Introduction
Ghost Recon® Wildlands HQ is the mobile app for Ghost Recon. Within HQ is a game called Guerilla in which you control rebels that fulfill missions, level up, equip themselves with better weapons and earn resources that can be transferred to your main game (or the DLC's if you start them before transferring).

When you first begin you wont have many characters and things go slow. Follow the ingame help to get started. Once you found your first couple of rebels you will be running all over the place.
Professions
There are 25 characters in the game. Your best characters tend to be the ones you unlocked first since they tend to get the highest levels. But you are going to need a rooster of characters skilled at different things. Each character have scores divided into 3 stats. How the stats are distributed depends on their profession. I will for the purpose of this guide categorize the professions into three main types; specialists, dual-class and jack of all trades.

Points per level
Pickpocket: Power: +10 Discretion: +25 Observation: +10
Thief: Power: +15 Discretion: +25 Observation: +5
Soldier: Power: +25 Discretion: +10 Observation: +10
Warrior: Power: +25 Discretion: +5 Observation: +15
Tactician: Power: +10 Discretion: +10 Observation: +25
Spy: Power: +5 Discretion: +15 Observation: +25
Ninja: Power: +20 Discretion: +20 Observation: +5
Pitfighter: Power: +20 Discretion: +5 Observation: +20
Shadow: Power: +5 Discretion: +20 Observation: +20
Jack of all trades: Power: +15 Discretion: +15 Observation: +15

Specialists
Six classes rely on only one primary stat. They have the highest scores in that stat in the game, but suffer in the other two.

Soldiers and Warriors in power (red)
Pickpocket and Thief in discretion (blue)
Tacticians and Spies in observation (green)

The Warrior, Thief and Spy has a slightly higher secondary stat, but this distinction is mostly irrelevant since even when maxed out they will be focused on completing missions with their primary stat only. Try to keep track of at least two specialists in power, one or two in discretion and one or two in observation. Your first three specialists are likely going to be Jimena Martins (power), Alejandro Pedraza (discretion) and Ruben Aguilar (observation).

Equipment that gives a % bonus to a stat are best for specialists. The higher the base stat the more you get out from equipment. Equip specialists with the best equipment you have that provides a % increase to one stat. Put your very best equipment on the character with the highest level. The equipmentbonus and statbonus you might get as a veteran are counted separately, so if you have +10% from a helmet and +10% from a veteran bonus with 200 power you will end up at 240.

Power equipment: Helmet, Medium Armor Vest, Battledress Pants, Assault Rifle, Ammo Pouches
Discretion equipment: Scarf, Hoodie, Camouflage Pants, Submachine Gun, Silencer
Observation equipment: Cap, Camo Net, Leather Pants, Sniper Rifle, Binoculars

Specialists tend to level up faster than other classes because they are consistently capable of taking on missions with a higher difficulty and thus consistently earns more experience points.

Dual-class
Unlike the specialists the dual-class professions have two high stats and one low.

Ninja in power and discretion
Pitfighter in power and observation
Shadow in discretion and observation

The high stats will still be lower than the specialist at the same level however. Dual-class are best used for spamming low to mid-difficulty missions. Miguel Castro and Isabella Arragones are specialists who have the "wrong" veteran bonus, meaning that they get a stat boost to a secondary stat. Unfortunately, since the veteran bonus and equipment doesn't stack they can't be treated as a dual-class. They will ultimately end up weaker specialists. At level 29 the loss of "75" is not a gamebreaker however.

There are equipment that provide 2 stats instead of one. These are best used with your dual-class characters. So if you have an ammo pouch that provides observation in addition to power, put it on your pitfighter. If you have a silencer that provides power in addition to discretion, put it on your ninja. If you do not have enough such equipment you can replace them with "Mission chance of Success"-items, at least in earlier levels (see the "Jack of all Trades" section below). When the dual-stat character approach level 29 a full set of dual-stat equipment at level 5-15 will yield better results than a full set of "Mission chance of Success"-items. Optionally, to even out their respective veteran bonuses you could stick one item on Carmelo Bejano that yields discretion only and one item on Elena Botejo that yields power only.

