The Complete Guide For Ylands: Tutorial and Crafting Guide + Item ID's

All important Infos for Starting the Game

After Starting the game you’ll see the following Menu on your screen:

To the left:
Continue
New Game
Multiplayer
Editor

If your controls are set to game pad you might like to go to the settings button at the menu upper right corner of the screen, you will find in the next menu that opens the controls button, choose there mouse and keyboard from the active controllers list.

It can be useful to reduce the sound settings a bit because the sounds can be pretty loud, SFX volume will be the one you will want to lower a bit because those are the sound effects of the surrounding and those can be too loud. At Video you’ll find the graphics settings and if your experience a lot of lag ingame you might want to lower your settings in there.

Top right corner you’ll also find the shop for the game, that has a lot of nice skins, but they aren’t needed to play the game.

Gamemode choice:

There are 3 different game modes you can choose from:
1) Explore, which gives you a map with several islands and partly hostile animals.
2) Creative mode, which will allow you to build free and peaceful and to choose a landsize, climate and environment you want to spawn at.
3) Multiplayer or CO-OP mode, which allows you to create a small server for up to 8 people.

Choose “New Game” → Play → Create now your character → Don’t forget: To name your world afterwards
Other players will have to search with this name for your server later if they want to join you, so you should choose anything recognizable.

After logging into the Multiplayer a menu will pop up automatically and give you the option to set your server to visible to all, choose how many players should be able to join and set up a password at passphrase. At the final setting you can allow other people to join and then you should hit the “publish” button.

The creative mode allows you to choose at the advanced settings even the length of the day, the land count (probably the amount of islands on your map), the terrain type and the spawn location. Additionally you’ll have in your inventory a creator cube menu that will offer you every existing item from the game to build with it. You don’t need to get resources but can just drag an infinite stack of the item into your quick slot to build with it as much as you like. Also the crafting menu is already completely unlocked in this mode. Animals will not attack you even if you would attack them, your health is infinite and you can’t die.

Join a Singleplayergame and change it to Multiplayer:

If you started a Singleplayer map already and want later on any friend to join, you only need to continue your game and go in, then go on esc and to the options, there you can turn that game into a Multiplayer and let your friend join. You might need to at first publish the game before you can allow people to join in that option menu of the Multiplayer, which means you might need to open the menu twice to put all settings in.

Official Servers:

Warning: The official servers are at the moment invaded by trolls and griefers and provide tons of lag.

Go to the Multiplay Menu to join an official server. Look for a server name with the name “Official” in front. If you want to find a certain server you can always use the search function.

Joining a friend’s game:

Click on the “Multiplayer” button in the main menu of the game, a window with a server list will open, under the word “World name” you’ll find the search function. Put the name of your friend’s server in there. If you remove the name again and click on the World name Writing the original server list will pop up again. You can also just scroll down this list.

If you can’t find the server you were looking for either your friend might have forgotten to make his server visible or he might be from overseas and if he is at a different time zone you’ll need to remove the mark at “my region only” above the servers list.

Interface:

When you start your game you’ll see an interface with quick slots at the bottom. To its left is your bare hand, which you’ll use for collecting. Please keep in mind to only use and activate that hand slot to pick up loot, because if you have any tool in your hands you would probably destroy the loot, because you would hit it. To the left upper corner is your life bar with 5 hearts. Hunger and cold can reduce this bar slowly, if animals attack you one hit can reduce this life bar far faster and more dramatically.

There are more possibilities to get creative at Ylands. The developers did add an editor to the game which you can use to create a new map or alter any already existing ones that you are playing on. Be aware that items on the ground will not move with the terrain if you change the surface. You will have to delete or move them one by one yourself afterwards. If you’d like to use the editor you’ll find it at the start menu.
If you want to change anything in a scenario you are playing already you need to open the editor, go then in the menu above to the very left on “file”, then choose “open”, a window will open called “select scenario to edit”, at the bottom of this window you need to choose now “games”, click now on the name of your world and then hit the “open” button on the bottom of that window. ( A tutorial to the editor is already further downwards available)

All Important Basics

The use of items:

Put the item in a quickslot, left clicking will let you use it after you chose the slot by its number or by a click on the slot with your mouse cursor.
There are some items ingame that you can’t place that easy, you need to pull those into a quickslot, activate the slot and press E on your keyboard afterwards to choose “activate free placement”. Now you can drop the item anywhere and also pick it up again afterwards. While you are building you can usually also pick up the last dropped items for about 1-2 minutes.
Trees need to be cut down again after chopping them down to get their different materials, which are wood pieces, logs, bark, branches and resin. With the resin you can craft torches. The wood pieces are used at fireplaces to build or refuel them and at the stove to start a fire. You need to pull that wood into a quickslot and face the oven or fireplace to left click for a while till it gets added. Afterwards you’ll need to lighten the fire with a flint lighter. The flint lighter can be crafted with 2 flint at your crafting menu in your inventory. You can also press tab to open this menu.
To place things you just crafted you can use the menu shown to the right of your screen to turn the object and by a right click or by choosing any different quick slot you can get rid of the item on your cursor. Rotate objects by using the keys J,K and L on your keyboard. Try out holding Crtl + WASD to move things on the grid.

Something I personally considered to be very important is to realize that you may not miss that the crafting station's menu offers you very often to craft the same thing with different materials, for example the spinning wheel offers to choose from 3 yarn rolls to craft either with flax, or with cotton or with sisal the yarn. Same for leather that can be made by all kinds of pelt that drops from enemies. Took me a while to realize this and a couple of other workbenches offer this option too.
The bellows can be crafted by leather or by using fabric instead. So much for the pacifists and scaredy cats :)
To unlock crafting recipes you only need to collect all the available materials one time, you don’t need to carry them afterwards all the time. You might need to craft a saw and use it on logs for building wooden things till the wood building tier does show up with doors, tables and all the beams and blocks to build houses.

The most important: Food!

The fire can be used to cook food. You’ll need berries, melons, pineapple or could also use potatoes, carrots or other vegetables to roast something different than meat or fish or cook some stew. Indeed the cooked food will feed you for longer than any raw food will do. You should also take it with you on the travels to not starve out there on the ocean. Grain can be converted to flour in the mortar and corn seems to be consumed raw only. There are a very few plants in Ylands that will regrow the harvest, Sisal Agave (grows in the desert) gets used for crafting cloth, the Banana Tree will give you bananas all the time (grows on tropical islands), Arctic Willow (grows in tundra) is used to make a full heal bandage, instead of using aloe vera.

Clothing:

Some basics about creating clothes. You can craft some grass clothes in the beginning, it eats only some rope and grass up, except you like the fancy underwear you’ll start with so much that you want to keep it or just love to be out in the cold. It also depends on which island you spawn, because a more northern climate will of course let you freeze faster than any desert or tropical one. There are a lot of skins in the item shop but you’ll find also plenty for free in the crafting menu. To produce those items you’ll need to craft thread and fabric with a spinning wheel and a weaving loom. I personally preferred to at first take care of the canvas for my sails. The big mast eats up 10 of the fabric which did kinda use up most of my cotton on my island because iI crafted several of those. It can be smart to break down (gets offered if you click on a cotton plant in your inventory) some of those plants to regain some seeds and replant the cotton plants. It will grow within 2-3 days. By the way another important hint, if you are the lucky one that found a desert island in the game you will be out of trouble of replanting to produce thread because the sisal plants only need to be planted one time and give then continuously leaves that you can use for crafting yarn and fabric.

Caving:

If you decide to go into any cave you should prepare with food, lots of light sources (or just wear a Miners Helmet), maybe also with some way signs and medical supplies, if you don’t prefer to dig your way out after getting totally lost in the huge cave systems. In caves, but also sometimes under water and in special buildings and chests around the islands are secrets and treasures and some rare materials to discover, but there are also mutated animals that can drop Ylandian dust. Warning: The fall damage in caves can be deadly!

