Playing the Bosmer right!

This is a short guide on how to play Bosmer to be Lore-Friendly (A lot of this is opinionated)

First things first.
Now I'm sure that you just want to hop right into shooting arrows at every single thing that moves, right? But first, you need to outfit yourself accordingly. Some light armours are more constricting than others, and helmets (IMO) are not supposed to be worn. The reason I don't like helmets is because in reality they cut off peripherals and they constrain hearing, and those are two things extremely important for hunters and archers alike. You also don't want to be wearing clothing that limits movement in the arms, I generally wear Hide Armour or Forsworn Armour anything that is made from the parts of animals that isn't too heavy. Another thing you want to look at is forearm protection, sure master archers won't get string slapped but everyone makes some mistakes, I wear either Leather Bracers or Forsworn Gauntlets. Now once you start hitting the higher levels and finding better armour I still tend to keep armour for form, rather than function. Now for the bow, bows in Skyrim have unique firing rates and arrow velocities depending on their weights. The lighter the bow the faster is shoots, but the slower the arrow will travel. The bow you will use depends on your preference and level. The melee weapon you choose also depends on preference and level. Now more likely than not you will use a sword, but I tend to stick with a dagger.
Adding depth (Spoilers)
Now that your Bosmer is armed, you'll want to add some more lore elements. I like to grab Namira's Ring as soon as I can. If you've never gotten it before you can get it at any level with the quest The Taste of Death in Markarth you can hear about it through rumors or talking directly to Kleppr at the inn. Once you finish the quest you will be able to eat the bodies of any fallen humanoid, JUST LIKE REAL BOSMER! :D The reason Bosmer eat their fallen enemies and comrades alike is due to the Green Pact. The Green Pact is an agreement with Y'ffre, which prohibits Bosmer and any outlander from using and vegetation found within Valenwood as building material or for eating. Due to said pact Bosmer are strictly carnivoristic and cannibalistic.

I agreed, not sure how the game is setup for players using heavy armor, esp around the arm areas, cant use a bow well that way. The helmet make sense, it will block some views and hearing impaired as well. Been looking for good face model either male or female bosmer, didnt like the default or presets they had.

Zephyr is really fun to use, I downloaded the Bosmer Pack but sadly my computer is really iffy on running games :c It's an old Dell, I want to build a good rig but das expensive xD. The armours look awesome though, I like the helmet with the feathers more than the hoods, more periphreals.

I spotted in one of the in-game books that the archery style of the Bosmer is to rapidly release arrows rather than taking a pause after aiming.

With this in mind my current wood elf is equipped with Zephyr, a rapid firing bow from Dawnguard DLC despite it not being the most powerful weapon in her arsenal, and she rains a continual stream of arrows.

What do you think of the new Bosmer Armor mod on Nexus? There certainly seems to be some thought behind it and the mod description is an interesting read.

Why not? This is all preference for me, you can do what you would like. But that's fine in my book, mobility in elbows is rather important.

i never thought about it this way, but would any armor without sleves work? like armors from mods?

I also really love the Dance in Fire book series for Wood Elf lore. It was really what made me realise that they are a very interesting race to roleplay.

Sorry for not adding the link! Also if you play with DLC make sure to get the Imp's More Complex Needs patches for the DLC.
