Achievement Guide to Constructor (2017) the know how to achieve them, some extra details on how to make in-game money, and solution to most of the complaint from tenant.

Before looking into the Achievements
All achievement cannot be done by playing Tutorial or Mission.

Achievements can be unlock by playing any game mode, including level designer.

All of my screenshot are taken in American, so anyone who use English there is good chance the text will be different.

For voiceover, it is fun to change it to a foreign language but no worries if it would void the achievements, change it as you please.

The achievements will pop up in two ways : the normal steam achievement at the lower right corner, and the in-game one (player's color varies) shown below.
Once aquired you will never see this again in the same match.
Tenants Achievements
NO MORE COMPLAINING
Solve your first tenant complaint and be rewarded
- Your very likely first achievement. There are many ways a tenant will complaint for more detail look into the extra section.

Beware that all type tenant will say there complaints in a different way and not all of them are very straight forward.


LANDLORD FROM HELL
10 or more simultaneous complaining tenants
- There are many ways to get 10+ tenant complaints at once I will show you two ways.

Method 1 : Late game, install 10 of your properties with Dog Kennel than built the fence with Country Hedgerow.

Method 2 : Early game, built 10 level 1 properties with no yard (zero space for 3x3 items) set all of them to breed tenant/Workers.


BROWN ENVELOPE
Create your first Gangster Bribe
- You must have a level 3 tenant and set it to make Gangster Bribe. You don't need to built Mob HQ to get the achievement.


133MHZ
Install a top of the range computer in a property owned by the Major
- Simply deliver a Home Computer to a Major.


CAN'T GET ALONG
Evicting your 5th tenant in one game
- This can be done at mid to late game where you already build up your empire.

You need to select a property press the eviction icon to kick a tenant however this will vary as the tenant will either leave quietely, smash the place and leave, or squat. They must either leave quietely or smash the place and leave to take effect. Do this 5 times.


CHILD BOOM
Have a single tenant produce 7 children
- This is easily done with a level 1 house with Slobs as tenant.

Fully upgraded Bedroom, 2 trees on their property, an upgraded fence (Privet Hedge). Make sure they are breeding Worker or Tenant. For extra precautions fully upgraded Lounge, Kitchen, and Bathroom. Finally you have to wait till they breed their 7th child.


EVERYONE NEEDS GOOD NEIGHBOURS
Have 3 or more tenants with positive moods on one estate
- You will need 3 houses or more of any level. There happiness/stress level need to be +30% each. I am unsure if it is the average needs to be +30% as I had +32%, +30%, and +29% when I got the achievement.

To gain happiness are the following : solving the tenants complaint, big yard, trees on the yard (except for Punks and Nerds), no long walk (Subways Station), fence upgraded (varied by tenants preference) and not damage, upgraded rooms (best upgrade living rooms), low rent (only for those making rents), all household gadgets (Double Glazing, Storm Shutters, etc..).

- This can only be done with level 3 and up tenant.

Yards and Work Crew Achievement
CHANGING ROOMS
Upgrade all rooms in one property
- This can be done on any level properties however the higher the level of the properties is the higher the cost of upgrading is. There are 4 types of rooms : Bedroom, Bathroom, Lounge, and Kitchen. Upgrade 3 time each and this achievement should soon pop up.


NEW TOWN SYMMETRY
Build 5 estates with 100% land usage
- You can have as many estate as you want but you only need 5 of them fully used.

The easiest solution would start a new game, built your Lumber Yard from there buy the cheapest estate, built a property and fill it up completely. Do that 5 times on each estate and if you are running low on money press the money at the top left corner than press "A" or at bottom left corner the up arrow to loan money.


HEAVY INDUSTRY
Upgrade a Resource
- This can be done by upgrading one of the 4 resource industry to tier 2. Each of them require a lot money and can upgraded once you built Cement Yard along with 10 cement and 10 lumber in stock. HEAVY INDUSTRY pop first before CAPTAIN OF INDUSTRY achievement.


CAPTAIN OF INDUSTRY
Upgrade all Resources in one game
- Get all 4 Yard upgraded in other word built your way up to level 3 tenant with all level 3 properties built. The cost :
Lumber Yard $5000, Cement Yard $7500, Brick Yard $10 000, Steel Yard $15 000.