Weather Effects:

Storms can be wild in Ylands. There is normal rain and fog and snowfall that will only reduce your sight a bit but have no big influence on you, but there are also a lot of storms that will take your sight and create a rough sea and maybe even blow out your torches outdoors. For that reason sailing might not be fun while it's real bad weather, prepare by having a bed on you ship to skip that time or by building crafting stations and crafting to use the time. Keep also in mind that you might freeze in a colder area when the weather turns bad, which might force you to fast leave that area if you don't have any warming clothes.

Taming Horses:

You can tame a horse by feeding grass or fruit. You need to put the food into a quick slot and click on it to feed the horse. First it will turn from wild to friendly, then the game will offer you to name it. Right click on it to mount it and to get off right click it again. If you press E on your keyboard you can summon your horse by whistling.

A Command to get unstuck:

Yes there is one but if you use /unstuck 0 or /unstuck 1-3 while you are sailing you might end up on any island.

First/Third person view and local Chat:
If you want to change view just press C on your keyboard.
Local chat seems to only work if you are in a range where people could still hear you.

When night falls:

If you play singleplayer you can easily skip the night by sleeping. If you just started out you should dig a tiny cave into a hill to make sure that the game lets you also sleep at bad weather conditions because it will usually refuse to let you do so if it’s raining. In multiplayer you are currently not allowed to sleep at all, which means you better make sure not to get stuck at bad weather and in the night on the ocean if you can’t spend the time somehow useful, because building a shelter and bed on the ship won’t help.

How to find materials like metal:

Metal, coal, flint, clay, sulfur and salpeter are not to be found in caves, except to gold they are patches on the ground nearby mountains or hills. They got different colours. Copper is red, iron looks like silver, clay got a lightbrown sandcolor (lighter than the beach), flint is almost white, coal is of course black. You’ll fast see the patches from distance and be able to distinguish them.

Important Basics 2

Underwater Diving Equipment:

There is some diving equipment like flippers that you can craft. You need to get rubber from the rubber trees of a tropical island. You need to farm it with a knife in your hands. After taking the rubber the tree needs to recover for a while before you can farm it again. Btw. you'll need rubber also for building a car, rubber and sulfur to be more exact. Sulfur and Sandstone you seem to find easiest at desert islands. Resin can be extracted same way from other trees.

The crafting of Tools and Weapons:

Press Tab to open your crafting menu or go to your inventory and look there for the menu. The things that are red marked you can’t craft at the moment. Probably you are just missing some materials to do so. You can see the number of the same item you could craft in the items crafting picture slot to the right down corner. To craft something you can either right click on its picture or just left click on it and then on the craft button.
The materials you’ll use up will get shown to the right down side of the window.
The most important tools are a knife and a hammer. Best is to always carry those for crafting. A knife can also be used for collecting Resin from trees.

Fighting, Dying and Respawn:

The first enemy you are facing might ambush you and you will be tempted to run away. My advice: Don't run, fight!
Trust me I am myself the biggest coward ever, in this single case I am typical woman, although I usually act rather like men. I am a scaredy cat, a sissy, a wimp, whatever you'd call it, but if I see an enemy I am simply gone :D as fast as I can, at least till I figured out how strong that guy is and if I got a good weapon to kill him, her, it. I learned in survival games and I do totally love those, that I need to sneak in the beginning, or run, depending on the situation. I mean if you spawn in ARK next to a T-Rex on the beach there is no way to escape any more, but other than that unlucky case you can usually avoid a lot of trouble if you just go on any higher spot to overview the place and be prepared by this. So keep in mind to not move any not needed step away from your spawn till you crafted any weapon, like at least a stone knife, because every little bit will help in case you get attacked and then try to reach a higher spot to look around. Next thing is to understand that you may not hit the plants or stones around, you need to aim to let the animals name show up while hitting or move to an empty spot ( or just pick up everything on the ground if you got the time to) and lure it to you.
Now in case you got unlucky surprised and could not kill the enemy you'll drop all your stuff on that spot where you got killed and the game will ask if you want to start a new character. Don't be worried, choose to do that and you'll end up at the same island, probably even at the same spawn point. Now you can take your time to get your items back. The animal that killed you will probably still guard your stuff, but luckily those guys either move away after a while or they got stuck on that spot and will not even attack if you go there. Be smart craft another knife before you try and suicide :D or just wait at first if the predator moves away, you may even sleep a night, your stuff will be still there.
Now lets talk about dying out in the ocean, in the best case on a different island, in a less good case on your ship and in the worst case under water.
A first aid rescue action can be to go to the editor and create fast a second ship to get later in the map back to your stuff, because you'll probably spawn at your starter island. Alternatively you can just drop in the editor all materials you'll need to craft another ship, go back in your game afterwards and craft one. You'll find a list of the mats at my chapter about "Ships and Sailing".
If you dislike cheating like this you can just craft a small boat and try to get back where you died.
I read recently that the developers tried to fix this issue, that you most of the times don't spawn where you died, but to me that did not always work out. So prepare for "s h i t happens"!
So yeah if I should advice you what to do best when you start the game, I would stay for now on the start island to build a house, because you'll end up there anyway for respawn ;)
And one more thing: If you die and can not find your stuff at your gravestone it is probably anywhere above or below it, I found mine for example one time on the roof top, when I died inside of my house.

Storage and Inventory Expansion

Inventory Slots Expansion:

OH my good full inventory, the usual problem, all that crap got to go anywhere. More room to keep loot do give some items that are like boxes inside of your inventory. The seed box is one of them and stores a lot of seeds for you. Fun fact is that it stores and shows a lot more of its room if you don’t drop it anywhere but keep it in your inventory. Click on it to open it and click on the dots to the left upper corner to close it. The coal basket is another one. Not going to describe now for which use it might be. The herb bag is also one of those slot expansion items. So is the potion belt, the seashell jar, the pigment jar, the key chain and the soil container.

Storage boxes, Storage room!
Something really absolutely important seems to me the size of the items you can store stuff in.
Here is the ultimate storage guide for you:
Sack, Wooden Chest, Iron Table – 6 slots
Alchemist and Metal Sphere, Pirate Chest, Basket, Barrel, Furniture that look like big bookshelves, Wooden box and wooden table – 9 slots
Metal Container, furniture that look like a dresser and big kitchen vitrine (cabinet) –12 slots
Alchemist Chest, Bank Safe, Bamboo Chest, Egyptian Chest, Oriental chest –15 slots
Stone chest and a big furniture that looks like a wardrobe – 18 slots
There are also two very small shelves with 1 and 3 boards. Those are more like decoration to drop anything on them.

The Ship and Searching Islands

The raft could maybe sink at any storm, definitely it is not good to steer in a straight line from A to B. The small boat isn’t bad but the minus to it is that you can’t drop anything on it. So the choice should be the smaller version of the ship you can build. On this one you can then drop some masts because the more of those you got the faster the ship will go. You should watch it how you turn your masts, because you’ll only see that if you hold them far enough from yourself, because you’ll otherwise mess that up fast. If you still mess it up you can go to the editor, open your game file there, look for your ship on the island (nice is that the editor usually seems to load on your starter island) and turn the mast ;)
I would recommend to put the ship helm in the front for a free view and right behind yourself the shelter and a bed to be able to skip fast the night and bad weather. Your view might be a bit blocked by the shelter if you build it close.
I should probably also mention that you can not get the massive logs dropped by any tree, you need to craft those from the normal logs.
Before you start travelling you should craft a map. A fishing rod might be helpful too. I also read that lanterns keep predators away so you should place some where you usually enter your ship. The ship will go on by itself once you brought the sails down.
Because I got several times stuck under my ship by removing some sand that did make it stranded, I advice you to aim on the ship top, the ladder or the ship helm and rightclick to get out, also you can use the /unstuck command and if you manage to damage your ship you can do the following: Open the editor, open your map, double click on your ship and set health back up to 16000.
By the way if you have no pier yet and sharks are camping around your ship, lure them to the beach, try to stand there in them and kill them with any weapon, they will only bite if they are in water. Or you build a raft to go to the ship.
Look for birds to find islands and check around the lighter spots in water for the islands. There are usually 8-12 (15 is maximum on player made maps) islands on each map and it seems to be immense luck to find them. It can be helpful to search seagulls near to your own island and follow them, because they can fly between the islands in a streight line.
If you are that unlucky to fall off the ship while you were sailing, you'll not reach it anymore because it will be quite fast, I had on mine 7 big masts, which made travelling quite fast and nice ( btw you also won't run aground that easily on coastal sands), but one day I died by falling off because my game crashed and there was a shark nearby. The game will probably spawn you on the closest island. Be smart and log off the game for a second to stop your ship, because then it will have the sails not up anymore. Don't know if it does that too if you just get out of sight. I crafted fast a raft and looked for my ship and found it because I knew by my map where about I died. And don't bother to pick up your stuff, the shark would only kill you again.

