Achievements

Achievements are special awards you get for meeting certain conditions in the games you play.
Subnautica currently has 17 achievements, which can not be unlocked when using cheats/console commands or playing in creative mode.

This guide contains unmarked spoilers.

Getting Your Feet Wet

Dive for the very first time.
How to obtain: The easiest Achievement to earn, one must simply exit Lifepod 5[subnautica.wikia.com] via the bottom hatch or jump into the water.
Difficulty: Easy.

Settling in for the Long Haul

Build a habitat.
How to obtain: The player has to construct a Seabase module[subnautica.wikia.com], which requires the Habitat Builder[subnautica.wikia.com] to build.
Difficulty: Easy.
Comments: Build a HATCH[subnautica.wikia.com].

Extinction Event Avoided

Repair the Aurora reactor.
How to obtain: The player has to fix the breaches in the Aurora's drive core.
Difficulty: Medium.
Comments: Inside the Drive Room[subnautica.wikia.com] are four large generators (reactors). The generators are covered in breaches, and the Player's objective is to repair them using the Repair Tool[subnautica.wikia.com].

Ancient Technologies

Find the Enforcement Platform.
How to obtain: The player has to reach the Mountain Island[subnautica.wikia.com] and find the Quarantine Enforcement Platform[subnautica.wikia.com].
Difficulty: Medium.
Comments: Going into the Enforcement Platform[subnautica.wikia.com] and get the "Data terminal".
PDA data: Alien Data Terminal.

Personal Propulsion

Build a seamoth.
How to obtain: The player has to build a Seamoth[subnautica.wikia.com].
Difficulty: Medium.
Comments: Some times is buggy try again on a new save...

Ordered the Prawn

Build a prawn suit.
How to obtain: A Prawn Suit[subnautica.wikia.com] must be built in order to obtain this Achievement.
Difficulty: Medium.
Comments: Some times is buggy try again on a new save...

Seaside Living with an Ocean View

Find the Degasi habitat on the floating island.
How to obtain: The player has to discover Degasi Seabase on the Floating Island.
Difficulty: Medium.
Comments: Collect the PDA inside Degasi islandbase IMAGE[vignette.wikia.nocookie.net]
PDA Log: Degasi Voice Log #2 - Storm!

Follow the Degasi

Find the Degasi habitat in the jellyshroom caves.
How to obtain: The player must discover the Degasi Seabase in the Jellyshroom Cave[subnautica.wikia.com].
Difficulty: Medium.
Comments: Collect a PDA in the Degasi habitat[subnautica.wikia.com] .

Seamonsters

Find the Degasi habitat in the deep grand reef.
How to obtain: The player must find the Degasi Seabase in the Deep Grand Reef[subnautica.wikia.com].
Difficulty: Medium.
Comments: Collect the PDA in the habitat [subnautica.wikia.com]room with the Alien Containment.

"Man's Best Friend"

Find and hatch a cutefish egg.
How to obtain: The player must find one of the Cuddlefish Eggs [subnautica.wikia.com]around the world, and hatch it[subnautica.wikia.com].
Difficulty: Medium.
Comments: You need to take the cute/cuddlefish outside and drop it from your inventory.

40-foot Sub For One

Build a cyclops.
How to obtain: The player must construct a Cyclops[subnautica.wikia.com].
Difficulty: Hard.
Comments: Some times is buggy try again on a new save...

Follow the Lost River

Find the Disease Research Facility.
How to obtain: The player has to discover the Disease Research Facility[subnautica.wikia.com] in the Lost River[subnautica.wikia.com].
Difficulty: Hard.
Comments: Going into the destroyed Disease Research Facility[subnautica.wikia.com].

Thermal Activity

Find the Thermal Plant.
How to obtain: The player must discover the Alien Thermal Plant[subnautica.wikia.com] inside the Lava Castle[subnautica.wikia.com].
Difficulty: Hard.
Comments: Trigger zone is just under the building. About 1250 meters below surface.

Fourteen Thousand Leagues Under the Sea

Find the Primary Containment Facility.
How to obtain: The player must find and enter the Primary Containment Facility in the Lava Lakes.
Difficulty: Hard.
Comments: Achieveable - need more info =)

Optimal Health

Cure the infection.
How to obtain: The player must communicate with the Sea Emperor Leviathan[subnautica.wikia.com] and hatch the Sea Emperor Infants[subnautica.wikia.com] in order to obtain Enzyme 42[subnautica.wikia.com].
Difficulty: Hard.
Comments: Cure[subnautica.wikia.com] the infection.

Leave Only Time Capsules

Create and deploy a time capsule.
How to obtain: A Time Capsule [subnautica.wikia.com]must be constructed and left in the world for another player to discover.
Difficulty: Hard.

Go Among the Stars

Launch the neptune rocket.
How to obtain: The player must find the blueprint, and construct the Neptune Escape Rocket,[subnautica.wikia.com] and escape from Planet 4546B[subnautica.wikia.com].
Difficulty: Hard.

just so you know, some of these achievements DO seem to unlock in Creative Mode. The first time i booted the game i went into Creative Mode, built a mobile vehicle bay and built a seamoth and ping, got the achievement.

yep and i have them all

I had to get all 4 of the pda's at that location before the achievement poped. 3 inside the building, 1 outside. The one i missed was the upstairs one, as I didn't realize I could swim up the ladder shafts.
