How to use Texmod with Steam version of Prototype!

In case somebody still didn't figure it out, and/or you having error at launch when you try to use Texmod as usual in this game i'm gonna explain how to install it and use it properly with Prototype!

Installation Of Texmod & Run Of game

1. Copy .tpf file you want to use into your Prototype directory
   
2. Rename prototypef.exe to !prototypef.exe
   
3. Also copy-paste prototypeenginef.dll and rename copy of it to !prototypeenginef.dll
   
4. Copy Texmod.exe into Prototype directory, and rename it to prototypef.exe
   
5. Run Prototype through Steam.
   
6. Click on Target Application and select the !prototypef.exe
   
7. Click on the Folder Icon in the middle of the TexMod Screen and select Browse
   
8. Select the .tpf file that you want to use
   
9. And then click on Run

Now everything should work, good luck and have fun ツ

i successfully make it worked just need make sure change both file name on .exe and .dll. Now i cause play this gane with fix mod+texmod and reshade

I'm guessing this doesn't work with the fix mod? Seeing a guide on how it worked someone said it just breaks since the fix mod changes files that the texmod is also trying to change so the game doesn't work.

TexMod honestly is 1 of the worst piece of modding software ever created. It had the potential to be sumthing special but in its current state its hella broken and very restrictive.

I recommend avoiding it and just extract the textures you want and make the game load loose files instead.

Do I need to keep the original prototypeenginef.dll file alongside the renamed copy in the directory or do I delete it and keep only the renamed one?
