UPDATE: 1948 version here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1336547896

I've had reservations about putting this one on the workshop for a number of reasons. This was the first ship that I made when I came back to the game in July and I didn't make most of it myself. The external appearence is an exact copy of the DW Bismarck aside from some minor lengthening I did when I was stiching together the hull. Most of the internals not including the engines are original though. I also did about most of the superstructure myself, still heavily inspired using the same style This particular ship has gone through numerous overhauls, refits, and makeovers, and I'm pretty happy with current version. Alas, here it is:

A rivial to Iowa and Yamato in size, breadth of armament, and capability, "Großer Friedrich" is a testament to the scale and firepower of the battleship. Armed with 12x 40.6cm guns, she can output a huge broadside on anything unfortunate enough to be on the other end of her guns. She carries a massive AA armament, capable of laying down a cloud of mixed caliber flak. Radar laid gunnery allows for highly accurate fire up to a maximum of 25 miles out, while multiple fire directors and radar pieces make her dectection equipment hard to destroy. Her armor is in a "V" belt simmilar to Iowa layered thickest above the water. She is loosely inspired by the H-Class battleships planned by the Kriegsmarine, themselves being upscaled Bismarcks with 16 inch armament. I used the WoWS Friedrich der Große as reference material when creating the superstructure and other externalities. Liberties have been taken in other aspects (shields, amount of AA, propulsion) to make sure that she is a force to be reckoned with in game.

Yes, armament-wise, it's basically GK. It's the Bismarck superstructure, FdG hull, and GK armament. I basically just took all the things I like about the types and combined them without too much thought (it was my first ship). If, and more likely when, I do come back to FtD, a true H39 and GK clone will be on my list.

It's more like the GK

Just want to notify you all that I've made some major changes to the ship and the current version is probably twice as deadly (EMP rounds, signifcant improved AA, revised superstructure). I don't think it notifies on updates to subscribed workshop items, but if it does, let me know so I'm not being redundant.

She has big trouble with shields, fast moving targets, and the spammy nature of combat (e.g. the armor is designed to defeat large caliber shells, not 500mm autocannons). I have a modern refit that was designed to take down Thyr with missiles, LAMs, CWIS, and railguns, but it's quite old.

She'll generally win if the enemy isn't well protected against shellfire, just stay 3-4km away.

I have a feeling I could beat the campaign with this thing alone.

It is a decent replica, Scale is off in a couple places however in total it works well
