Duke Nukem Collectible Guide (Ego and Phone Calls)

This Guide will explain how to get the two different types of collectibles that persist throughout the game, Ego Boosts and Phone Calls.

Intro

Hello! This guide is a text/picture based guide to walk you through the collectibles as you play. I will name the sections the same as the chapter name and put - # / # behind each, where the first number is the number of EGO boosts, and the second is phone calls.

Duke Lives 3/1

There are three total Ego boosts and one phone call in this first chapter. The first two are found often throughout the game, so if you miss either, no big deal. First two are in the bathroom.


First EGO is at the Mirror. Interact and check yourself out


Second EGO is at the very start, pee in the toilet


Next to the toilet is the first PHONE (in ♥♥♥ above)

Third EGO boost is the pool table. You have to knock all balls in without scratching (hitting the white ball into the hole)

Two EGO boosts in this chapter.

First EGO boost is to the left of the people watching TV in the hallway, in the Employee lounge. go to the microwave, open it, put in some popcorn (found next to it), close the door, begin cooking, then open the door and eat it. ALTERNATIVELY, you can cook the rat under the cupboard if you are into that.





Second EGO boost is unavoidable. Sign the autograph book the kid presents you

The Duke Cave 6/0

There are Six EGO boosts in this level, every single one being in the same room


First EGO boost is by picking up a dumbbell and curling it (use it while holding)


Second EGO boost is by punching the punching bag


Third EGO boost is by punching the speed bag


Fourth EGO boost is by collecting and putting all of the weights on the bench press, then doing a rep. In the ♥♥♥ below, you can see three weights piled next to the bar, and the one in the back right corner




Fifth EGO boost is by making a basket


Sixth EGO boost is by beating the high score in pinball. Easiest way to do this is by trapping the ball on the upper left flipper and knocking down the things to the left of it.

Mothership Battle 0/0

The Lady Killer 1/0

The only EGO boost here is by winning the slots. Since it is free, mash a whole bunch at once.

Vegas in Ruins 1/0

Only EGO boost in this level is by beating the boss. Unmissable

The Duke Dome 1/1

One of each on this level, both in the trailer you will enter via a ladder and have to break a glass ceiling to get in.


EGO boost is using the copier to copy a ♥♥♥ of your butt


PHONE is on the wall next to the level

The Hive 1/0

One EGO boost here to slap one of the wall boobs. There are a ton of them that start appearing in part 2 a bit after you go on an adventure with a glowy pillbug

Queen B*tch 1/0

One unmissable EGO boost by defeating the boss


If you couldn't find any wall boobs in the Hive, there are a pair in the beginning of this level, left of the stairs.

Duke Nukem's Titty City 6/4

Welcome to the EGO

We have 6 EGO boosts and 4 PHONES to find.

First PHONE is immediately to the right of you on the desk when you start


After entering the main showroom, hug right and go through the curtains and into the restrooms

First EGO boost is in the stall, by using the glory hole.


Head back into the hall and go left twice so that you are headed towards a door with an EXIT sign. Follow the path upstairs and next to the CCTV control panel is the second PHONE


Head back to the main showroom however way you want, and tip the main dances for your second EGO boost. you will have to wait and watch until she comes right on up to you, and request a "special dance"


Next let's head behind the bar, into the back office, using the unlock code "4768", and in there you will find both the third PHONE and third EGO boost. To get the boost, use the dvd with the TV.


Next we will be headed to the GAME ROOM to snag the last three ego boosts


The fourth EGO boost will be to play Poker until you win a hand. If you missed the Casino slots, you can do that here too.


The fifth EGO boost will be to beat the 850+ score of Alien Abortion in the back corner. Simply play whack a mole and try not to miss more than a few times.


The last EGO boost will be to play Air Hockey and win. You only need to win by having 7 before the other player, unless you are going for the achievement for a 7-0 win. Then god help you. And don't try that while playing with a controller. Unless you enjoy losing.


If you missed either Basketball or Pinball in the Duke Cave, you can attempt that again here, othewise our last PHONE is on the way to the private dance (plot). It is on the desk of the "receiptionist"

Crash Course 1/0

The only EGO boost here is to throw a frisbee. There are three of them on the ground right after you go through the crevice that has you break a bunch of green pods.

The Duke Burger 2/1

We will start the level off by turning around and walking all the way to the back of the store. Back here we will find a PHONE by an employee and Duke figures.


Our first EGO boost is in the employee entrance next to the phone. Melee that door open, head to the back, and use a Cigar.


Head back the way that you were supposed to go, into the bathroom, and while still normal sized, open the first stall and use the mag on the ground.

The Mighty Foot 2/2

The first of the two EGO boosts is at the first stop. After you clear the waves of baddies, head to the station, but then look to where the station faces, and you will see an observation deck with Binoculars.



The last three are in the security station. The first PHONE and the second EGO are together on one desk, and the second PHONE is on another desk. For the EGO, simply use the keyboard

Ghost Town 1/0

After running out of gas and having to go through a ghost town to get some more, find the church, and there is an EGO boost, in a magazine under some pews. The church is a bit outside of the town on the right

Highway Battle 0/0

Dam Top 2/0

First EGO boost here is by defeating the Battlelord on the dam. UNMISSABLE



Secnod EGO boost is the paper air plane in the back of the school bus

The Shrunk Machine 1/1

Both EGO boost and PHONE are in the same office area after receiving the freeze gun. The EGO from the calendar on the wall (just flip through it) and the PHONE is on the desk next to it


There is also a paper airplane on this desk if you missed the school bus one last chapter

The Forkstop 1/0

After you reach the room that you throw the level to restore power, behind you on a cabinet is a magazine for your EGO boost

Generator Room 1/1

The only EGO boost here is to kill the boss


The PHONE is at the beginning of the level, before you leave through the doors after the elevator, turn around and it is next to the drinking fountain

Underground 0/0

Bunch of duplicate EGO boosts if you missed any. First room has a mag #2 and wall boobs


Airplane and Computer in the same room as the vent you have to crawl through to progress

The Clarifier 0/3

No new EGO boosts here, but you should finish finding every phone here!

First PHONE is on the desk when you enter a room that you have to destroy boxes to pass through


After climbing the mobile scaffolding and jumping into the next room through the roof, the second PHONE will be in front of you on the desk


The last PHONE is on the way to Dylan. You will be climbing a maze of stairs, and it will be in front of the top of a pair right before the rocket launcher

Blowin' the Dam 1/0

This last EGO boost is UNMISSABLE, and is earned after you kill the electric eel boss that you fight underwater.

There is also a paper plane inside the Ghost Town church it's on the opposite of the magazine. Since it's very small and in colours of the floor it's easy to miss

It's in Damn! It's Late, literally right beneath the popcorn. Other sources are saying that apparently the popcorn and rat are an either/or, and that checks out with my playthrough. You just open up the cupboard under the microwave, pick up the rat, and squish it, and you get your ego boost.
