Getting Started
There are currently 41 weapon mods to unlock for Gunheart's weapons via the loot containers. Each weapon can have up to 4 slots allowing for multiple mods to be stacked for that weapon. Weapon mods also have rarities which increases the effectiveness of the mod while reducing any downsides if applicable.

Getting Mods

Mods are unlocked via loot containers which can be acquired by completing missions and other challenges. In the Bent Horizon (starting lobby) head over the the Payola-Saurus (giant pink station) to see if you have any loot to crack open. Use the bats or multi-tool to bust them open and cross your fingers for a weapon mod to drop.

Equipping Mods

Head over to Gunstr (giant orange station) in the Bent Horizon or in the pause menu to equip weapon mods. Hover over the desired weapon and click on the gear icon to select the details panel for that weapon. On your left will be all unlocked mods that are compatible with the weapon, and on the right will be the mod slots that you can equip.

Additional mods slots can be purchased with cash up to 4 total. Mods can only be equipped to a weapon one time (although the same mod can be applied to different weapons simultaneously), and you the effects of mods will stack. This allows you to stack bonuses from some mods to counter-act the downsides from others, or to unlock new functionality entirely.

Testing Mods

Best place to test your mod configuration is in the Firing Range. You can teleport to the Firing Range while in the Bent Horizon using the Gunstr interface (either use the one in-world or the pause menu version). Mods are applied real-time to your weapons so it's quick to load them up, blast a few targets to feel them out and then try another combination. You can also reconfigure mods in mission using the Gunstr interface in the quick menu, so feel free to try new combinations if your current setup isn't the best answer to whatever mission you're tackling.

Auto Loader
compatibility: all except death disk and bow
Enables auto-firing and auto-reloading for the weapon while increasing ammo slightly and reducing damage.

Berserker
compatibility: all weapons
Adds a chance on hit to cause an enemy to temporarily attack any nearby target. The chance to cause this effect scales with the weapon rate of fire.

Bloodlust
compatibility: all weapons
Increases damage with each kill, stacking up to 15+ times based on mod rarity as long as there are continued kills.

Bonus Cash
compatibility: all weapons
Gimme the cash!

Brainy Bullets
compatibility: hand gun, machine gun, shotgun, and chaingun
Increases accuracy and activates auto-aim while reducing rate of fire and clip size.

Bubble Shield
compatibility: all weapons
Slows down incoming projectiles while shields are active while also reducing player's max health slightly.

Burst Fire
compatibility: all except chaingun, death disc, bow, crossbow, rocket launcher, minecaster
Enables burst fire mode for the weapon cause multiple shots per trigger pull, but reducing damage slightly per bullet.

Carbonated
compatibility: all except bow and death disc
Increases rate of fire with a strong penalty to auto-aim.

Critical Hitter
compatibility: all weapons
Increases the chance to cause a critical hit for the weapon, scaled by rate of fire so that slower weapons will have a higher chance per shot of triggering critical damage.

Flypaper
compatibility: all weapons
Damage caused by this weapon has will cause the target to be slowed. For the minecaster this also causes any targets that enter the mine radius to be slowed prior to detonation.

Full Auto
compatibility: hand gun, shotgun, rocket launcher, and crossbow
Enables auto-fire, boosts rate of fire, and reduces damage slightly.

Glass Cannon
compatibility: all weapons
Huge boost to the weapon damage while also reducing the player's max health and shield dramatically. The health and shield penalties will stack if equipped to multiple weapons!

Guided
compatibility: rocket launcher, crossbow, and minecaster
Allows projectiles to be guided mid-flight by holding down the trigger and adjusting aim. Try stacking with the triple shot mod on the rocket launcher for mayhem!

Gyro Jets
compatibility: crossbow, rocket launcher, bow, and minecaster
Reduces projectile speed while increasing the damage considerably and also adding more hit impact.

Hammer Head
compatibility: all weapons
Adds a knockback effect on hits with this weapon, with the impact scaled by rate of fire so that slower weapons will knockback further.

