Introduction
This guide lists the full 54 cards in the standard Card Crawl gameplay deck.

I compiled this list after finding myself 'card-counting', weighing up the odds of the next 'round' of three cards being for or against me.
So feel free to use this as a mental checklist of sorts, to estimate the chance that the next deal will be in your favour: it might persuade you to use that life-saving Potion, before a couple of Souleaters ruin your win streak!

[Other than the Monster Cards, I have made up names for the other card designs.]
Ability Cards
In each deck, there are always FIVE Ability Cards.

These are either randomly selected from your unlocked collection (as in Normal Mode), or chosen by you before starting the game (as in Constructed Mode).

In either case, it is hard to guess which of the five Ability Cards will be drawn, so their appearance could sway the game in your favour, or clog up the redraw as a useless or mistimed function.
Monsters
These make up the bulk of the deck, and all NINETEEN Monster Cards are there to eat your HP and destroy your win-streak.

  • Souleater - Power 10
There are THREE of these terrors in the Deck. Yeah, I know...

Luckily, there are only TWO of each of the other Monter Cards.
  • Troll - Power 9

  • Spider - Power 8

  • Goblin - Power 7

  • Incubus - Power 6

  • Slime - Power 5

  • Firelamb - Power 4

  • Crow - Power 3

  • Plague - Power 2
Swords
There are only SIX of these damage-dealing Sword Cards in the deck of 54, so don't place all your hope on the appearance of a weapon when you really need one...

There are only ONE of each of these:
  • Longsword - Power 7

  • Sword - Power 6

  • Shortsword - Power 5

  • Rusty Sword - Power 4

  • Throwing Knives - Power 3

  • Dagger - Power 2
Shields
Just as the Swords, there are only SIX Shield Cards to bounce monsters off. This means that there are only twelve cards (not counting Abilities) that can be played against the nineteen monsters: that's why sometimes your games can go downhill quickly!

There are only ONE of each of these:
  • Scale Shield - Power 7

  • Round Buckler - Power 6

  • Leather Shield - Power 5

  • Wooden Shield - Power 4

  • Wooden Shield - Power 3

  • Dustbin Lid - Power 2
Potions
There are NINE Potion cards, and their arrival in the game can pull you from the brink of death... if you have a free hand!

Only ONE of each of these to look out for:
  • Vial - Power 10

  • Vial - Power 9

  • Pot - Power 8

  • Pot - Power 7

  • Bottle - Power 6

  • Bottle - Power 5

  • Bottle - Power 4

  • Powder - Power 3

  • Powder - Power 2
Coins
These NINE Coin Cards are the 'points' of the game. Collect all you can to climb the leaderboards and chase those high scores.

Again, only ONE of each to collect:
  • Chest - Power 10

  • Chest - Power 9

  • Chest - Power 8

  • Pouch - Power 7

  • Pouch - Power 6

  • Pouch - Power 5

  • Pouch - Power 4

  • Coins - Power 3

  • Coins - Power 2
Summary
A standard Card Crawl game deck contains:

  • 19 Monster Cards - 35.2%
  • 5 Ability Cards - 9.3%
  • 6 Sword Cards - 11.1%
  • 6 Shield Cards - 11.1%
  • 9 Potion Cards - 16.7%
  • 9 Coin Cards - 16.7%

Where did you get the playing card icons? I'd like to get them and print them out for a board game

A little tip you might want to add: every 10th card drawn is always an ability card. So on your third hand you will always draw an ability card (44 left), 20th card will be another (34 left), 30th, etc. I haven't experimented much with it so I'm not sure what happens to the count if you use Worship (redraw 4 monster cards) when you're about to draw an ability card within the next 3.

Hey! Thanks for a great game.
Oh, and I know you've probably heard it enough, but +1 vote for Card Thief (and Enyo), please.
