This could have been handled a lot more maturely than it was. But that's the desensitized internet and people on it... So sad.
"A Steam member has let it known that this game is now on GOG, so is no longer considered abandonware.
Please do not pirate when you can buy. "
Think of literally every film, tv program, audiobook, magazine etc that has ever been made. Notice, for example, how there isn't a 15th revision of Games Master from 1993 because the sales numbers have changed?
But because you have spent so much time on your comments, you know what I'll do? I'll add a comment in the info box that the game is now available on GOG.
Whatever you do, please don't call the police. I'm already on a strike 2 for not telling the DVLA that I no longer keep my car in the garage overnight.
So what is this then? https://www.gog.com/game/shivers Abandonware you pay for!? Who is being stupid now. You're the one who said it's not available on GoG. Sending out and promoting piracy when the I.P. is not abandoned is a dangerous path to tread on. If you had any sense you would promote this (great) game and say that it's available on GoG. I can't understand your stupidity and denial.....no point in going on about it, clearly. "The door is open...NO it's NOT" sums this up
quote; "If you want to play abandonware Shivers, this PC game is not available on GOG or Steam. Shivers is complete abandonware. You’ll need to track down a physical copy like we did. You can find it on abandonware websites, even then I doubt you'll get it running easily without an old PC. In closing, the Mrs enjoyed Shivers for the nostalgia. We enjoyed playing a PC game together and it was fun to play a game I’d ever even heard of let alone played. If you’re new to PC adventure games there’s two dozen games I’d recommend before Shivers. Still, good for a spookout."
Otherwise you are breaking the law.
At time of publishing, it wasn't available.
Actually, Shivers isn't abandonware. It's legally for sale on GOG https://www.gog.com/game/shivers