Head Hunter
compatibility: all except minecaster and rocket launcher
Significantly increases the damage boost when landing headshots with this weapon, at least on targets with heads.

Hollow Point
compatibility: all weapons
Increases damage against unarmored targets (flyguys, wingless hoppers, buzzkill) but reduces damage against armored targets (razorbacks, hopper commandos).

Holo Scope
compatibility: all except death disc, minecaster, sniper, bow, and chaingun
Adds a holographic targeting scope to the weapon which increases accuracy and also reduces clip size slightly.

Hot Lead
compatibility: chaingun only
Increases the max spin rate of the chaingun while reducing the time to reach max spin speed.

Intravenous Bombs
compatibility: all weapons
Reduces rate of fire and clip size for the weapon, but causes targets killed with this weapon to detonate on death which in turn damages others nearby (including you!).

In Yo Face
compatibility: all weapons
Moderate boost to damage at short range with a moderate reduction in longer range damage. A great mod for naturally short range weapons like the shotgun and death disc.

Iron Eyes
compatibility: all except bow and death disc
Large damage and accuracy boost with a dramatic reduction in clip size plus a drop in overall rate of fire.

Long Clip
compatibility: all except bow, chaingun, and death disc
Small boost to weapon clip size. Not very exciting, but better than nothing! Also great if you loathe reloading!

Longshot
compatibility: all weapons
Significantly increases damage at long range but reduces rate of fire as a trade-off. Great for any who prefers sniping from a distance!

Mean
compatibility: all weapons
Straight up slight damage boost with no downside. Good starter/filler mod.

Mutilator
compatibility: all weapons
Moderate damage boost with a moderate accuracy penalty. Also encourages targets killed by this weapon to gib.

Overclocked
compatibility: all weapons
Slight boost to damage with a slight penalty to accuracy. (hint: this is a freebie damage boost when used with the death disc)

Piercing Rounds
compatibility: all weapons
Modifies all damage from the weapon to ignore armor reduction. This is primarily effective against the later Hopper Commando units that are heavily armored.

Rapid Reloader
compatibility: all except bow and death disc
Moderate boost to the reload speed for the weapon.

Regen Ammo
compatibility: all except minecaster and death disc
Passively regenerates the ammo in clip, reducing need to reload. For combo weapons it slowly regenerates the shared ammo pool.

Rhino Rounds
compatibility: all except death disc
Moderate boost to damage with a moderate reduction in clip size.

Shielded
compatibility: all
Boosts overall max shields but reduces this weapons damage, great for building a tank loadout.

Smart Scope
compatibility: all except death disc and minecaster
Increases auto-aim and enables a reticle for the weapon while slightly reducing damage.

Speedy
compatibility: bow, rocket launcher, crossbow, and minecaster
Boosts the projectile speed for the weapon.

Spray and Pray
compatibility: all except bow, chaingun, and death disc
Huge boost to rate of fire but reduces accuracy, damage, and recoil.

Stun Arrows
compatibility: bow only
Causes a stun effect on impact for arrows, temporarily incapicitating targets.

Tagger
compatibility: all weapons
Any targets hit will be marked which increases the damage they take and also outlines the targets visibly through walls. Support mod for helping the focus fire in harder missions.

Triple Shot
compatibility: bow, rocket launcher, crossbow, and minecaster
Causes two additional projectiles to fire with every shot, reducing damage for individual projectiles and the weapon's rate of fire.

Weapon Shield
compatibility: chaingun, sniper rifle, rocket launcher, and bow
Adds an automatically deployed shield to the combo weapons, reducing the overall damage taken while the weapon is active.

Vampiric
compatibility: all weapons
Regens health/shields when causing damage to targets, but also reduces your overall max health/shields. Amount is scaled by damage applied to the target.
Parting Thoughts
Endless combinations

With this fairly open-ended mod system it's quite possible you'll find combinations that don't have the expected effect. We've done our best to catch these bugs, but if you do happen to find something either let us know here in the forums or on the Gunheart discord[discord.gg].
