Install an older Doomseeker Client
As of updating this guide (08/11/2022), Doomseeker 1.2 and onward has not been compatible with launching through steam. Doomseeker 1.1 is the last build of the executable that is compatible with steam overlay, and can be obtained here.[web.archive.org]

Once you download that, navigate to your library on steam, find doom, and browse local files. Create a new folder called doomseeker, and extract the contents of "doomseeker-1.1_windows.zip" into this folder. Your root directory should now look like this:
Download and Install Zandronum
Go to https://zandronum.com/download, and download the most recent zandronum installer. You can find both previous and updated builds here[zandronum.com]

Once you download that, run the installer, and install your zandronum folder into the root directory.

When you are finished installing, your root directory should look like this:

How to launch Doomseeker through Steam
Navigate to your Steam Library, right click your game, and select properties.

Paste the following command into your launch options:

"<path to doomseeker exe>" %command%

Here is an example on how your code should look:

"D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Ultimate Doom\doomseeker\doomseeker.exe" %command%

Configuring and Using Doomseeker as a launcher
When you launch Doomseeker for the first time, it should direct you to configure your wad path. your doom.wad is in the base folder by default, but you may set your own wad path. I put my DOOM.WAD file into my zandronum folder so my setup looks like this:

example:

After you set your WAD paths, select Auto Updates, and select disabled. The updated version of Doomseeker is not compatible with being launched through steam, even with this method

You should be finished now. If you want to play a multiplayer game, just click a server and doomseeker will download server wads automatically. To play a single player game, select File>Create Game, and you may configure your experience from here.
You're done! Now go play some Doom!

Added updated instructions. It's a temporary fix, But I hope this reaches Doomseeker devs. They preserved the online multiplayer for doom better than bethesda did

I've also noticed that newer builds of doomseeker have not been compatible with launching through steam, so I'm currently looking into it now

Hi, thank you for commenting about your issue, i have updated the guide to include proper syntax. The launch option command should have quotations around it before %command%

It says: could not find doomseeker directory. Its on base/doomseeker folder but the program wont work. If I put dosbox inside the doonseeker folder, it opens (but not on steam).
