (thats normal because of GS is offline.)
Just click on the "remote"-Button and enter the Ip Adress and the Port of the Server you searching of.

Server Example: IP: 188.122.68.72 Port: 2302 (This Server actually does exists and is joinable.)

4. After you entered the Server adress you searching for and press OK, the server should show up and you can join.

Thats it.
But notice this: If you should get kicked of an server, it could be because the Server is running with mods, or doesn't allowed modified files.
Just check out if you have the right mods, or removed modified files.
(If you have problems on connecting, just ask or conntect.)

Privat Server tut:
You can even start a private sassion with friends via Hamachi or other local hosters. The guide to connect is the Same.
On hamachi: Just use the hamachi IP adress to connect.
