Yu-Gi-Oh! (遊☆戯☆王 Yūgiō, Japanese for "Game King") is a popular Japanese anime and manga franchise from Kazuki Takahashi that mainly involves characters who play a card game called Duel Monsters (originally called Magic & Wizards in the manga. See the section "Card game" below for different names of the game) where in each player purchases and assembles a Deck of Monster, Spell, and Trap Cards in order to defeat one another and gain victory.

Yu-Gi-Oh! R is a manga series that is a spinoff of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise.
Yu-Gi-Oh! R was published in V Jump in Japan and published in English by Viz Media. The manga is made by Akira Itou. Yu-Gi-Oh! R features an additional plotline which takes place after the defeat of Marik Ishtar. The plot involves the Yako Tenma, the protégé of Maximillion J. Pegasus, trying to avenge the death of Pegasus.
