The classes for each faction and when they should be used
There are four basic categories for each class:
-ASSAULT TROOPS
usually equipped with SMGs or Carbines. Classes in this category include
AXIS:
Sturmtruppe (STG-44)
Unteroffizier (MP40)
ALLIES (Britain)
Sergeant Major (Sten)
ALLIES (US)
Staff Sergeant (M1 Carbine)
Sergeant (Greasegun)
Master Sergeant (Thompson)
Assault troops are best used for capturing objectives and fighting in close quarters. These classes are generally terrible in longer range encounters.
-RIFLE TROOPS
equipped with rifles with one-hit kill capability at long range and a bayonet or stock hit.
AXIS:
Grenadier (K98)
Stosstruppe (K43)
ALLIES (Britain):
-Rifleman (Enfield)
ALLIES (US):
Rifleman (M1 Garand)
SUPPORT TROOPS
support troops are not useful for objective capturing. They are most useful for supplying cover fire to other troops OR for holding an already captured objective.
AXIS:
MG-42 Schutze (MG-42)
MG-34 Schutze (MG-34)
FG-42 Zeifelnohr (Scoped FG-42)
FG-42 Zweibein (FG-42)
Scharfschutze (Scoped K98)
ALLIES (Britain):
Marksman (Scoped Enfield)
ALLIES (US)
Machine Gunner (.30 cal MG)
Sniper (Springfield)
Support Infantry (BAR)
BASICALLY:
Assault troops emphasize speed and close quarters battle. I might sometimes classify the FG-42 and BAR as assault troops in certain situations. Rifle Troops are versatile but generally better at longer ranges. Their rate of fire is abismal. Support troops are good for camping (I got banned 3 days for spawncamping as MG-42) and for holding objectives as well as giving cover fire to assault and riflemen.
