This guide pretends to solve the "Access Violation" problem with the game that wont let you play

Con esta guía se pretende ayudarte a resolver el problema de "Access Violation" que te impide jugar

FIX Access violation problem with Real Warfare 1242 [ENGLISH]

After starting the game I get an "Access violation" error. So I investigated a little in the internet, and I found some solutions

My Pc runs Windows 7 64-Bit


1. Go to ATI Catalyst control Center / nVidia Control Panel settings (ATI in my case. Catalyst Control Center) and set the option of waiting for vsync -> off or disabled.
2. go to Sistem Properties (of your computer) > advanced settings > Perfomance settings > Data Execution Prevention. Now here you must check the second option, then add there the game launcher, called "engine.exe" located in your steam/steamapps/common/real warfare1242 folder. Aply changes now

3. (optional) disable Aero style of Windows

Solucionar Problema de "Access Violation" del juego Real Warfare 1242 [ESPAÑOL]

Teniendo el juego, la primera vez que lo ejecuté me saltó error de "Access violation" asi que busqué en internet un poco alguna solución, y encontré algo que me sirvió y el juego ahora funciona perfecto.

Uso Windows 7 64-Bits

1º Ve al configurador de tu tarjeta gráfica ATI o nVidia. En mi caso es ATI, el Catalyst Control Center, Los que tengáis nVidia id al nVidia Control Panel. Y ahi buscad una opción sobre sincronización vertical o vsync y configuradla como apagada o desactivada. aplica cambios y guarda

2º Ve a Propiedades del sistema > Configuracion avanzada del sistema(a la izquierda de la ventana) > Pestaña de Opciones avanzadas, busca la sección de rendimiento y entra en el botón "configuración". Ahora en la nueva ventana busca la pestaña "Prevención de Ejecución de Datos" y ahi asegurate de que esté seleccionada la 2ª opción "Activar DEP para todos los programas y servicios excepto los que seleccione:" Ahora haz click sobre "Agregar..." y ahi busca el ejecutable del juego, se llama "engine.exe" y estará en tu carpeta de juegos de Steam: Steam/Steamapps/common/Real Warfare 1242. Lo seleccionas y que se añada a la ventana anterior, luego le das a aceptar y listo.

3º(opcional) desactiva el estilo visual Aero de Windows

con eso a mi me funciona perfecto en windows7 de 64 bits.

Hey good if it is working for you.
I am trying to access my Data Execution Prevention Tab but nothing is clickable except Okay and Cancel. I cannot turn it on neither can I add exceptions. I can turn it on/off through CMD line ran as administrator, but the Tab is the same non negotiable either way. Can you help me? I have scoured the web and microsoft knowledge bases. I have Windows 10. Is it obsolete or do I need to install ADK from microsoft or something? Thanks for any help.