Large Mast: 10x Cloth + 4x Massive logs + 1x Sewing Kit + 10x Rope
Ship Helm: 10x Log + 10x Nails + 10x Rope, by using any axe and hammer

Crafting Stations/Workbenches and Furnaces

Knife and Hammer:
Knife and hammer are basic tools you’ll always need for crafting.

Tanning Rack:
Allows you to craft leather from hide. To craft the rack you need 6x poles and 2x any rope. The leather is used at armour and the bellows for the smithy.

Spinning Wheel:
The spinning wheel, turns flax, cotton, or sisal into yarn. It is crated with 6x poles and 2x any rope. It takes 3x of these ingredients to make 1x yarn. If you create sewing kits keep in mind that they are not always a one time use items, for some thing they can be reused. You need to craft a needle and a yarn to craft the sewing kits.

Weaving Loom:
This loom turns yarn into cloth. It takes 6x poles and 2x any rope to craft the weaving loom. For each piece of fabric you got to craft 3x yarn in the spinning wheel before.

Smelting Furnace:
The smelting furnace is powered by coal and allows you to create ingots from ore. It requires a single piece of coal to fuel, which gets added by putting the coal or charcoal in a slot of your hot-bar and then facing the oven and pressing the quick slot till the coal was put in. After this, a lighter must be used to lighten the furnace. You need 15 clay to craft it.

Blacksmith Forge:
The blacksmith forge requires to pre-craft items before you can build it with them (bellows & anvil). It requires a single piece of coal or charcoal to fuel, which must be added by putting the coal in a slot of your hot-bar. After this, a lighter must be used to start the fire. It gets crafted by 20 clay + 1 anvil + 1 bellows by using a hammer.
Anvil needs: 1x ironingot by using a hammer
Bellows need: 3x leather or 3x cloths + 1 sewing kit (1 thread and 1 needle) gets crafted in the crafting menu.

Kiln:
The kiln will unlock recipes for crafting glass, windows and bricks. It is crafted by 15 clay.
You need a single piece of coal to use the kiln. Lighten it afterwards as usual.

Paperpress:
The paperpress you will probably only use one time to craft your map. The map is needed to know later on still where you did already sail. For the paperpress you need 5 logs + 10 iron ingots by using a hammer.
To craft paper you need to at first craft at the fireplace or stove wood pulp.

Dyingstand:

To craft it you will need 5 raw glass and 5 iron ingots by using any hammer. Inside of this dyingstand you can recolour items if you crafted some pigments too.

Alchemy table:

The alchemy table is meant to craft potions. You can craft this bench with 8 nails, 8 planks, one glas flask by using any hammer.
In the forest you will sometimes find some magic plants with strangely bubbling blossoms, those get always used for the potions. The magic dust can also be found sometimes in caves and you can produce it by putting the blossoms in the mortar. The glowing mushrooms from the caves are btw also for a potion. Here is a list of potions and their ingredients:

Berry Head Potion 10x Raspberries + 1x Magic dust – Shrinks your head
Cold Resistance Potion 10x Bearberries + 1x Magic dust – Protects you from extreme cold
Craftman’s Potion 5x Grain + 1x Magic dust – Allows to instantly craft things
Glow Potion 1 Glowing mushroom + 1x Magic dust – Illuminates the area around you

Energy Workbench:

To craft it take 10 planks, 10 nails, 1 soldering iron, 1 magnifying glass by using any hammer.

Map Editor

This is just a little assistance for you to get faster used to the editor of this game, click on the pictures to enlarge them:
You can move in the editor with the right mouse button, with WASD you can also move your view, zoom in with the mouse wheel and use the left mouse button to move and drop objects. Z and Y moves your view down.
You can turn objects by using J,K and L and you can remove them by using delete on your keyboard. The colon will hide your interface.
To the very left on top of the editor window you can open an already existing world at "File".

If you want to open an already existing map that you already played or did build on you'll find this scenario at the drop down menu of file:
Go to File → Open → a new window will open “select scenario to edit” downwards is a button called “games” click on that → now look for the name of your game and click on it and afterwards on "open" on the right down side of that window. Now your world will load.

If you go on top of the editor instead on "Game" you can create a completely new world. Click there in the drop down menu on “Generate new terrain”
and there then on “Make new Yland”, a new window with a globe will open now.
if you click on the globe, a bigger globe will open up and you'll see the Topic “Pick Custom Location”.

Here you can now choose your start point by clicking on a location on the globe, choose a climate zone by this and hit afterwards “done” or “back” to choose now more advanced and detailed settings for your world. This includes the length of the days, the size of the land, the amount of islands, the hight of the mountains and the terrain type. When you are done choosing everything you can name your map in the first line. Afterwards you can click on “generate” and the editor will now load your map.
To the right of your screen you'll see in the editor all the items you can use. By clicking on one you will have it on your cursor and can drop it in the map by left clicking on any spot on the ground.

To the left upper side you'll see your spawn point. You can remove that one by clicking on it and choosing "cut" from the menu that opens. Then you can choose any new spot and get a new spawn point at the objects to the right side of your screen if you click on "Show game logic objects"!
With H you can turn all objects..



On top of the editor you'll see the following menu:
File Game View Configure

On top to the right side of Configure and a bit underneath the menu headlines you'll find a symbol with a sloped hill and a pickaxe, if you hover with your cursor over it it will say "Terraform",

with this tool you can create hills and valleys by using the sub-menu that will pop up, underneath the word “View” in the headline you'll find a symbol that says “add” and another one next to it that says “remove”, the symbols are a hill with a Plus sign and a pit with a Minus sign.

Next to those two buttons and symbols you'll find Flatten, Smooth for a softer flattening and Paint Terrain type which will allow you to paint the ground.
Metals can be found at the pickaxe symbols at the "Terraform" symbol to the right upper side. Here you are also going to find all other kinds of ground like sand, soil and so on.
Take the octahedron to create surfaces in the air, the cube symbol to create flat areas on the ground, the cylinder symbol for hills and the ball symbol might be useful to create not completely flat water areas. With the pipette you can duplicate objects like for example plants by clicking on them and place them afterwards with a left click on any spot.
To explore and look up every view and angle you can press O on your keyboard to fly and a second time to land back on the ground.
To the left side underneath the word "View" you will find some tools to move objects and turn them.
The big Plus symbol with arrows to all sides is a Movement Widget, you can move any object to any side with it, the circular arrow is the Rotation Widget to turn objects. There are also two arrows to the very left to withdraw and redo what you did last.
To the very right side of your menu you'll see a brush that you can also use to copy colours and duplicate them, you got there several possibilities how to use that brush:
You got the Brush, the ColourPicker and the Eraser as a sub-menu to the brush.
Next to that are 3 colour slots with main colour, subcolour and a third subordinated colour that you can choose. Play around with the possibilities to find out how to use that tool best.
If you want to go back to the play mode of the game you can go on "File" and save your map at "Save", then hit the button to the bottom of your editor window that says "Play".Then this map you just created will load as game map. If you now press ESC on the keyboard The normal Start menu will open up but you'll have a few more options downwards by an extra menu that will pop up:

Deutsche Version/ German Version

Dieser Guide wird auf Englisch und Deutsch erscheinen, wie üblich werde ich auch diesen Guide immer updaten und stetig Informationen hinzufügen solange das Spiel weiter entwickelt wird. Da das Spiel Menü bisher noch nur auf englisch ist, werde ich die schwierigeren Begriffe in Klammern auf englisch mit anführen, damit ihr eine Chance habt alles zu verstehen und finden. Dies war auch der Grund für die deutsche Übersetzung, um Leuten zu helfen, die nicht so gut Englisch sprechen.