Dual-classes will lag behind specialists at gaining experience points since they are not able to take on missions with the same difficulty. But they are also more likely to find a good nearby mission.

Jack of All Trades
Jack of All Trades have equal scores in all three stats. Just like dual-class they are best for moving around spamming low to mid-difficulty missions. I suggest equipping your Jack of All Trades with equipment that gives a “Mission chance of Success” bonus.

Jack of all trades when boosted with "Mission chance of Success" equipment can still not match a dual-class profession in the mission difficulty they can take on and they will probably end up far behind on levels. Juana Pedriel (Chance of Success +15%) will be better than Agusto Vaca (Speed +20%) since the extra 15% compensate for the low stats you get on Jack of All Trades. In fact, when all things are considered, Agusto Vaca seems like a weak character, until you consider the fast-resources tactic that I explain the Level 29 section. Remember however, that if you have equipment that gives you +15% chance of success and three pistols you will still have roughly 1/2 chance at beating even the 2000 difficulty mission which is one of the fastest ways to get Augusto to level 29.

Mission chance of Success equipment: Headset, Heavy Armor Vest, Apex Pants, Light Machine Gun, Grenades

Rebel Rabbid
Rebel Rabbid is an unique character that switches profession. I suggest treating him as a Jack of All Trades, giving him the best Mission Chance of Success equipment you can find. Then you wont have to change his equipment whenever he levels up. Once you reach level 29, Rebel Rabbid will permanently be a Pickpocket so at that point he can be seen as a specialist for discretion. In fact, he will be your best character for discretion so you can treat him as a specialist and give him the best discretion-equipment you can.
Missions
General
Missions are divided into red (combat, power), blue (stealing, discretion) and green (spying, observation). You start missions by clicking a Rally Point (looks like a house), pick a character, then a mission, then a Rally Point again. Every time a mission is solved you get bonustime, experience points and maybe loot (or resources).

When missions are unavailable the time have ran out before you reach it (reduce the amount of waypoints) or its a character mission (can only be unlocked by the character its for).

Speed (bike): Pick up speed (bike) whenever its nearby. Even if the bike is located a bit off it will speed up the time it takes to complete the mission in the long run.
Intel (folder): If you know you wont be able to play actively for awhile you aren't in a hurry. Make sure to pick up three Intel (folder) on your way to the mission. They will make increase your chances for good loot.
Support (pistol): Each gives +9% up to +27%. Aim at getting at least 100% chance to beat the mission. Higher success-chance seem to lead to higher chance to get 4-5 stars though so more is nice when you go for loot but do not matter if you are going for experience points.
Clues (flag): If you have 100% to win, prioritize picking up the clues you see. Clues unlock new Rally Points. If you can't get 100% to win, save the clues for characters who can.
Meditation (XP+): Like intel, if you aren't in a hurry, always get one. Especially on low level characters. They become meaningless once you reach level 29 however.

Which missions to take
You have roughly 60% chance to beat a mission with the same difficulty as your stat. If you have 275 power you have roughly 60% to beat a 275 difficulty combat mission. A good practice is to try to send your characters to do missions at about 3/4 their best stat, then pick up three pistols on the way (+27%), followed by a XP+ after. This will consistently yields the best reward and maximum experience points.

One way to fast level your very first levels is to put characters on the highest difficulty missions you can, with 3 pistols. Even if they lose and end up wounded you can get massive xp fast (4000xp for the 2000 difficulty mission). Of course, you may end up hospitalized for 8 hours... Should your character succeed on a lucky roll (1/4 chance) they may get thousands of xp and several levels. Once they have a few hundred in their primary stats its probably better to use pistols and xp+ to do the highest difficulty you can with the highest benefit. However, if you use Mission Chance of Success equipment on your Jack of All Trades characters they still benefit from attempting missions at a high difficulty to speed up their leveling.