COOKING WITH GAS
Fully stock all types of resources
- This will take a huge amount of time till you get Steel Yard running.

Basically built your way up to level 3 tenant with all level 3 properties built. Built the Park with 6 trees and a pond from the council mission. With that all done you should be able to access the Steel Yard.

All 4 of your resource must reach at 25, 50 if you upgraded it.


TRUMPED
Build 100 properties
- The easiest method is to built the lowest possible properties (houses) and sell it. This method can make you money at the cost of resource and man power. Do not built it on your opponents territories as it double the cost and you would lose money in the process.


INFESTED COLON
Cause infestation of 3 properties on Upper Colon estate
- This achievement can be done on Greenfield, Small Town, Riverside, and Concrete Jungle map in which it has an estate called Upper Colon.

The easiest method to get INFESTED COLON is by building 3 of your lowest possible property and let it rot with no tenant nor any bathroom upgrade.


HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Maximise the efficiency of a foreman's work force
- You must have a Foreman combine with 5 Workers.

Built lots of building with the same work crew and eventually HIGHLY RECOMMENDED will pop.
Rivals and Undesirables Achievements
In this section you will need at least one opponent to achieved most of these achievements.


CHANGE IN COUNCIL
Capture 3 rival properties
- Simple but not easy, you need to take over 3 of your rival properties (houses). To do that you need at least 1 Foreman (more is better) to capture one but beware once attempting to capture, the enemies Workers will respond and attack him.

To counter Worker attack are :
1. Eliminate the enemy Workers with Workers (by the numbers and using HQ to slowly heal them)
2. Neutralize with the Hippy (require Commune) with ghettoblaster (second option from the left).
3. Make several attempt on various rival's properties to draw them to one corner to the other.
4. Eliminate with Gangster (too expensive).


BREAK A LEG
Cause a foreman to retire . . . permanently
- Basically you need to kill a rival Foreman twices since he has 2 life (a 2 with a heart symbol).

Personally I sent about 10 Workers to wack him. You can use Gangster but it will cost you $10 000 to built a Mob HQ, have a level 3 tenant producing Gangster Bribe, and your Gangster will start with the lowest weapon... a knife.


BUILT LIKE A THUG
Have a worker knock out 5 enemy workers without dying
- Not easy to do that as you have no means to know which Worker got a kill count. To kill an enemy Worker choose a Worker you want to get the kill count and to make things a little easier bind him with a group key (ctrl+F1).

From there use a Murder of Workers to attack an enemy Worker, the goal is not to kill the enemy Worker but to weaken to half of his red health bar. To know how much health the enemy Worker have is shown on the top right screen during your assault, the second health bar.

Once enough weaken, sent your Worker you favored to finish him. Repeat this 5 times and you will get BUILT LIKE A THUG achievement.


GOOD DOG
Have a guard dog protect a property
- You will need a Gadget Factory and a Brick Yard to access Dog Kennel. It will cost $1000 and need a spacing of 3x3. Deploy at any building you own and wait till an enemy Undesireable or a Foreman enter yard/lawn.


PARTY LIKE IT'S 1997
Start an undesired house party
- A Tenement Block is required to be built.

Choose the second option to the left and aim at an opponent property.


DOWN WITH THIS SORT OF THING
Picket 3 rival resources simultaneously
- You will need 3 Commune built, 3 enemy resource (Lumber Yard, Cement Yard, Brick Yard, and/or Steel Yard) and cannot be done on a property.

Select your Commune, choose the first option on the left and aim at an enemy resource. Do this with other Hippies without any of them been caught by the Policeman.


CONTROLLED DEMOLITION
Destroy an Undesirable Building
- This require Gangsters to directly attack an Undesirable building.

Destroying Commune, Pawn Shop, Mr. Fixit, Tenement Block, Biker Bar, Haunted House or Arcade should do the trick.


JAILBIRD
Get your first inmate
- Get your basic up : level 2 tenant producing Police Bribe, Police Station built, and Policeman patroling the streets.

You need to produce 5 Police Bribe (500 units) to unlock the Prison, built it and get your Policeman catch an enemy Undesirable.


MAXIMUM SECURITY
Get 5 police officers patrolling
- You will need 5 estate with at least a building (enemy building do count), a level 2 tenant producing Police Bribe, and a Police Station. Rival Policeman patrolling an estate can prevent you from patrolling with your own Policeman.