Falls deine Steuerung auf Gamepad eingestellt ist:

-Am oberen rechten Eck deines Bildschirms ist der “Einstellungen” Knopf (visual, audio and gamesettings) wähle dann im nächsten Menü “Steuerung” (controls), dann wähle Maus und Tastatur von der aktiven Regler Liste.

Es kann sinnvoll sein deine Lautstärke etwas zu reduzieren, wobei SFX Volumen für die Umgebungsgeräusche steht, die etwas zu laut sein können. Unter Video findest du die Graphikeinstellungen. Wenn dein Spiel von zu viel Lag gestört wird, kann es sinnvoll sein die Einstellungen bei der Grafik etwas herunter zu setzen.

Oben rechts befindet sich auch der Knopf um in den Shop des Spieles zu gelangen, der eine Menge schöner Sachen hat, die aber für das Spiel nicht nötig sind.


Spielwahl:

Es gibt 3 verschiedene Spielversionen:
1) Den Exploremode, der eine Karte mit Inseln mit teilweise feindlichen Tieren zum Erkunden bereit hält.
2) Den Creativemode, der dir freies und friedliches Bauen und das Aussuchen einer bestimmten klimatischen Region, sowie der Landgröße ermöglicht.
3) Den Mehrspieler oder auch CO-OP Mode, der dir das Öffnen eines kleinen Servers mit bis zu 8 Plätzen erlaubt.

Wähle “Neues Spiel” → Spielen → Erstelle jetzt deinen Charakter → Vergiß nicht danach: Gib deiner Welt einen eigenen Namen.
Andere Spieler werden im Falle, daß sie mitspielen wollen im Mehrspieler Menü nach dem Namen deiner Welt suchen müssen, versuche dir darum etwas Originelles auszusuchen.

Nach dem Einloggen in den Multiplayer wird sich automatisch ein Menü öffnen, in dem du die Einstellungen deines Multiplay oder CO-OP Servers festlegen kannst.

Setze dein Spiel dann für andere auf “für alle sichtbar”. Setze eine Anzahl der Spieler fest. Gib ein Passwort unter passphrase an. Setze nun dein Spiel beim letzten Einstellungspunkt auf Teilnahme erlaubt und dann klicke unten auf publish.

Der Kreative Modus läßt dich unter den advanced settings unter anderem auch die Tageslänge, die Anzahl der Inseln (land count), die Art der Bodenbeschaffenheit (terrain type) und den Startpunkt (spawn location) festlegen. Zudem erhaltet ihr alle derzeit existierenden Objekte im “creator cube”(im Inventar) und im Handwerksmenü sofort freigeschaltet und könnt diese ohne Materialien zu sammeln und sie herzustellen direkt in einen der Schnellleiste Plätze ziehen und endlos verbauen. Feinde werden euch außerdem auch dann nicht angreifen, wenn ihr sie attackiert. Ihr habt zudem endlose Gesundheit und könnt nicht sterben.

Offizielle Server:

Warnung: Derzeit überschwemmt von zerstörerischen Spielern und Lag.

Gehe zur Mehrspieler Schaltfläche deines Hauptmenüs und betrete einen der Server mit der Bezeichnung Offiziell vor dem Servernamen. Um bestimmte Servernamen zu finden, kannst du die Such Funktion nutzen.

Einem Spiel eines Freundes beitreten:

Klicke auf den Mehrspieler Knopf im Hauptmenü. Unterhalb des Wortes “Welt Namen” befindet sich eine Suchfunktion. Gib dort den Namen des Servers ein, wenn du danach den Namen wieder löschst und erneut auf “Welt Namen”(world name) klickst, erscheint wieder die Serverliste oder scrolle/ blättere durch die Serverliste.

Solltest du den Server deines Freundes nicht finden könnte er entweder vergessen haben den Server sichtbar zu machen oder auch von Übersee sein und sich somit nicht in deiner Region befinden.
Versuche unter der “In meiner Region” (my region only) Option neu auszuwählen indem du dort den Haken entfernst, wenn du mit einem Freund aus einer anderen Zeitzone spielen willst.

Ein Sigleplayer Spiel in ein Multiplay Spiel ändern:

Wenn du eine Singleplayer Karte in eine Mehrspieler Karte ändern willst, weil ein Freund gerne mitspielen möchte, mußt du nur das Spiel fortsetzen, dich also einloggen, dann auf esc gehen um das Menuim Spiel zu öffnen, dort findest du eine Schrift "Multiplayer", dort stellst du dann die Spielekonfiguration für das Mehrspieler Spiel ein und eventuell mußt du erst das Spiel veröffentlichen, bevor du den Beitritt zum Spiel auch aktivieren kannst, was bedeutet, daß du eventuell das Menu 2 mal öffnen mußt um alles einzustellen.

Wenn du dein Spiel startest wirst du am unteren Bildschirmrand eine Schnellleiste sehen.
Links ist deine blanke Hand zu sehen, die du zum sammeln benutzt. Bitte behalte im Gedächtnis, daß du die Hand immer auch beim Einsammeln von Loot aktivieren mußt, sonst kann dein Loot zerstört werden, falls du ein Werkzeug in deiner Hand hältst und darauf haust. Links oben hast du deine Lebensleiste mit fünf Herzen. Hunger und Kälte wird deine Gesundheit langsam vermindern Tiere können durch einen einzigen Hieb schneller mehr Schaden anrichten.

Es gibt noch eine weitere Möglichkeit sich kreative in Ylands zu betätigen. Die Entwickler haben auch einen Editor beigefügt, den man dazu benutzen kann neue Karten zu erstellen oder etwas in bereits bestehenden Scenarios zu verändern. Sei dir dessen bewußt, daß Pflanzen und Gegenstände auf der Landoberfläche jedoch nicht mit dem Absenken des Untergrunds mit nach unten wandern, sondern du sie dann eventuell extra entfernen oder einzeln versetzen mußt. Wenn du den Editor benutzen möchtest, findest du ihn im Startmenü des Spiels als untersten Punkt links.
Solltest du eine bereits bestehende Karte bearbeiten wollen auf der du schon gebaut oder anderweitig gespielt hast, kannst du diese Karte unter Datei ( file) oben im Editormenü ganz links öffnen. Gehe auf File → Open → es öffnet sich ein Fenster “select scenario to edit” gehe dort unten am Fenster auf “games” → klicke hier auf den Namen deines Spiels und danach auf open rechts unten in diesem Fenster. (Ein ausführlicheres Tutorial zum Editor ist weiter unten im Guide)

Benutzung von Gegenständen

Lege den Gegenstand in deine Schnelleiste, Linksklick wird dich ihn benutzen lassen nachdem du ihn per Zahl oder darauf klicken aktiviert hast und in deiner Hand hältst.
Es gibt einige Gegenstände, die du nicht ohne Weiteres plazieren kannst, bei diesen mußt du das Frei Plazieren Menü öffnen, indem du den Gegenstand in deine Schnellleiste ziehst, ihn anklickst und damit aktivierst und anschließend E auf der Tastatur drückst, um dann “Frei plazieren” auszuwählen. Nun kannst du den Gegenstand abstellen und anschließend auch wieder einsammeln. Du kannst normalerweise alle Dinge, die du gebaut hast ca. 2 Minuten lang wieder einsammeln.
Bäume müssen nach dem Fällen noch kleiner zerhackt oder gesägt werden, um die verschiedenen Materialien wie Baumstämme, Kleinholz und Harz anschließend einsammeln zu können.
Mit dem Harz kann man Fackeln bauen.
Mit den Holzstücken, die auch dabei zu Boden fallen kann man Öfen befeuern oder auch Lagerfeuer bauen. Man muß sie zum Befeuern in einen Schnellleistenplatz ziehen und per linksklick dem Ofen oder bereits bestehenden Lagerfeuer hinzufügen. Danach muß man mit einem Feuersteinanzünder noch das Feuer entzünden.
Den Anzünder stellt man aus zwei Feuersteinen im Handwerksmenü im Inventar her. Du kannst auch Tab drücken um dieses Menü zu öffnen.
Um Gegenstände zu plazieren, die du gerade angefertigt hast kannst du das Menu rechts in deinem Bildschirm benutzen um sie zu drehen und/oder per Rechtsklick mit der Maus oder indem du deine Schnelleiste auswählst werden sie von deinem Mauszeiger (curser) verschwinden.
Rotiere Gegenstände mit den Tasten J, K oder L auf deiner Tastatur. Halte ctrl + WASD um Objekte zu bewegen.