Unlocks (Mission, Province, Rebel)
These should be your priority, especially "new rebel". Use your specialists or your veterans with the "mission chance to success" ability. You can place them in nearby Rally Points and spam the mission over and over again. Even at 20% chance you will beat the mission eventually and you get xp even for failing. At worst you may end up wounded. Having two characters dedicated on the same mission allow you to use one while the other is hurt. Sometimes you even need two characters to beat one of these.

Character Quest Missions
The character missions unlock once you reached level 2 or 3 with a character (or +1 level with the last secret character). Before you start a character mission check the characters profession. When you decide what option to take try to guess whether the option involves fighting, sneaking or spying. Pick the choice your character is good at.

Regions
The center (Itacua, Ocoro, Pucara, P.N. De Agua Verde) is good for new rebels only.
The upper left (Koani, Remanzo, Mojocoyo, Media Luna and San Mateo) is a good place once the rebels pass 4-500. The region will have plenty of missions around 300 in difficulty. The lower right (Caimanes, La Cruz, Flor De Oro and Libertad) will have missions around 5-600 with some going up to 1000. The upper right (Tabacal, Monte Punco, Espirito Santo and Villa Verde) will have missions that peaks around 750. The lower left (Barvechos, Montuyoc, Inca Camina and Malca) will have missions that go up to around 950, including a special 2000 mission that returns every once in awhile.
Fast-Forward
In center-bottom of the screen is a fast-forward button that consumes a blue bar when pushed. It will fast forward 75 minutes in an instant, but takes 12 hours and 15 minutes to refill. You will get your fast-forward pool back when completing missions however. If you are playing actively, try to do faster missions. Not only will they complete faster, you will get some of the fast-forward pool back upon completion. If you know you wont play for awhile you can put all your characters on missions that take less than 75 minutes to complete, fast-track, then put them on a second mission that may take as long as you like (using pistols/support and folders/intel).

Check out the trick using a high level Augusto Vaca in the Level 29 section.

Resources and loot
When you beat a mission you see the number of stars you get. When you score 4-5 stars you are more likely to loot an item.

The stars seems based in one part of the initial chance you had to beat the mission plus a random diceroll. If you have 200% to beat a mission, chances are great that you will also get 5 stars. For this reason you can in theory boost your chance to receive loot by picking up extra pistol/support on your way.

Equipment is leveled based on the difficulty you beat. If you do a difficulty 500-1000 mission and get lucky you can get loot somewhere between level 15-25. Loot from the difficulty 2000 mission might end up around 40.

If you put a great character on weak missions, you have a high chance to loot, but the equipment level comes out poor. This is still be fine because you can still loot 500-750 resources, even from weak missions. In fact, having a few fast characters running around the center, spamming the very low missions there, will allow you to swiftly gather resources and get a fraction of fast-track pool back whenever you complete a mission, which is nice if you are actively playing a boring day or need to fill up your resources to transfer to your game the following week.

When you see a difficulty 1000 mission you want to go at it with your very best, making sure you have three folder/intel and three support/pistol with you to maximize your chance to get an item.

You may transfer 5000 resources to your main game per day. This usually means +1250 in each of gasoline, communications gear, food and medicine. Once you unlocked all provinces and characters you can get 5000 resources in a single session and several times that amount if you play throughout a day.
Beyond Level 29
Your best characters are likely going to be the ones you unlocked first since they are likely to keep the highest level until they reach the level cap at 29. If you don't drop the game at that point and continue playing you will eventually end up with all your characters at level 29 upon which gathering experience points become moot.

At this point you are only going to be able to improve characters with looted equipment and if you play the main game still you might be interested in swiftly gathering resources that you can transfer to your game. For this reason you need to understand the loot system to optimize your game.

