Rev. 2: In this update a book case is available in the Bards College, containing all 16 volumes of the Heimskringla. You can find this book case in the hall opposite Viarmo's bedroom. If you have also subscribed to "The Poetic Edda", it's the case to the right.

The Heimskringla or The Chronicle of the Kings of Norway was written by poet and historian Snorri Sturlson (abt. 1179-1241), translated by Samuel Laing, and published in London in 1844. The Heimskringla was originally written in Old Norse.

The Heimskringla consists of 16 volumes:

01. The Ynglinga Saga
02. Halfdan the Black Saga
03. Harald Harfager's Saga
04. Hakon the Good's Saga
05. Saga of King Harald Grafeld and of Earl Hakon Son of Sigurd
06. King Olaf Trygvason's Saga
07. Saga of Olaf Haraldson
08. Saga of Magnus the Good
09. Saga of Harald Hardrade
10. Saga of Olaf Kyrre
11. Magnus Barefoot's Saga
12. Saga of Sigurd the Crusader and His Brothers Eystein and Olaf
13. Saga of Magnus the Blind and of Harald Gille
14. Saga of Sigurd, Inge, And Eystein, the Sons of Harald
15. Saga of Hakon Herdebreid (Hakon the Broad-Shouldered)
16. Magnus Erlingson's Saga

All volumes are available for sale by Farengar Secret-Fire, the wizard of Jarl Balgruuf the Greater at a minimum of 100 gold per volume.

The texts can be found online at http://www.sacred-texts.com, including commentary.

@ehlange: there are various sites with the original books in Old Norse. I have come across those several times, but as I can't read that language, I just skipped those. Just google with search text "heimskringla icelandic" or "old norse" and you will sure find them.

ok. I too know about the fact the variations of literaturic language; but if the original book where written in old norse, couldnt there be possible texts on the internet in the original language?
p.s: thanks anyway, and keep up the good work!:)

@ehlange: I'm sorry, but that's not possible. Old Norse uses various accents with letters, and those are not available in the fonts for books in Skyrim. Old Norse also uses various additional letters that are not available, such as the 'thorn'. I really regret this because it would have been very nice to include Old Norse alongside the English translation.

is it possible to inklude a mod-version using old norse? just wondering...

Oh god, stop with the Tamrielization! TES has its own story, Nordic mythology is something apart (it won't hurt if you imagine they're fictions for Tamriel, you know, like LOTR for Skyrim). Anyway, thank you very much for this idea! (Gonna steal all these books for my home, hehe)

Again, no Tamrielizations!

I wish you could Tamrielize this book. Real world stuff in the game is kind of fake.
