Holy crap, thanks so much for the Thrash's video! I really do want to participate in the combat challenge, but I kept getting way too angry to solve the pattern.
I play around with the matching color combination of the theme ingredient first and then test the spawn timing of the ingredients. It feels like cracking a code of how to get level 3 gems without level 1 and 2 leftovers. I work with the theme ingredient first to perfect getting level 3 gems only and set them off on the side on the empty counter so I can go with my usual routine of getting those other level 3 color gems. I work with one judge at a time and give the other judge a garbage dish just to speed up the test IF it involves using expertise.
The hardest part is putting it all together for performance. I try not to pause when I record my gameplay. TuT;;
I forgot to mention that I got those times in the challenges without using berserk. In Thrash's challenge levels, the movement speed increase isn't enough to make up for the time spent consuming and transforming. Here's one of my average attempts: https://streamable.com/tlbax
Good luck! Finding the best routes in the combat challenges can be a puzzle in its own right. Speaking of puzzles, my favorite part of participating in the dailies is trying to figure out what both you and Seneque do to get the maximum score (though sometimes I'm satisfied with just coming close).
I actually kill them when they're falling off the cliff after I give them some fruit. It is a nice feeling to see explosion happen and it lands closer to the entrance :)
Thanks for the tip on Thrash's moves! I do try berserk to be more speedy, but I get so frustrated with his controls that I just let him sit in the lava or fall off and die purposefully.
HER DAGGERS... they either want to work or she completely throws it over the target that is literally in front of her.
I hope my video helped a bit how to land those scores. I know you're going to eclipse me which is why I held off some of my tactics for a bit, but now I'm going to share all of my strats. Hopefully it helps adds more fun to the daily cook-off. :)
The way I usually hunt Verskit is by first tricking all six of them into jumping off the cliff to the right. As Mina, you can crouch near the edge and they'll jump straight over your head and fall, funnily enough. Luring the bottom three over to the right is a little tricky though. When done properly, all six Verskits should be waiting by the entrance, where you'll then be able to feed them and defeat them all at once (with a heavy attack). To save time, I usually lure the them over there while gathering other ingredients.
For Thrash's challenges, I recommend using his flying knee move and the fireball move as much as possible (the latter can be used while jumping). Moving and breaking targets at the same time is much more efficient than using the normal slashing attacks.
For Mina's challenges, well, throw daggers and pray! Her challenges are much much harder to optimize. xD
I recorded my session. You can watch my gameplay and demolish me once you take note of the repeating patterns that I do.

Your combat skills is top tier so you'll be faster at getting the items than me. I attempted to be on the leaderboard on the combat challenge too, but then I flopped over and gave up from rage quitting. I couldn't wrap my poor head around how you did it. It is so frustrating I am always like half a second away from getting on the leaderboard! I'll never touch thrash though, I am so clumsy with his game style! xD
Oh, and your score on today's daily cook-off is impressive as always! I wonder if a total score of 950 would have even been possible; Sky Land is always challenging.
Mewi, your score is so hard to beat on those combat challeges! I can't even land on the leaderboard so I actually feel competition from you when it comes from those daily cook-offs. I am creating other guides too for tackling how to nail those lvl-3 gems quickly for those people struggling with the 3-matching part. It's one of the reasons why I haven't gone back to update on this yet. >_> ;;
I appreciate the feedback! It helps motivates me to keep making more. I will update it when I find the time. :)
I mostly just use the pictures, but I think Cragmor is missing from the sources column in the second-to-last table. Either that, or I had no idea Candle Gourds have shells and claws!
Thanks for catching the information I missed!
I'll try and include the "normal" before you get to the stage with poisons/bones/fragments.
Oh my god, Caranha Seed Cookies sounds delicious :o
By the way, some ingredients are missing:
The "normal" Dragon's Heart has a level 1 green gem in place of the poison one.
The "normal" Hydra's Fin has a level 1 red gem in place of the poison one.
And I think there is a "poisoned" version of the Lapizard's Legs but I don't have any save to verify it.
Also, you didn't put the Cheepchi's Horn in your list although it is in your image. Same for the "poisoned" version of the Armarock's Liver and the "poisoned" version of the Lupir's Bladder.
Have some Caranha Seed Cookies on me! :3