Three tiers of missions
Low difficulty missions (0-300): These missions are still likely to yield 500-750 resources, so they are not meaningless, to the contrary!
Medium difficulty missions (300-600): These missions can still yield decent equipment for awhile, but eventually they are only useful when they spawn close to waiting characters.
High difficulty missions (600+): These missions are the ones to do for the chance to get the highest leveled equipment in the game.

Dual-class: Send on missions and let them go
Dual-class characters are likely to peak at around 800 if you keep equipping them. In theory, you can load one Power-only item on Elena Botejo and an one Discretion-only item on Carmelo Bejano to even them out because they have +75 from their veteran ability in the other. Unfortunately their use is rather limited at this point. The best use is to simply put them on the closest mission they can do and just allow them to complete it in time. They will earn fast-track pool back and have a good chance to loot 500-750 resources, but beyond that their use is limited. Due to the lack of Observation characters, you may be tempted to boost Camilla Montero with Observation bonus equipment since there will always be enough power-characters around, but she will always be lagging behind anyway and the 900 difficulty Observation missions are out of her reach. If she is positioned near difficulty 200-400 power/observation missions she usually gets a good nearby mission to put her on and let her go. Fernando Escobar is a bit different, and I will mention him in the next paragraph, but if you like you can use even more Dual-class characters with the same strategy as Jack of all Trades which follows...

Jack of All Trades: Harvest low-difficulty for resources
Jack of All Trades characters are useless for equipment at this point and they no longer needs experience points. For this reason you should reequip them with speed-boosting items (Crash Helmet, Pilot Jacket, Jeans, Pistol, Tactical Watch). Begin with Augusto Vaca (with +20% speed already). Do the same with Juana Pedriel and Fernando Escobar. Put all three in the middle of the map, where most missions are below 100 in difficulty, then do missions there over and over again. They are able to finish missions in 20 minutes, sometimes even lower, usually earning maximum result which means a great chance to loot. Equipment they get is useless (discard them) but they are also very likely to get 500-750 resources and retrieve a small amount of fast-track pool back as well.

Specialists: Go for the high level equipment
The "specialists" will move faster through the levels since they can often take higher difficulty missions. The +10% stat veteran bonuses may seem good at first, but its not a big deal since you will only get +75 from the veteran bonus at level 29. The specialists who get +15% Chance of Success (Gabriel Pinto, Rebel Rabbid and the secret warrior) are the best at beating missions at that point. At level 29 Rebel Rabbid will be your highest rated character for discretion since he will permanently be a pickpocket. Eventually your specialists will reach around 1200 in their primary stat, allowing them to take difficulty 1000 missions at a 100% success chance every time.

Since equipment level with difficulty, specialists will still be useful to try to get better equipment for your characters for awhile. You should try to consistently do medium to high difficulty missions as long as you can get as many folder/intel you can on the way. Since success seems dependent on your initial chance to beat the mission you may actually benefit from collecting support/pistols too. Keep your specialists waiting until you see nearby high missions for them to take, or do swift low-level missions for the same reason as your dual-class characters explained above.

The veteran ability that boost loot quality (Marco Sanchez, Pablo Cuellar and Raul Suarez) is nice. However, the equipment that grant "increase chance to loot quality" doesn't seem worth it. Higher difficulty missions yields a higher chance for better loot, so boosting your stats for higher missions seems better than "increase chance to loot quality" items. Remember that Marco Sanchez is crippled at this point since he wont be able to do high difficulty missions no matter what since he is a Ninja, removing his usefulness. However, should you by chance get a very high level loot-item (20-40) you could put it on Gabriel Pinto, Alejandro Pedraza or Arturo Alcocer, along with your best observation equipment. This will make him similar to Pablo Cuellar or Raul Suarez. There are no Observation characters with the veteran increased loot chance ability.