To deploy a Policeman, on the right with the map select an estate than press "S". Do this 5 times and you get MAXIMUM SECURITY.


GODFATHER INFLUENCE
Produce 3 Gangsters
- You will need 3 Gangsters into play.

Build a Mob HQ (first one is free), breed 12 Workers send them at your HQ, and convert them into Gangsters.


PACKING HEAT
Produce a fully weaponized Gangster
- You will need a Mob HQ built, minimun 16 Mob Bribe from your level 3 tenant, $25 000 or more.

One Gangster must kill 16 enemy from the opposing construction team. You can use multiple Gangster to weaken your victim however your Gangster will lose health from fighting even when he does not take any damage. Healing your Gangster from the HQ will take way to long, a Hospital is advisable.

Once the Gangster killed his 16th enemy you can buy him the final weapon which it cost $25 000.

What counts as a kill are : Worker, Foreman, Repairman, Tenant, Delivery, Gangster, Policeman, Hippy, Thief, Thug, Fixit, Psycho, Clown.

What does not count as a kill : City Hall (grey) Worker and Foreman, Dog, Zombies.
Council Missions and Money Achievement
COUNCIL LETTER
Accomplish a council mission
- There are many council mission I will name a few. To know what mission is active press the "M" to view them.

Left picture, the most common mission is to have your land at 90% used before the time runs out. To view the land usage press "H" or select your HQ.

Right picture, zombie outbreak is also common this happens when a lot of tenants are dead. Luckly these zombies aren't very dangerous and are easily eliminated with Workers.











HIGH ROLLER
Earn 100,000 in rent during a calendar year
- This will require several tenants with rent, please refer to "Extra : Making Money" section for better understanding of your Tenants.

You will require to make $8350 a month to achieve HIGH ROLLER for 12 consecutive month.


SELF-ASSESSMENT
Pay $50,000 in Tax Bills
- This will take several tax payments till you payed $50 000 in grand total.


GRAND DESIGNS
Build your first commission
- Built your way up to level 5 tenants. Select a level 5 tenant property and start house plans, it will take some time before the commisson become available. Press "2" than "x" to open the commission built option and built it.


TOUGH ENOUGH ?
Build a commission on the original hardcore difficulty
- You must set the difficulty to "Original!!!" during map customization.

Once in game, built your way up to level 5 tenants. Select a level 5 tenant property and start house plans, it will take some time before the commisson become available. Press "2" than "x" to open the commission built option and built it. You will get GRAND DESIGNS andTOUGH ENOUGH ? achievement.


MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
Win a game
- Simply finish the match by doing the main objection of the game mode.


ALL THE SIGHTS
Play all maps for at least a year each
- You don't need to finish the map but you do need to reach the second year of Greenfield, Small Town, Riverside, Concrete Jungle and Jungle Map.
Extra : Making Money Part 1
There are 5 ways to make money : Rent, Captured Property, Built and Sell Property, White Marks, and Pawn Shop.

And 2 ways to loan money : City Hall and Mob HQ.


Rent

The most basic way of making money.

Not the fastest way of gaining money early game but overtime it will be worth it. Increasing the tenant happiness is important as you can increase the rent rate but figuring out what make a tenant happy is not obvious at first as it varies each type of tenant.

The screenshot below shows what make them happy (green) and what make them unhappy (-red). To view it hover over the tenant picture.

Yard
Size of the property's yard, the bigger the yard the better, item place on the yard can boost or decrease the yard value
Euphoria
A tenant moving in for the first time (gradually reach to 0)
Rooms
Upgrading all the room the better, leaving a room under construction give -20
Gadgets
Home Computer, Double Glazing, Storm Shutter, Burglar Alarm, Rat Trap and Home Repair Kit increase happiness
Fence
Varied by tenant type, it may increase or decrease the fence value
Damage
Maintain by a Repairman or a Home Repair Kit to reduce the never ending household deterioration
Neighbours
An empty house (no tenant) decrease happiness, a tenant below their level give -5 per level per tenant, a tenant equal or higher than them give 0, -100 (level 1 and 2 tenant) or -200 (level 3 and higher) for 1 or more Garden Gnome in an estate
Street
-100 per construction site, -225 per working factory
Rent
increase in rent give -25 per 5%, decrease in rent give 25 per -5%
Undesirables
Unsolve tenant complaint reduce happiness. Environmental Effectiveness gives 1 per 1% from Park, Statue of Liberty, and Washington Monument
Historical
Explosion cause by demolition/destruction from a building
Sensitivity
Unknown but very likely the rate of complaint

Captured Property

Moderately risky, high reward.

