Refrainer Guide
First of all, take your hand away from the gravity controls. Then, identify the edges of the vortex and try to get a close as possible without letting it affect you. Rewinding helps with this if you're having trouble. When you're as close as you think you can get, watch the vortex opening and closing and try to get a feel for the timing. It's open for about five seconds but closes for only one.

Walk into the vortex just before it closes. It should throw you into the air as it's closing, giving you enough momentum to escape its area of effect before it opens again. It's a slim window of opportunity, so don't worry if you don't get it the first few times. Rewinding helps make minute adjustments to the procedure.

Once you're past the vortex once, grab the key and go through it again. The second time was always easier for me, but it should be the same method. Just don't forget to rewind and not reset the level, because otherwise you'll have to do the first pass again. Walk to the door, press whatever you press to use doors and you're done.

I made it in the first run after reading this guide.
I was accidentally sucked into the vortex in its 4th second from the left, then thrown out to the right. On the way back I counted to 4 and successfully went through it again.
Played it another time, well I still have to count to 5 to get the required momentum. The point is to let the vortex provide momentum for you, which shocked me since I was wondering how to resist its sucking-in ability and to get out of the vortex.

I'm getting frustrated because, instead of having no rotation going on, this stage always begins rotating (without me touching the keys at all). All videos seem to suggest this isn't normal. Is my game glitched or something? My keyboard works just fine. Without having the stage remain constantly straight, I'm always falling to my death instead. Could anyone help with this?

You could just add that the precipice is level II-II

as the poster below me said: it has to swing you upwards and then the vortex releases you immediately after. Rewinding makes this pretty easy to do. Do it again on the way back and you are good :)

I count until about 5 secs then walk into it. It has to swing you upwards then release.

Thanks. It's not really necessary, but it was an easy, short guide for my first go at writing one. Plus, it'll help anyone who does get stuck thinking they can just push through.

While a bit tricky to actually pull off, the restricion of gravity manupulation really narrowed the possible solutions down. After realizing you cant simply move through, timing using the vortex pull is the only way. Due to this I don't really feel this guide was nessecary, but nevertheless it explains the puzzle nicely. Good job!