Im Handwerksmenü darf man nicht übersehen, daß zum Beispiel der Webstuhl 3 verschiedene Garnrollen zum anklicken und auswählen anbietet. Klickt mal auf jede Einzelne zur Herstellung eines Fadens und ihr werdet sehen, daß ihr dadurch das Material aus dem ihr einen Faden herstellen könnt auswählt. Gleiches gilt für Leder und einige andere Dinge. Ich habe eine Weile gebraucht um zu begreifen, daß ich jedes Fell zur Herstellung von Leder benutzen kann, darum erwähne ich dies. Auch der Blasebalg muß nicht aus Leder gefertigt werden, das Baumenu bietet auch Stoff als Material an für die Pazifisten oder Angsthasen unter euch.
Um Handwerksrezepte frei zu schalten genügt es alle Materialien einmal eingesammelt zu haben, du mußt sie danach nicht dauernd mit dir herum schleppen. Möglicherweise müßt ihr zuerst eine Säge herstellen und Baumstämme zersägen und Dinge daraus herstellen um die Rezepte der Holz Baureihe mit allen Türen, Tischen, Blöcken und Balken freizuschalten.

Das Wichtigste: Essen!

Das Feuer kann benutzt werden um Essen zu rösten. Dafür brauchen wir Beeren, Melonen, Ananas, aber du kannst auch Kartoffeln, Spinat, Karotten oder anderes Gemüse rösten, Fleisch oder Fisch braten oder Eintopf kochen. Tatsächlich wird das von dir gekochte Essen wesentlich effektiver deinen Hunger stillen und solltest du dieses auch unbedingt mit auf deine Reisen nehmen. Korn kann man im Mörser zerkleinern um Mehl zu gewinnen und Mais wohl nur pur und roh essen. Es gibt ein paar wenige Pflanzen in Ylands, die wieder wachsen und dich konstant mit ihrer Ernte beliefern, Sisal Agave (wächst in der Wüste) wird zum Stoff machen benutzt, der Bananen Baum (wächst auf tropischen Inseln) wird dich immer mit Bananen beliefern, Arctic Willow (wächst in der Tundra) und wird anstelle von Aloe Vera für alles sofort heilende Bandagen verwendet.

Kleidung:

Und dann noch etwas zum Thema Kleidung, du kannst anfangs etwas Kleidung aus Grass und Schnur herstellen, es sei denn du magst die chice Unterwäsche und stehst im Zweifelsfall lieber in der Kälte. Natürlich hängt es auch davon ab in welchem Klima ihr am Anfang landet, ein nördlicheres Klima wird euch eher frieren lassen, als eine Wüste oder die Tropen.
Es gibt jede Menge Skins im Itemshop des Spiels, aber es gibt auch einige gratis im Spiel. Dazu mußt du dann Flax oder Baumwolle sammeln und erst Faden und dann Stoff herstellen. Ich persönlich habe es allerdings vorgezogen zuerst das Segeltuch für mein Schiff zu erstellen, daß bei einem großen Mast stolze 10 Tücher benötigt. Damit war dann auch der Vorrat an Baumwoll Recourcen auf meiner Insel fast erschöpft da ich mehrere davon gebaut habe, darum lieber ein paar Pflanzen im Inventar zerkleinern (break down), wird dir angeboten, wenn du auf die Baumwolle im Inventar klickst, denn so erhältst du Samen um die Pflanze wieder anzupflanzen. Sie wächst in wenigen Tagen (2-3). Im Übrigen ein wichtiger Tip, wenn ihr in der glücklichen Lage seid eine Wüsteninsel gefunden zu haben werdet ihr begeistert von den Sisal Pflanzen dort sein, nehmt unbedingt ein paar mit für Saatgut, denn sie müssen nur einmal gepflanzt werden und werden euch kontinuierlich mit Blättern beliefern aus denen Ihr Faden und Stoff herstellen könnt.

Höhlenforschung:

Solltet ihr beschließen in eine Höhle zu gehen würde ich euch den Rat geben euch mit Nahrung, jeder Menge Lichtquellen( oder trage einen Mienenarbeiter Helm/ Miner Helmet) und möglicherweise Wegweisern und Medizin auszurüsten, es sei denn ihr habt Spaß daran euch verzweifelt aus dem endlosen Höhlensystem herauszugraben nachdem ihr euch heillos verirrt habt. In Höhlen, aber manchmal auch unter Wasser und in speziellen Gebäuden und Truhen auf Inseln gibt es Geheimnisse und einige Materialien zu entdecken, die man sonst schwerer findet, aber es gibt auch mutierte Tiere, die dann auch Ylandian Staub fallen lassen können. Warnung: Der Fallschaden in Höhlen kann tötlich sein!

Wettereffekte

Stürme können wild sein in diesem Spiel. Es gibt normalen Regen und Nebel und Schneefall, der deine Sicht begrenzen kann, aber keinen so großen Einfluß hat, aber es gibt auch viele Stürme, die dir die Sicht nehmen und das Wasser sehr aufwühlen und Fackeln im Freien werden eventuell ausgelöscht. Aus diesem Grund ist Segeln nicht so spaßig bei schlechtem Wetter. Bereite dich darauf vor indem du ein überdachtes Bett auf deinem Schiff baust um diese Zeiten zu überspringen, oder indem du Werkbänke baust um dich während dieser Zeiten mit handwerken zu beschäftigen. Behalte auch im Kopf, daß du in kälteren Regionen anfängst zu fieren, wenn das Wetter sich verschlechtert, was dich zwingen könnte die Region schnell zu verlassen, falls du keine wärmende Kleidung dabei hast.

Tiere zähmen:

Man kann Pferde mit Grass oder Obst zähmen, dazu muß man das Futter in einen Schnelleisten Platz ziehen und activieren indem man ihn anklickt. Danach kann man das Tier füttern. Zuerst wird er freundlich werden, dann wird das Spiel dir anbieten ihm einen Namen zu geben. Rechtsklicke es um es zu besteigen oder abzusteigen. Wenn du auf E auf deiner Tastatur drückst, kannst du dein Pferd herbei pfeifen.

Ein Kommando um dich zu befreien wenn du irgendwo feststeckst:
Wenn du “/unstuck 0” oder “/unstuck 1-3” benutzt während du auf einen Boot oder Schiff bist, kann es passieren, daß du dich auf irgendeiner Insel wiederfindest.

First/Third person view and local Chat:

Wechseln zwischen Erster/Dritter (first/third person view) Person: Drücke C auf der Tastatur.
Lokaler Chat scheint nur in Hörreichweite zu funktionieren.

Einbruch der Nacht

Wenn du im Singleplayer spielst kannst du die Nächte einfach durch ein Bett überspringen indem du schläfst. Wenn du gerade erst mit dem Spiel beginnst kann es eine gute Idee sein dir eine Mini Höhle zu graben und das Bett dort zu plazieren, da dir das Spiel bei Regen nicht gestattet im Freien zu schlafen. Im Multiplay sieht das anders aus, dort kann man offenbar überhaupt nicht Schlafen was Segeln in der Nacht und bei schlechtem Wetter vereitelt, da es dort nicht hilft sich auf dem Schiff einen Unterschlupf für sein Bett zu bauen.