You need at least 1 Foreman (more is better) to capture an enemy property (house) but beware once attempting to capture, the enemy Worker will respond and attack him.

4. Eliminate with Gangster (too expensive).

Once captured you got 2 choice :

1. Selling it give you immediately money of the minimun built value of the property + $2000, very usefull when expanding your territory.

2. Use it to generate rent, very risky as the captured property may not have the proper spacing to place items from the Gadget Factory. Also maintaining will become a challenge ; repairs, possible undesirable and factories on the same estate from the enemy.
The middle side is that this would force the rival to buy more estate as you have taken space on the rivals estate, you can slowly chock them to death if there is no more room to built for them.
Extra : Making Money Part 2
Built and Sell Property

Easy, safe but very loud.

Method 1 : built the lowest possible property (house) and sell it. It will cost you money (for initial built), resource and man power but the return rate for selling it will give you approximately $2000.

Do not built it on your opponents territories as it double the cost and you would lose money in the process.

Do not built it on an estate where your tenant lives due to very loud explosion from demolition. This will cause the tenant to complaint and ask for a Storm Shutter in which it is expensive and has a limited durability.

Do not stretch the building as this does not provide any additional income from selling it.


Method 2 : built like you would normally would let a tenant rent/breed but withhold any heavy renovation. The goal is to let property age to increase the selling value. It is very time consuming but ideal when you want to free up an estate for a higher tier property.

White Marks

Safe but limited.

White Marks are earn by completing certain council mission and solving tenant complaints in which you have to spend more money and earning little amount of White Marks.

However White Marks does have the ability to "take in" Black Marks so if you really don't pay much care to your tenants, that can be handy.

Every 100 White Marks can be converted to $10 000 from the HQ panel.

Pawn Shop

Moderately risky, random reward. (not available in Original!!! difficulty and singleplayer only)

Pawn Shop are available early game and cost $5000 to built it. Select the Pawn Shop choose the second option from the right and aim at the enemy HQ.

This is where it become risky, once the thief is out on the field any rival Policeman (if there is any) will stop him. You can choose the direction of your thief where he should go, he will go the most direct path possible if you have already aimed at your rival HQ, he is considered as an Undesirable (cannot use Subway Station).

If the thief reach at the enemy HQ there is 2 outcome : chase out by a dog or get s*** load of money. If is the latter he will directly return back to his Pawn Shop with the enemy Policeman as a risk factor.

The amount varied from $0 to $10 000 (depend on rivals number of properties). He will be available 100 days multiply by the number of heist done. Eventually he will be less effective to use overtime but this can overcome by demolishing the Pawn Shop and than rebuilding it. Doing so will reset the number of heist done.

Loanning from City Hall

Select the money at the top left screen, press "A" to gain $5000 per $50 a month paid to City Hall.

The dept can be paid at anytime.

Financial Advisor (3 Nerd) can increase (enemy has one) or decrease (you have one) by 20%. The more Financial Advisor you have the less interest rate you have to pay. If your enemies has more Financial Advisor than you have, you pay more.

Loanning from the Mob HQ

The worst come to worst, use this method of loanning last as the interest rate stack up exponentially.

You will need a Mob HQ built.

Mob Loan Max:

Difficulty (Easy) : $60,000
Difficulty (Medium) :$200,000
Difficulty (Difficult) :$200,000
Difficulty (Original) : $60,000

Your minimun loan is $20 000, the interest rate is 2% of the loan however every month that 2% will be stack up to your loan generating a new and increase interest rate.

You have 2 years to pay up all the loan.
Extra : General Tenant Complaints
This section is for a general reference of what to do to prevent ahead of time from complainant complainning.


1. Add 2 Evegreen trees to every property (exception none for the Nerds and Punks; 1 Decidious tree for the Majors before they complaint, 2 trees after complaint).

