THE FALL OF LAZARUS /REBUILD_ F.A.Q. & TIPS

Hi!

I'm Johnny Prat, creative director of No Wand Studios, indie video game development studio from Spain creators of The Fall of Lazarus. First of all, thank you all for playing! We've been working in this project for nearly two years and we wanted to give you a few tips if you fing our game a little bit tricky sometimes. We've made a science fiction mystery game that relies A LOT in the player. We don't want to treat you like you are dumb and we think that if you've purchased our game you are willing to play it as it is. But if you are stuck at some point or you are missing something maybe this guide will help you.

Thanks again and bon voyage!

Cheers!

2/ FAQ & Tips
THE FALL OF LAZARUS 101

It is mandatory to play the prologue?

No it isn't. But it helps understanding the intrincate and fragmented narrative we've set up. It gave some insights and little clues that you may find helpful in order to unveiling the truth beneath everything. But is up to you!

The prologue doesn't have checkpoints? WTF!?

Yeah, we know. That can be a little bit frustrating. Sorry, mates! The prologue was conceived as a vertical slice of the final game. We were planning on making a technical demo for marketing purposes but we didn't want to give away any detail of the main plot so we worked in a side story in the same universe of the game and we made it the prologue of the full game. The story was developed at the same time of the main game's one and its not something randome we came up with in a rush. But at that time we didn't have the savegame system ready so we had to leave it as it is now. The full game kept progressing and growing and we realized that we'd had to remake a lot of things if we wanted to implement it in the demo, so we didn't. We thought that its a 30 min tops experience people would play in one go, so we took that risk.

Is this a horror game? You said its a sci-fi mystery game, but I don't know...

Well, its a dark story, yeah. And maybe there are a few times you can be spooked. But it is not a horror game. We wanted to add a little bit of psychological terror to the general mood, but nothing really scary. But maybe there are a few people that get easily spooked that may find The Fall of Lazarus too tense. In the end that's up to you!

Okay, I'm ready. *Press Start* *Nothing happens* What? Hey, I think your game is not working! There is a cube spinning and nothing happens!

Well... have you tried moving around? If everything's fine, you should be able to do that. Yep, the game DID start.

I don't want to be rude, but... there are some spelling mistakes... and I've found some gramatical errors, too...

Yeah, that can happen. Maybe. We worked with a professional translation team but a game development is a full-time job, and even if they've finished their work there are some times when we need to add some extra text on the fly to the game and maybe we messed up. We are from Spain and English is not our mother tongue. We'd love to fix that tho! So if you see a mistake in any text please contact us via Steam Hub! We'll fix it right away.

I'm loving the game so far but I'm stuck in those f*cking tunnels, man... what should I do?

Yeah, Venus is a hostile place. You have to pay attention to the environment, it will help you deciding what path is the right one! Oh, and remember you can use your flashlight in this level! The Venusian War soldiers were well prepared... that's what they thought anyway...

I'm hating the Stellar Chart!

Did you check out the tablet with the control scheme? You have to move around the cells and put them in place but remember you can rotate the cells too! And be careful with the colors, the outside lines may be blurred out a little bit depending on your graphic configuration. There are only RED, PURPLE AND GREEN LINES. Oh, and a few ORANGE ones, but those are hard to miss.

Are you bringing The Fall of Lazarus to VR sets? It would be dope!

Yeah, it would be dope indeed! But right now there are no plans to do so. We don't have the resources for doing it and its a really small niche market right now. :(

What about consoles?

We'd love to! And we are working on it, but we can't confirm it yet. We don't know if we will be able to do that right now and we don't want to make empty promises. But we'll try. That's for sure.

Okay, talking about the game again... what about that timer? My computer is gonna explode? There is a SWAT team coming to my home? I left the microwave on?

There are no cops coming for you. We think. But if you are curious you can kill some time and see what happens by yourself. Maybe you get another piece of the puzzle!

The game crashed! There is a bug! Something is not working! I can't play the game because reasons!

Sorry for that! Please report the bug to us through the Steam Hub and we will check it out. And thanks for doing it!

Well, I'm done with the questions. I've loved your game, it's awesome! Congrats, devs!

Thank you! You are so kind and we are glad you liked it. But we have to ask you one last favor... if you really loved our game, would you mind leaving a little review in the game store page? It will only take you a few minutes but it will help us A LOT. And we will love you with all our heart. <3