Wichtige Spielgrundlagen 2

Materialien wie Metalle finden:

Metall, Feuerstein und auch Lehm, Sulfur und Salpeter sind nicht etwa in Höhlen zu finden. Außer Gold kann man diese Materialien normalerweise alle irgendwo in Bergnähe am Boden finden. Sie haben unterschiedliche Farben. Kupfer is rötlich, Eisen sieht aus wie Silber, Lehm hat die Farbe von beige tropischem Sand, Feuerstein ist weißlich, Kohle schwarz. Nach kurzer Zeit werdet ihr die andersfarbigen Stellen am Boden von Weitem erkennen und unterscheiden lernen.

Unterwasser Tauchausrüstung:

Man kann mit Gummi Tauchausrüstung wie zum Beispiel Schwimmflossen herstellen. Rohen Gummi bekommt man auf tropischen Inseln vom Gummibaum indem man ihn mit einem Messer erntet. Der Baum braucht danach eine Weile Ruhepause bis man ihn wieder abernten kann. Übrigens braucht ihr Gummi auch zum Bauen von Autos, Gummi und Sulfur um exakter zu sein. Sulfur und Sandstein scheint man am leichtesten auf Wüsten Inseln zu finden. Harz kann auf die selbe Weise von anderen Bäumen gewonnen werden.

Das Herstellen von Waffen und Werkzeugen

Drücke Tab um dein Handwerks Menü zu öffnen oder gehe in deinem Inventar auf die Herstellungsseite. Dinge die rot markiert sind können nicht hergestellt werden. Wieviele du von einer Sache herstellen kannst wird unten im jeweiligen Feld rechts angezeigt. Um etwas herzustellen kannst du auf den Gegenstand rechts Klicken oder unten links den “Herstellen” Knopf anklicken. Die Materialien, die du bei der Herstellung verbrauchst und die du gewinnst siehst du unten rechts. Die wichtigsten Werkzeuge sind Messer und Hammer, am besten trägt man sie immer, wenn man etwas herstellt. Das Messer kann auch genutzt werden um Harz von Bäumen zu sammeln.

Kämpfen, Sterben und Wiederbeleben:

Der erste Feind den du zu Gesicht bekommst wird dich vielleicht überraschen und du wirst vermutlich reflexartig versuchen davon zu laufen. Mein Rat: Tu das nicht, kämpfe!
Vertrau mir ich bin selber der größte Feigling, in diesem einen Fall bin ich typisch Frau, obwohl ich sonst eher wie Männer reagiere. Ich bin ein Angsthase, ein Weichei und ein Schlappschwanz was das anbetrifft, wie auch immer du es nennen willst, aber wenn ich einen Feind sehe bin ich weg, so schnell ich nur kann :D zumindest bis ich weiß wie stark er, sie, es ist und ob meine Waffe gut genug ist, um ihn umzulegen. Ich habe in Überlebensspielen gelernt und ich liebe diese Spiele, daß ich am Anfang schleichen oder weglaufen sollte, je nach Situation natürlich. Ich meine, wenn man in ARK neben einem T-Rex am Strand spawned, dann hat man keinerlei Chance zu entkommen, aber abgesehen von diesem einen sehr unglücklichen Zufall kann man eine Menge Ärger vermeiden, wenn man sich erst einmal vorsichtig einen etwas erhöhten Punkt sucht und umsieht.
Also behalte im Hinterkopf erst einmal keinen unnötigen Schritt zu machen, bevor du dir nicht zumindest ein Stein Messer gebaut hast, da jedes bißchen hilft, falls du in einen Feind hinein läufst und dann versuche einen etwas erhöhten Platz zu erreichen um dich umzusehen. Als nächstes muß man verstehen, daß man so zielen muß, daß man nicht die Pflanzen oder Steine um einen herum trifft, sondern der Name des Tieres erscheint während man es bekämpft oder man am Besten zu einem leeren Platz geht (alternativ alles am Boden entfernt, wenn man die Zeit hat) und es dort hin lockt.
In dem Falle, daß du dennoch unglücklich überrascht wirst von einem Feind und ihn nicht töten konntest, wirst du alle deine Sachen auf genau dieser Stelle an der du stirbst ablegen und das Spiel wird dich fragen, ob du einen neuen Character erstellen willst. Keine Sorge du kannst das nun tun und wirst wahrscheinlich auf der selben Insel, vermutlich sogar am selben Spawn Punkt wieder auferstehen. Nun kannst du dir Zeit lassen deine Sachen zurück zu bekommen.
Das Tier, daß dich eben getötet hat wird vermutlich noch immer an der selben Stelle sitzen und deine Sachen bewachen, aber zum Glück bewegen sich die Tiere nach kurzer Zeit weg oder stecken selbst an der Stelle so fest, daß sie dich im best möglichen Fall nicht einmal angreifen werden, wenn du dort hin gehst. Sei schlau und mache dir erst einmal eine neue Waffe bevor du das ausprobierst und dich am Ende selbst umbringst :D
oder warte einfach, ob der Feind sich weg bewegt, du kannst sogar eine Nacht darüber schlafen, deine Sachen werden immer noch dort sein, keine Sorge!
Nun laßt uns über den weitaus ungünstigeren Fall sprechen, daß du auf dem Meer stirbst, im besten Fall auf einer anderen Insel, in einem weniger idealen Fall auf deinem Schiff oder sogar unter Wasser.
Eine schnelle Erste Hilfe Maßnahme wäre dann im Editor ein neues Schiff zu erstellen oder alternativ die Materialien dafür im Editor zurecht zu legen und dann in dein Spiel zurück zu gehen um dir schnell ein neues Schiff zu bauen. Eine Liste der Materialien wirst du in meinem Kapitel über "Schiffe und Segeln" finden.
Wenn du es nicht magst so zu cheaten, kannst du dir einfach ein kleines Boot bauen und versuchen dort hin zurück zu kommen, wo du gestorben bist.
Ich habe kürzlich gelesen, daß die Entwickler versucht haben das Problem zu beheben, daß man meist nicht dort spawned wo man gestorben ist, leider hat das für mich jedoch nicht immer geklappt, also bereitet euch innerlich darauf vor, daß es schief gehen kann.
Also wenn ich euch darum einen guten Rat geben darf, würde ich empfehlen euer Haus auf der Startinsel zu bauen, weil ihr derzeit ohnehin meist dort wieder belebt werdet.
Und noch etwas: Wenn ihr eure Sachen nicht bei eurem Grabstein finden könnt, dann sind sie wahrscheinlich über oder unter ihm, ich fand meine zum Beispiel einmal auf dem Dach meines Hauses, als ich im Haus starb.

Stauraum und Inventar Erweiterungen

Inventarplätz Erweiterung:

OH mein Gott, Inventar voll, immer das selbe Lied, aberYlands gibt uns ein paar Gegenstände die den Raum in Inventar erweitern. Sollte man diese Gegenstände auf den Boden abstellen haben sietatsächlich weniger Plätze als wenn man sie im Inventar behält. Zuerst wäre da die Saatbox zu nennen, ein klick auf die box öffnet sie, ein klick auf die Punkte oben links schließt sie und läßt dich in dein Inventar zurück kehren. Sie ist selbstverständlich nur für Saatgut. Dann wäre da der Kohlenpott, ich gehe mal nicht näher auf seinen Sinn und Zweck ein ;)
Der Kräuter Beutel wäre auch noch zu nennen in diesem Zusammenhang. Genauso der Tränke Gürtel, das Muschel Glas, das Pigment Glas, die Schlüssel Kette und der Erd Container.

Stauraum:

Auch superwichtig wie ich finde, denn schließlich muß man ja irgendwo hin mit all dem Krempel. Hier ist er der ultimative Behälterguide:

Das Schiff und Inseln suchen

Das Floss kann eventuell Sinken, jedenfalls ist es keinesfalls gut um in gerader Linie von A nach B zu gelangen. Das kleine Boot ist nett aber hat den Nachteil, daß man rein gar nichts darauf bauen kann, die Wahl der ersten Stunde ist also die kleine Version des Schiffs. Hier kann man dann auch nach Herzenslust Masten aufstellen, denn mit jedem weiteren Mast erhöht sich die Geschwindigkeit dieses Gefährts. Man sollte allerdings vor dem installieren des Masts den besagten fern von sich halten um zu sehen wie herum das Segel sein sollte, da man das sonst sehr schnell falsch herum plazieren kann. Ich empfehle das Steuer nach vorne zu setzen und ein überdachtes Bett hinter sich, da dies ein schnelles Nacht und Mistwetter überspringen ermöglicht und eine freie Sicht garantiert.
Erwähnenswert ist vielleicht noch, daß keiner der Bäume die massiven Baumstämme fallen läßt, die man zum Mastbau benötigt, man muß sie im Handwerksmenü selber zusammenbauen. Wenn ihr tatsächlich dennoch den Mast falsch herum gesetzt habt geht in den Editor, ladet euer Spiel dort, sucht eur Schiff auf der Karte eurer Insel und dreht ihn einfach herum ;) Das Praktische ist, daß der Editor euch scheinbar normalerweise auf eurer Startinsel lädt.
Vergeßt keinesfalls eine Karte herzustellen, bevor ihr los segelt! Eine Angel könnte auch nützlich sein. Übrigens las ich, daß Licht aggressive Tiere fernhält, man sollte also Laternen auf seinem Schiff aufstellen, wo man normalerweise auf das Schiff springt. Das Schiff fährt von alleine sobald ihr die Segel herunter gelassen habt.
Wenn ihr wie ich einmal unter der Fahrt von eurem Schiff fallt weil euer Spiel abstürzt werdet ihr es vermutlich nicht mehr einholen. Ich hatte ein Schiff mit 7 großen Masten als mir das passierte, weil das Schiff so schnell segelt und das Reisen angenehmer macht ( übrigens strandet man mit so viel Power auch eher selten auf Sandbänken), aber eines Tages starb ich indem ich auf hoher See in der Nähe eines Hais ins Wasser fiel. Das Spiel wird dich dann vermutlich auf der nahegelegensten Insel wieder auferstehen lassen. Sei schlau und logge dich sofort danach für eine Sekunde aus dem Spiel aus, damit dein Schiff nicht weiter fährt. Ich weiß, daß dies die Segel dann sofort hochzieht und ich habe keine Ahnung, ob das auch geschieht, wenn du nur außer Sichtweite gerätst. Ich habe mir dann schnell ein Floß gebaut und habe mein Schiff schnell gefunden, da ich durch die Karte ungefähr wußte wo ich gestorben bin. Vergiß deine Sachen im Wasser, der Hai würde dich nur erneut töten.
Weil ich schon mehrfach unter meinem Schiff festgesteckt bin als ich Sand beseitigt habe, der es hat stranden lassen, gebe ich euch den Rat auf die Schiff Oberseite zu zielen, oder auf die Leiter, oder Das Steuerrad und zu rechtsklicken um euch zu befreien, wenn das nicht hilft könnt ihr das /unstuck Kommando benutzen. Solltet ihr euer Schiff demoliert haben, könnt ihr folgendes tun: Öffne den Editor, öffne deine Spielkarte, doppelklicke auf dein Schiff und setze die Haltbarkeit/Lebenspunkte des Schiffes zurück auf 16000.
Übrigens ein Tip, falls Haie euer Schiff belagern und ihr noch keinen Steg habt, lockt die Haie ans Ufer, stellt euch dann ruhig in sie, dort könnt ihr sie mit irgendeiner Waffe in aller Ruhe töten, denn sie beißen nur wenn sie im Wasser sind. Oder du baust ein Floß um zu deinem Schiff zu gelangen.
Haltet Ausschau nach Vögeln um Inseln zu finden und sucht im Umkreis von hellen Flecken im Wasser nach Inseln. Es gibt normalerweise 8-12 (15 ist das Maximum auf den selbst erstellten Karten) Inseln auf einer Karte und es scheint pures Glück zu sein sie zu finden. Es kann hilfreich sein die eigene Insel nach Möven abzusuchen, da diese in gerader Linie zwischen den Inseln hin und her fliegen können.

Handwerksbänke und Brennöfen

Die Handwerksrezepte werden sichtbar durch die Materialien, die du bei dir trägst und die dafür nötig wären die Gegenstände herzustellen, aber auch das Bauen von Werkbänken und Brennöfen schaltet Rezepte frei. Per Rechtsklick kann man das Inventar der Werkbänke und Öfen öffnen.

Die wichtigsten Werkzeuge bzw. Handwerksbänke und Brennöfen:

Messer und Hammer
Beide essenziell zur Herstellung

Ledergerber Gestell (Tanning Rack):
Die Ledergerberstation erlaubt es euch Tierfelle in Leder zu verwandeln.
Um sie zu bauen braucht ihr 6 Stäbe und 2x Schnur. Das Leder ist für einige Rezepte nützlich, wie zum Beispiel Rüstung und Blasebalg.

Spinnrad (Spinning Wheel):

Das Spinnrad, das Flax oder Baumwolle oder Sisal in Faden verwandelt. Um es zu bauen brauchst du 6 Stäbe und 2x Schnur. Für jede Fadenrolle brauchst du 3 Pflanzen.

Anmerkung: Wenn du Nähzeug herstellst denke daran, daß das Nähzeug eine Haltbarkeit hat und nicht immer ein einmalig benutzbarer Gegenstand ist.

Stoffweberei (Weaving Loom):

Diese Werkbank ist die Weberei. Du brauchst 6 Stäbe und 2 Schüre um sie zu bauen. Für jeden Stoff brauchst du dann 3 Fäden.

Schmelzofen (Furnace):
Der Schmelzofen wird mit Kohle betrieben und gestattet dir Barren von Metall herzustellen. Du benötigst ein einzelnes Stück Kohle um ihn zu befeuern, welches in deiner Schnellleiste liegen und aktiviert sein muß. Dann kannst du es dem Ofen per längerem Linksklick hinzufügen. Danach mußt du einen Anzünder auf die gleiche Weise benutzen.
Man baut ihn mit 15 Lehm.

Schmiede (Blacksmith):
Die Schmiede erfordert Gegenstände, die du vorab erstellen mußt um sie zu bauen (Blasebalg und Ambross).
Du benötigst ein einzelnes Stück Kohle um ihn zu befeuern, welches in deiner Schnellleiste liegen und aktiviert sein muß. Danach mußt du einen Anzünder auf die gleiche Weise benutzen.
20 Lehm + 1 Ambross + 1 Blasebalg + Benutzung des Hammers

Brennofen (Kiln):
Der Brennofen, er schaltet Rezepte frei um Sand oder Lehm zu Glass, Fenster und Bausteinen zu brennen. Er wird mit 15 Lehm hergestellt.
Du benötigst ein einzelnes Stück Kohle um ihn zu befeuern, welches in deiner Schnellleiste liegen und aktiviert sein muß. Danach mußt du einen Anzünder auf die gleiche Weise benutzen.

Papierpresse:

Die Papierpresse ist ein Gerät, daß man vermutlich nur ein einziges Mal nutzen wird um eine Karte herzustellen, Diese ist jedoch nötig um später noch zu wissen, wo man bereits hingesegelt ist. Für die Papierpresse benötigt man 5 Baumstämme + 10 Eisenbarren und Benutzung eines Hammers. Zur Herstellung von Papier muß man zuerst an einem Lagerfeuer oder Ofen (stove) Zellstoff (wood pulp, sieht aus wie ein Häufchen Sperrholz) herstellen.

Färbestand:

Der Farbstand benötigt 5x Rohes Glass und 5x Eisenbarren unter Bearbeitung mit dem Hammer. Man kann in ihm einen Gegenstand umfärben, wenn man Pigmete hergestellt hat.


Alchemietisch:
Der Alchemietisch ist für die Herstellung von Tränken gedacht. Man stellt ihn aus 8 Nägeln, 8 Planken, 1 Glasflasche (glass flask) und durch Benutzung des Hammers her. Im Wald findet man manchmal magische Pflanzen deren Blüten (Magic Blossom) etwas blubbern lassen und diese werden für alle Tränke benutzt. Man findet ihre Pollen (magic dust) auch manchmal in Höhlen und man gewinnt den magischen Staub indem man die Blüten im Mörser zerreibt. Die leuchtenden Höhlenpilze sind übrigens ebenfalls eine Trankzutat. Hier eine Liste der Tränke und ihrer Zutaten:

Es erfordert 10 Planken, 10 Nägel, 3 Stahlstab (steel rod/ wird in der Gießerei angefertigt), 1 Bunsenbrenner (labburner), 5 Glass Flaschen (werden im Brennofen mit rohen Glass erstellt) und das Benutzen eines Hammers um diese Werkbank zu bauen.

Energie Ofen:

3 Energie Spulen (energy coil), 5 Eisenbarren und Benutzung eines Hammers um den Energie Ofen zu erstellen.

Karten Editor

Als kleine Hilfestellung für jene die des Englischen nicht so mächtig sind, aber mächtig Lust haben kreativ tätig zu werden, zum Vergrößern der Bilder bitte auf die Fotos klicken:
Bewegen könnt ihr euch im Editor mit der rechten Maustaste, mit WASD könnt ihr euch auch bewegen, mit dem Mausrad zoomen, mit der linken Maustaste ein Objekt bewegen. Z and Y bewegt deinen blickwinkel runter.
Du kannst Objekte mit den Tasten J,K and L drehen und du kannst sie mit der Taste "entf" auf der Tastatur löschen. Ö wird dein Interface verschwinden lassen.
Links oben bei “Datei” (File) kannst du bereits bestehende Welten öffnen.

Solltest du eine bereits bestehende Karte bearbeiten wollen auf der du schon gebaut oder anderweitig gespielt hast, kannst du diese Karte unter Datei ( file) oben im Editormenü ganz links öffnen. Gehe auf File → Open → es öffnet sich ein Fenster “select scenario to edit” gehe dort unten am Fenster auf “games” → klicke hier auf den Namen deines Spiels und danach auf "Open" rechts unten in diesem Fenster.

Bei Game kannst du eine ganz neue Welt erstellen, dort gehst du auf “Generate new terrain”
und dort auf “Make new Yland”, dann bekommt ihr ein Fenster mit einem Globus
wenn ihr auf die Weltkugel klickt, öffnet sich ein größerer Globus mit der Überschrift “Pick Custom Location”.

Hier könnt ihr nun euren genauen Startpunkt festlegen, indem ihr auf dem Globus eine klimatische Zone auswählt und danach auf “done” oder “back” klicken um noch weitere Feineinstellungen für die Welt einzugeben. Dazu gehören Tageslänge, Landgröße, Inselanzahl, Landhöhe, Bodentyp. Wenn ihr alles ausgesucht habt könnt ihr der Karte noch euren eigenen Namen geben. Danach klickst du auf “generate” wodurch der Editor eine Karte lädt.
Rechts im Bild seht ihr die ganzen Gegenstände, die ihr verbauen könnt. Durch Anklicken könnt ihr sie plazieren.

Oben links seht ihr euren Spawnpunkt, den ihr entfernen könnt indem ihr ihn anklickt und in dem Dropdown Menü auf "Cut" geht.
Oben rechts unter Objects unter “Show Game Logic Objects” könnt ihr dann einen eigenen Spawnpunkt erstellen, diesen könnt ihr wie ein Objekt anklicken und auf eurer Insel nach Belieben plazieren.
Mit H könnt ihr alle Objekte drehen.



Oben seht ihr ein Menü:

Oben rechts von Configure und etwas unterhalb in der Menüleiste werdet ihr ein Symbol eines schrägen Hügels und einer Spitzhacke ( Terraform) finden,

wenn ihr dieses Symbol anklickt könnt ihr auf dem Gelände Hügel oder Täler erstellen, indem ihr im Untermenü, daß sich sogleich öffnen wird, unter dem Wort View “add” (hinzufügen) oder “remove”(entfernen) anklickt, die Symbole dafür haben einen Hügel mit Plus Zeichen und eine Grube mit Minus Zeichen.

Daneben befindet sich das Flatten (begradigen, planieren) Symbol, daneben Smoothen (sanft glätten) und Paint Terrain type bei dem ihr den Boden bemalen könnt.
Metalle könnt ihr bei dem Spitzhacke Symbolen unter Terraform finden und verteilen. Hier findet ihr auch alle anderen Boden Typen.
Nehmt das Oktereder (Octahedron) um Flächen in der Luft zu erstellen. Das Würfelsymbol zum Erstellen von Flächen am Boden. Das Zylindersymbol ist praktisch für Hügel. Das Kugelsymbol scheint für das Plazieren von Wasser geeignet zu sein, wenn man keine ganz glatte Oberfläche wünscht. Mit dem Pipetten Tool ganz rechts kann man Objekte, wie zum Beispiel Pflanzen ganz einfach durch anklicken duplizieren und dann plazieren.
Um im Editor alle Blickwinkel zu erkunden könnt ihr O drücken um zu fliegen und nochmal O um wieder zurück auf dem Boden zu landen.
Links unter dem Wort View findet Ihr ein paar Werkzeuge um Dinge zu bewegen oder drehen.
Das große Pluszeichen mit Pfeilen (Movement Widget) in alle Richtungen ist zum Verschieben eines Objektes, der Kreisrunde Pfeil (Rotation Widget) zum drehen. Es gibt auch zwei Pfeiltasten ganz links um Sachen wieder rückgängig zu machen.
Ganz rechts ist im Menü ist ein Pinsel mit dem man Farben auch kopieren und duplizieren kann, man hat dort verschiedene Möglichkeiten:
Es gibt hier den Pinsel (Brush) Farbkopierer (ColourPicker) Radierer (Eraser).
Daneben sind noch drei Farbfelder in denen man Hauptfarbe, Sekundärfarbe und eine Dritte untergeordnete Farbe wählen kann. Spiele mal mit den Möglichkeiten um herauszufinden, wie man das einsetzen kann.
Wenn man zurück in den Spielmodus möchte drückt ihr oben links unter dem File Menü auf Save
und dann rechts unten auf Play. Dann lädt er die Karte als Spielewelt. Wenn man nun auf ESC klickt erscheint ein normales Hauptmenü, aber unterhalb ist ein Extra Menü:

Guide is great but a bit outdated Are there any resources that tell how to find recipes? I would kill for the seed box thing. I've started playing with my sun and wife and am struggling to find Some basic(ish) recipes. I bet it is all obvious, but I think I am missing something. Thanks!

This is an amazing guide, well done, Luna. I can see a lot of work behind it.
I have a question. How do I unlock a better hand drill? I have 135 hrs in this game and yet I only have a recipe for the basic one. It's pretty much the only thing I am missing.

Okay. Da steht es wird bearbeitet:
"Dieser Guide wird auf Englisch und Deutsch erscheinen, wie üblich werde ich auch diesen Guide immer updaten und stetig Informationen hinzufügen solange das Spiel weiter entwickelt wird. Da das Spiel Menü bisher noch nur auf englisch ist, werde ich die schwierigeren Begriffe in Klammern auf englisch mit anführen, damit ihr eine Chance habt alles zu verstehen und finden. Dies war auch der Grund für die deutsche Übersetzung, um Leuten zu helfen, die nicht so gut Englisch sprechen."

Da es ja zwischenzeitlich das tolle update 1.7 gibt und 1.8 ja vor der Tür steht war ich etwas irritiert, da mir das hier doch veraltet vorkommt.

Aber trotzdem danke für feedback. Ich muss jetzt ylands spielen gehen. :)