2. Built fence (varied base on type of tenant) but never : Country Hedgerow, Slatted Wooden Fence, Corral, Wicker, Bamboo, Panel Fence, Oak Chain, Dry Stone Wall, Solid Stone Wall, Solid Brick Wall, Brick & Steel Fence, Razor Wire Enclosure, Nautical Chain, Fortified Wall as they are generally give unhappiness/stress.

3. If you have installed a Dog Kennel on a property, built a solid fence : Slatted Wooden Fence, Privet Hedge (overall the most compatible), Panel Fence, Wilderness Wall, Dry Stone Wall, Solid Stone Wall, Immovable Monolith, Aztec Block, Phnom Penh, Arched Wall, Brick Hedge, Solid Brick Wall, Brick & Steel Fence, Badger Fence, Aquarium, Firebase Barb, Combat Razor, Fortified Wall.

4. Rebuilt fence (expensive) damage from enemy Foreman and Psycho.

5. Anything on fire must be put out either from repair or demolish/destruction.

6. Built Subway Station strategically.

7. All 4 room upgrade for level 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 tenant must be up by 1 level (class 2 room), 2 level up (superior and very expensive) for level 4 if there is level 1 and 2 tenant in the same estate.

8. Do not over tax (rent) your tenant (below 1% happiness/stress level).

9. Double Glazing and Storm Shutter (both expensive) installed to prevent noise and noise cause by explosion.

10. Upgrade all your properties Bathroom by one level to prevent cockroach infestation however if there is no tenant in a property, an emergnecy repair is needed.

11. Avoid building more than three level 4s tenant on the same estate or else you are to built a Hospital on that same estate.

12. Avoid building level 1 and 2 tenant with 4. Avoid building level 1, 2 and 3 tenant with 5.

13. Build a Park.

The tip on upgrading rooms: It is absolutely pointless to upgrade rooms except bedroom for your breeding tenants. Upgrading kitchen is even doing more harm than good, because each child takes more time to produce, so late children take like 1000+ days, it is better to let tenant die faster and replace him to keep children flow.

Also some tips about using Gangsters:
1. Killing dogs count as kills, but not using mafia favor point. So you can upgrade your gangsters for free by entering yards of enemy structures with a kennel and targeting dogs. Spam clicks to prevent gangster from running away.
2. If you lack mafia favor points, but have need to kill some enemy units, you can use a little micromanagement. Damage the enemy using gangster, but do not kill, instead land the final blow with a worker. Using this method, you can exterminate all enemy units with ease, .
3. The weapon with best DPS is a Shotgun. Best response lets you spam clicks and do a lot of damage. Final weapon is good only at blitzkrieg tactics.
4. Blitzkrieg tactics - you damage all enemy units on the map, but do not kill them to slow them down, especially fixers. And if you attack the HQ with enough force, enemy units will not come in time to counter attack or fix the HQ, simple as that.

Also, about making money with a Pawn Shop. Best strategy here is to place pawn shops as close as possible to enemy HQ, even on enemy territory. Yes you'll pay double, but believe me it is worth it. Even if the estate has a cop, it will be easy to pass undetected, because of short travel distance. Also, never send a thief directly to enemy HQ, you loose control over him. Instead, after choosing a heist mission, click on roads to control him as an ordinary unit, and click on HQ when you are very close. It will help you go around cops, and even dog, if one is guarding the HQ.

Hi!

I want to edit this one about nerds:
Solution : Only build White Picket Fence. It is impossible to install Dog Kennel with the Nerd.

Actually it is possible, and I always use kennels with nerds. I am just switching fences each time they complaint and eventually they STOP. approximately after 7th or 8th switch. Funny thing is new generations stop complaining too. Yes it is kinda expensive solution, but better than messing with AI always targeting these houses. Also this exists since PS one.

Not a problem I make guide when I do like the game and in lack of guide. As for Tenant not complaining it depend on your set up for complaint.

I believe it is in option where there is : Default, No Complaint, and All.

Secondly, some tenant will overlook certain needs. Example Brokers will complaint about their fence not been Railing but if you built and upgrade everything for a Brokers need and than you decide to make Aquarium fence, they will overlook it. My guest is the happier they are the less likely they would lodge a complaint.:books:
